[Guide] Early E5 Breakdown (1/25/21)

I've thought alot on gaining poweprogress on an account, and the best way to accomplish it. Then extrapolated a little from my other experiences to come up with this. Please realize that almost the entire guide excludes Light/Dark in any regard.
TL:DR Version: I have tested and managed an e5 two times now in under 5 months. It should be even easier than when i did as since game has gotten alot friendlier. My luck was not good nor bad. Just takes doing the goal oriented things below. Saving what you should save. Spend when you should spend. Feathers really are important for this. Its also very important to prioritize the feathers in events. Get 240 Casino coins, 80 POs, or 500 HSs THEN spend them to complete said event. Don't use them before that since you lose out on the feathers. Once you start building a supply of feathers, don't spend them until you can fully build the hero. Next is focusing on 4★ shards for most of your growth. Last is DON'T BUILD HEROES YOU WON'T FODDER. Do these and even you can do it. I know its a bit of a read, but this whole thing does work, but you can't cherry pick the parts you want to do, and expect it to not take you longer, in some cases alot longer.
Keep these heroes until you know better what you are doing:
Horus Gustin Tix Ithaqua
Cthuga Morax Ignis Kroos Delicium Nakia
Heart Watcher Rogan Elyvia Garuda
Xia Sigmund Inosuke Sherlock Penny Unimax - 3000

Starting

The idea behind this whole post is to focus efforts towards the earliest most efficient E5 you can make. The power of an early E5 vs a team of 6x 10★ isn't really even comparable. The E5 will wipe the floor with them in every way. More specifically an E5 of one the best heroes in the game will carry your progress well beyond any other strategy after its made. No hero does everything the best. Therefore, we want to pick as good a hero as we can, without waiting forever. We still need to get this made in a reasonable time frame so you can build on your progress.
So once again the idea is to go all out for ONE hero. Don't level anything you can't sacrifice. ALL Prophet Orbs, Prophet Branches, Feathers, Guild Coins, EVERYTHING that is a resource and can be used to progress your E5 will be used for your E5.

The Basics

Lets start with the basics by breaking down Hero ★ ranks. The basic unit is a 5★ building block. Heading over to the Creation Circle, we can turn some 5★s into 6★s. Once at 6★, level the hero to 100 and promote it. Then the promotion tab becomes active on that hero. The rest of the promotions will be done here. Requirements below:

7★ 4x 5★ Same Faction - -
8★ 3x 5★ Same Faction 6★ Same Faction -
9★ 2x 5★ Same Faction 6★ Same Faction 1x Copy of Hero
10★ 9★ Any Faction 6★ Same Faction 2x Copy of Hero
E1 9★ Any Faction - 1x Copy of Hero
E2 9★ Any Faction - 1x Copy of Hero
E3 10★ Any Faction - -
E4 10★ Any Faction - 1x Copy of Hero
E5 10★ Any Faction - 1x Copy of Hero

Looking at this we can see that we will need to get our E5 hero to 9★, three 9★ fodders, and three 10★ fodders. That's 304x 5★s if i did the math right. That is alot of 5★s.
So here is the basic plan.
The most common ways to majorly slow your progress seems to come in 2 forms.
1.) You feel you need a full team of heroes with lots of stars. 2.) You struggle with the long view and build non fodder heroes.
So let me just say once again. You don't need a full team. You need 1 good hero. If you decide on a hero, stick with that hero.

Picking the E5 Hero

This is your first E5, once made it will be your only hero for a time. Because of this, it needs to be a solid hero for carrying your progress from that point on while you start on your next. I used to rate heroes on a per Category basis and weight the results for a best hero ranking. That takes too much work. So instead of that non-sense i'll just tell you who i would build.
1.) Tix 2.) Inosuke 3.) Garuda
Try to build 1 of those 3. Tix and Inosuke are a bit better than Garuda, but she is still very solid if you happen to have alot of copies of her. You can always build the other 2 next.
Picking your E5 hero is probably the trickiest part of this whole thing. The several month building process gives you time in which your fortunes can change. So here is my advice. Build Norma to 9★ and use her for early game. Start working on 10★s of other decent fodder heroes. In that time, if you pick up 2-3 of any of the three heroes i listed, just lock in and go for that hero. I also don't count the Imp Adventure Chest as picking up a hero. I'm talking through PO, HS, Super Casino, Random Holiday Events, Heroic Miracle, or Altar Event. Keep the Imp Chest a Chest until you pull the trigger on deciding which hero you are going to make. Once you decide on a hero, you can open the chests. Feathers should never be used until you can promote a hero to E5 the exact moment you spend them. If you are still building Fodder or the copies don't add up to 9, you don't spend feathers. The reason is because we really only want to spend feathers on this first hero for speed. After this first hero, feathers should be solely for Light/Dark hero copies or 400 Feather P2W Artifacts. So the less you can spend the better. It is still worth using them at the right time for your first E5 though.
If you aren't sure where to orb, i would suggest one of 2 things. 1.) If you have any copies of the heroes above, try the faction you have the most of. 2.) If you don't have any, pick Fortress. It has Inosuke and Sherlock. Both are great. Shadow basically only has Tix. Forest has Garuda and Rogan which are good but aren't quite as good as Sherlock and Inosuke.
At the moment Inosuka and Tix are probably the most useful heroes. Therefore if you have no copies of any of the other listed heroes, you should just start your aim there.
Once you get an E5 hero, you don't start filling in your team with a bunch of crap low star heroes. You start the process over again on a new hero. Though maybe this time include Light/Dark as options. You really shouldn't ever be building anything that isn't going towards an E5 Hero, other than maybe HeartWatcher and Sigmund which are generally fine at 10★ or E3.

Picking 10★ Fodder Heroes

Faction Hero Hero Hero
Shadow Dominator Walter Corpse Demon
Abyss Karim Barea King Barton
Forest Starlight Groot Vesa
Fortress Ormus

To make an E5 hero, we need three 10★ sacrifices for the last steps. So it helps to make those useful heroes until its time to sacrifice them. Which of these heroes you build will depend on luck, and the faction you choose to use Prophet Orbs on. Each faction has a few worthy 10★ heroes listed above.

Streamline the Fodders

The fodder process needs to be focused on building only 1 Non-Fodder Hero to E5. That means leaving all other God Tier Heroes unmade and in Token form if you can help it. This will stop them from taking up a hero slot. Good to get in the habit of keeping heroes in Token form until they are needed. That being said, any hero i didn't list at the very top of this thread should be put to use making 10★ fodders. No need to save them if they aren't on that list.
The biggest mistake newer players make is underestimating the power of 4★ Shards and not picking them up at every available opportunity. The importance of 4★ Heroes IS HUGE. It is the basis for 75% of my growth. You build the shard numbers daily, in small amounts. By the end of the month, they add up to thousands. On top of that, with the monthly Fusion quest, the first 20 5★s you make reward you gold, which you will need. They should be picked up at every chance. Here is where to find them.

My Monthly Progress:
  1. All month long, do everything to build 4★ shards
  2. Once Heroic Miracle comes around
    • Use all my Heart Summons, destroy all 1★ and 2★
    • Use all my Random 4★ shards along with 3★ shards to form 5★s
  3. Keep forming 5★s until i can turn them into a 6★
  4. Once i have three 6★s of the same faction a. Collect 9 more 5★ fodders of that faction b. Collect 1 more copy of one of the 6★ heroes c. Craft a 9★
  5. Use 5★ Random Summon Shards a. You want to collect 5 of any of these heroes. b. If you have 2 copies of any of them, make a 6★ c. Make a 10★ with said hero

Change Log:

Changed all kinds of crap. Cut out tons of non-sense filler. Mostly updated so people reading don't build the outdated heroes. Its been awhile since i updated this.

Winter Wonderland HUT Guide - for Beginners!

It’s Coooolin ! Hey there!
Are you new to HUT? About to fire it up for the first time? Here’s a guide for you! ... and tips at the verrryyyy end!!

Knowing the Menus

There’s a bunch of things to do in HUT under different categories they are ...
• HUT Central
• Solo Play
• Online
• Auction House - sets
• Team
Each of these have various things underneath them, so let’s talk about them.
HUT CENTRAL
First off we have a scroll-through menu on what new content is out.
New content; packs, and players gets released every week day at 5pm EST , unless it’s a Holiday - then we’ll get the content a day earlier.
You will see when the content is out of packs by the timer and the date on the banner shown - Winterinternational Players released Monday were a week long to pull.
We will see new events come into HUT bi-weekly. This event ends soon, so we will see a new Event next Friday at 5pm EST.
Team of the Weeks are Wednesdays at 5pm EST. Available for the Week.
HUT RUSH
What else is there on HUT Central? You can go directly to HUT RUSH game mode by going to the banner using the left stick, highlighting it and clicking “X” or “A”.
HUT Rush is 2 game modes , normally one is Traditional Hockey gamestyle, and other is Arcade Hockey gamestyle with “moneypuck” attached.
Play games, win, get points, rank up in tiers. Get rewards - instantly. You can net 18.5k in coins, and 2 and a half gold collectables normally — or 100 Gold Players for 3 Gold Collectables, once. — willl talk about later. This is a limited time set, ending Tuesday @5pm EST.
Objectives / Milestones
You will also be available to see what Objectives / Milestones are close to completion. Click on this, and you will be shown the “Daily” Objectives. If you do all these, you get a Monthly Collectable, and 1,250 coins for the day.
Weekly Objectives are the same thing, finish all those up within a weeks time (Friday at 5pm EST - Friday at 5pm EST) and get a cool 5k, plus an Untradable Premium Pack - worth 7,500 coins.
Milestones have infinite time, do those for coins, players, packs. Do them all? Get yourself an Icon or Gold Collectable. — I’ll talk about these later.

Solo Play

Under Solo Play there is Squad Battles , and Challenges.
What is Squad Battles?
Squad Battles is playing your team against the A.I. for points. The higher difficulty; rookie, semi-pro, pro, all-star, superstar - and opponents OVR - i.e., 77 or 88 - the more points you can obtain. To get max points, score 5 goals, and have 20 shots on net. Points will increase as more people play, and get updated weekday, 5pm EST. The more games you play, and win the higher the rank you will get. Aim for at least Pro 2 , which is 4-5 games.** Squad Battles resets on Wednesday - 5pm EST and you will receive your rewards on Thursday at 5pm EST. —- some people still don’t know this, so have that memorized and you’ll know more than some people.
Squad Battles affects your win-loss ratio, and Players Stats
Squad Battles rewards you in Tradable Packs, Coins, and HUT Sweats CHAMPS points
Challenges
Challenges are a great way to earn a coin stack, and receive free packs - usually earned at the second last - last challenge in the “Event Challenges”. You will also receive Monthly Collectables throughout doing the Event Challenges.
If you opt not to do these Event Challenges, there are “offline” challenges to do - Starting at Rookie, and ending in Superstar you can net a free 200k for doing them all!! It is time consuming, but it’s 200k worth!
Challenge Coin Tiered

Online

Rivals Mode
What is Rivals?
Rivals is playing against people online. PS+ or Xbox Membership is required in order to play online.
Play your first 5 games, get entered into a Division.
Do well - win lots in a row, and you’ll be able to go up in Divisions. This gives yourself better, and bigger rewards. Want to get those rewards in a higher tier, but you’re afraid you’ll lose the division? Hold off, and don’t play. Rivals resets Tuesdays at 5pm EST, Rewards available Wednesday at 5pm EST.
Each game gives you points, as well. You get more points winning than losing, duh. More points will net you better rewards for the week. I normally just aim for Gold.
You can choose from Tradable packs, Untradable packs (2 times the amount as tradable) or coins.
Play a friend
You can play your friend in HUT. They will obviously use their HUT team, and you’ll use yours. You can use expired loan players in this. Make up your own rules, and have fun!

Auction House

Buy players, jerseys, logos, coaches, arenas, cellys, jersey numbers, goalie masks in the Auction House. You can also sell your own, as well. Simply click on the “Auction House” . You can change the category by clicking “X/A” and scroll over to your designated category you want to buy. - Also filter out the things if you want a specific player, or event.
You will have the option to click down and sell players, view them in the next tab and see how much time is left, and also see what price they go for at the very end at the “Sell Transactions” - it will show you what you’ve sold, and by clicking “R2/RT” you will have a timestamp, going back a week, month, year, or all-time. Clicking “L2/LT” you will see your sold items, and expired items — if they didnt sell they’ll go here.
• Since you are new?? There is a “Market Crash” happening right now. Load yourself up with “Base” 84+ cards for cheap - Mackinnon, Kane, McDavid - best Base player - Hedman, Vasilevskiy, etc., —- Tall goalies are “meta” , as well as “speedy” players. —
I would also suggest buying TOTW Players, they will rebound in price.
Sets
Do your re-rolls what even is a “re-roll” ? A reroll is trading in 8 of a specific “level” to 2 of the “next level” players. For example 8 Bronze Players to 2 Silver Players. 8 Silver Players to 2 Gold Players. Lastly, we have 8 Gold Players to 2 Gold Players with one being an 80+ Player. I would not suggest doing the Gold -> Gold reroll
You can also trade in Monthly Collectables you get from the Daily login for a Free Gold Collect / Icon. This costs 30 Monthly Collectables. You can also get packs, or a 80-82 player. You can get 2 per day - Daily Pack you get every 24hrs, plus doing the Daily Challenges.
When a player gets 50 Gold Players, you can lock those into a Gold or Icon Collectable. Each will help your team in various ways, lets look at it.
There is a set right now under “Winterinternational” where you trade in 100 Gold Players to 3 Gold Collectables, I highly suggest this, especially as a new player - redeemable twice
—- The Winterinternational Collectables from the Event Challenges gives you a free Gold Collectable or helps with building a 91/92 random player, or specific player. For the free Gold Collectable you need 21 Winterinternational Collectables. —
Icon Collectable - Untradable Master Icons. 1 Icon Collectable is an 85 Master Icon. There’s 84-89 OVR Master Icons available. Each one requires more and more Icon Collectables.
—- Master Icons will eventually go to 99 OVR. Will require more Icons. Lower OVR Icons will need more Icons to get to Max OVR - 99. Higher Icons - Gretz / Lem. will require less.
To get Lemieux / Gretzy it is 7? Icon Collectables.
Gold Collectables - Tradable / Untradable Event Master Set Players (MsPs). Less Gold Collectables will net you an Untradable MSP , More Gold Collectables will net you a Tradable MSP. You can also get yourself specific 92 MsPs this event by doing their tasks. — They are Untradable. —
Normally I go Tradable, and sell them for more coins. This allows you to build your favourite team the fastest.

Team

Store
Also under this is “Store” . Right now until Tuesday at 5pm EST you can get a free 90 OVR player! What a great way to start! Just pick your favourite one - THERE IS NO WRONG CHOICE!!
Seriously grinds my gears seeing a post “what 90 is the best” “who should I choose?” It is YOUR GAME! What works for others , may not work for you. Pick YOUR FAVOURITE!
Base & Premium Packs are always there. Base packs are 5k coins, Premium Packs are 7.5k coins. Every other weekday we will see a new pack enter the store. New Events bring more packs, containing specific stuff. One guarantees a Gold Collectable, and a Winterinternational Player. Since Boxing Day is today, there are packs out for it!! These packs end on Monday at 5pm EST.
A player can also buy packs by purchasing “points” to purchase points, click the Triangle or Y button in the store.
To see how much a pack is in “points” it is the Green Circle “Pucks” besides the coins. Currently the guaranteed Winterinternational and Gold Collectable pack is $25.
Team
Change your team players, lineups, goalies, coaches, add better players, etc.,
You can change your strategies by going to “Manage Lineups” and “Strategies”.
Also there is the “Settings” to fix your camera, puck size, visual / audio, and controls.

Had this game really improved by a lot ? A retrospective of 28 months.

Hello fellow Idlers,

Since many months, I saw this sub torn between two visions of the game, and the recent updates.
A first group, including me, thinks this game has a very slow evolution, makes shitty updates, and is more and more greedy towards the whales and their bank account. We are many, and we all agree on many points : updates of this game and the direction it takes is not good for most of the playerbase, and dolphins/low spenders are forgotten for every event. Many left, guilds died a lot this year, even in old servers. Many small spenders and monthly subscribers stopped spending, and a big bunch of players plans to leave at the end of the year after the big events. That's a fact, and this is not good for the future of the game.
A second group seems to defend the devs a lot, shouting at the first ones when they want QoL updates, when they think an event is shitty, or greedy. They think that DH is making a good job at listening to players, answers requests, make QoL updates, and that the game improved A LOT (read that one frequently)

I'm not here to defend my point of view about the game (I'm ranting enough on this sub), but to give FACTS.

To do that, I looked back on this sub, at a time when a player named Folstar used to make "to-do lists" to the devs, reporting every problem of QoL this game has. Let's see a post from July 2018, 28 months back. (I'll let math addicts calculate the amount of money DH made during this lap of time....).

For reference, here is the post I digged out : https://www.reddit.com/IdleHeroes/comments/8ze2ee/folstars_dev_to_do_list_vol_5/
I won't copy past every detail of this post, so I invite you to take a look at all the complaints we had 2 years back. Essentially, we have almost the same now.

  1. Guild Wars : change came in 2020. Long overdue, but with a new system that isn't perfect. Still an improvement, so 1 point for team 2.
  2. Equipment/Artifact loadouts. LOL. 1 point for team 1.
  3. Faction sorting button anywhere we select heroes. Still nothing
  4. Celestial Islands Small Islands Skipping. Done last year. With a big update of CI, which is, IMO, the only good update we had recently.
  5. BT Skip Battle. Done last week.
  6. Smash should automatically prompt with the maximum number of attacks available : still nope.
  7. Shard Sorting. That's a nope.
  8. Marketplace/Casino/Super : .........still nothing
  9. Skins as Avatars. Yeeah, we got this one !
  10. Avatar Sorting. The current system could be considered like a sorting, a bad one, but still.
  11. Excessive Exclusive Skins. Still nothing, we got only exclusive skins as new ones now. That's a regress.
  12. You, Skins, and RNG. Still nothing about the accesibility of skins. Oh, yes, you can buy one for 50$ every week now. And you get way less shards than before.Woopsie, my bad, we indeed get shards for Imp event
  13. Block/Precision. Still shitty stats, except for Horus. Dodge was way more interesting...
  14. Rerolling the Same Thing You Are Replacing. I thought they said it was corrected months ago, but I had a try few days ago and still nothing : you can still get the exact same stone... Correct me if I'm wrong, I can't waste more dust !
  15. Friends and Mail. Still nothing
  16. Guildies are Friendies. Still nothing
  17. More Challenges. .......Nothing ? Some would consider Void to be a challenge. It is a challenge of patience, sort of... Or a challenge to be motivate enough to do some Vortex battles or some Realms gate clicking....
  18. Another tier (or 2) of Event Raids. ........... and nothing again
  19. Update Quests. Small changes here and there, but almost the same as at the launch of the game. No new mode is included. Daily quests are still garbage.
  20. Casino Store. Still a useless store.
  21. Soul Stone Shards. No changes at all, of course.
  22. Altar Returns Shards for 6 Star and higher heroes. Absolutely nothing changed.
  23. Raid Boss Notification. We had changes concerning this one, so I guess it's a tie. FS is not perfect, but an improvement of the nothingness we had at the time.
  24. Saving on Server Change. Fixed in 2019
  25. Casino Spinner Rewards. Oh, nothing : the casino wheel is still as shitty as before. No interest at all in the rewards, and you ?
  26. Monster Rebirthing. Still consuming your gold.
  27. Red Dot on Event Raid. Yeepeeee, it changed. I think so.
  28. Artifact rerolling and/or breaking into shards. Still nothing. We can fodder artifacts now, but it's not for all players AT ALL.
  29. 12* Hours Timers. Nothing, still this shitty 12h timer, punishing you for every minute missed.
  30. Slightly Reduce All Timers. Nothing again.

Amongst 30 SIMPLE changes recommended 28 months back, only 9 were in fact developped or corrected by the devs.
In the same time, we had the 640$ frame, the Void update, the 2k$ SFX and the anniversary hero hidden behind a paywall of stupid RNG, just to name a few.

Conclusion : NO, DH Games is not listening enough to players. No, the small updates we have once in a while are not good enough. No, this game had not IMPROVED A LOT, but just corrected 9 of the 30 problems we had 28 months back. 21 are still there, and many more came with recent updates.

TL/DR : In 28 months, devs corrected 9 of the 30 QoL problems we had. No, this game didn't improve enough the QoL of players.

Former investment bank FX trader: some thoughts

Former investment bank FX trader: some thoughts
Hi guys,
I have been using reddit for years in my personal life (not trading!) and wanted to give something back in an area where i am an expert.
I worked at an investment bank for seven years and joined them as a graduate FX trader so have lots of professional experience, by which i mean I was trained and paid by a big institution to trade on their behalf. This is very different to being a full-time home trader, although that is not to discredit those guys, who can accumulate a good amount of experience/wisdom through self learning.
When I get time I'm going to write a mid-length posts on each topic for you guys along the lines of how i was trained. I guess there would be 15-20 topics in total so about 50-60 posts. Feel free to comment or ask questions.
The first topic is Risk Management and we'll cover it in three parts
Part I
  • Why it matters
  • Position sizing
  • Kelly
  • Using stops sensibly
  • Picking a clear level

Why it matters

The first rule of making money through trading is to ensure you do not lose money. Look at any serious hedge fund’s website and they’ll talk about their first priority being “preservation of investor capital.”
You have to keep it before you grow it.
Strangely, if you look at retail trading websites, for every one article on risk management there are probably fifty on trade selection. This is completely the wrong way around.
The great news is that this stuff is pretty simple and process-driven. Anyone can learn and follow best practices.
Seriously, avoiding mistakes is one of the most important things: there's not some holy grail system for finding winning trades, rather a routine and fairly boring set of processes that ensure that you are profitable, despite having plenty of losing trades alongside the winners.

Capital and position sizing

The first thing you have to know is how much capital you are working with. Let’s say you have $100,000 deposited. This is your maximum trading capital. Your trading capital is not the leveraged amount. It is the amount of money you have deposited and can withdraw or lose.
Position sizing is what ensures that a losing streak does not take you out of the market.
A rule of thumb is that one should risk no more than 2% of one’s account balance on an individual trade and no more than 8% of one’s account balance on a specific theme. We’ll look at why that’s a rule of thumb later. For now let’s just accept those numbers and look at examples.
So we have $100,000 in our account. And we wish to buy EURUSD. We should therefore not be risking more than 2% which $2,000.
We look at a technical chart and decide to leave a stop below the monthly low, which is 55 pips below market. We’ll come back to this in a bit. So what should our position size be?
We go to the calculator page, select Position Size and enter our details. There are many such calculators online - just google "Pip calculator".

https://preview.redd.it/y38zb666e5h51.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26e4fe569dc5c1f43ce4c746230c49b138691d14
So the appropriate size is a buy position of 363,636 EURUSD. If it reaches our stop level we know we’ll lose precisely $2,000 or 2% of our capital.
You should be using this calculator (or something similar) on every single trade so that you know your risk.
Now imagine that we have similar bets on EURJPY and EURGBP, which have also broken above moving averages. Clearly this EUR-momentum is a theme. If it works all three bets are likely to pay off. But if it goes wrong we are likely to lose on all three at once. We are going to look at this concept of correlation in more detail later.
The total amount of risk in our portfolio - if all of the trades on this EUR-momentum theme were to hit their stops - should not exceed $8,000 or 8% of total capital. This allows us to go big on themes we like without going bust when the theme does not work.
As we’ll see later, many traders only win on 40-60% of trades. So you have to accept losing trades will be common and ensure you size trades so they cannot ruin you.
Similarly, like poker players, we should risk more on trades we feel confident about and less on trades that seem less compelling. However, this should always be subject to overall position sizing constraints.
For example before you put on each trade you might rate the strength of your conviction in the trade and allocate a position size accordingly:

https://preview.redd.it/q2ea6rgae5h51.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=4332cb8d0bbbc3d8db972c1f28e8189105393e5b
To keep yourself disciplined you should try to ensure that no more than one in twenty trades are graded exceptional and allocated 5% of account balance risk. It really should be a rare moment when all the stars align for you.
Notice that the nice thing about dealing in percentages is that it scales. Say you start out with $100,000 but end the year up 50% at $150,000. Now a 1% bet will risk $1,500 rather than $1,000. That makes sense as your capital has grown.
It is extremely common for retail accounts to blow-up by making only 4-5 losing trades because they are leveraged at 50:1 and have taken on far too large a position, relative to their account balance.
Consider that GBPUSD tends to move 1% each day. If you have an account balance of $10k then it would be crazy to take a position of $500k (50:1 leveraged). A 1% move on $500k is $5k.
Two perfectly regular down days in a row — or a single day’s move of 2% — and you will receive a margin call from the broker, have the account closed out, and have lost all your money.
Do not let this happen to you. Use position sizing discipline to protect yourself.

Kelly Criterion

If you’re wondering - why “about 2%” per trade? - that’s a fair question. Why not 0.5% or 10% or any other number?
The Kelly Criterion is a formula that was adapted for use in casinos. If you know the odds of winning and the expected pay-off, it tells you how much you should bet in each round.
This is harder than it sounds. Let’s say you could bet on a weighted coin flip, where it lands on heads 60% of the time and tails 40% of the time. The payout is $2 per $1 bet.
Well, absolutely you should bet. The odds are in your favour. But if you have, say, $100 it is less obvious how much you should bet to avoid ruin.
Say you bet $50, the odds that it could land on tails twice in a row are 16%. You could easily be out after the first two flips.
Equally, betting $1 is not going to maximise your advantage. The odds are 60/40 in your favour so only betting $1 is likely too conservative. The Kelly Criterion is a formula that produces the long-run optimal bet size, given the odds.
Applying the formula to forex trading looks like this:
Position size % = Winning trade % - ( (1- Winning trade %) / Risk-reward ratio
If you have recorded hundreds of trades in your journal - see next chapter - you can calculate what this outputs for you specifically.
If you don't have hundreds of trades then let’s assume some realistic defaults of Winning trade % being 30% and Risk-reward ratio being 3. The 3 implies your TP is 3x the distance of your stop from entry e.g. 300 pips take profit and 100 pips stop loss.
So that’s 0.3 - (1 - 0.3) / 3 = 6.6%.
Hold on a second. 6.6% of your account probably feels like a LOT to risk per trade. This is the main observation people have on Kelly: whilst it may optimise the long-run results it doesn’t take into account the pain of drawdowns. It is better thought of as the rational maximum limit. You needn’t go right up to the limit!
With a 30% winning trade ratio, the odds of you losing on four trades in a row is nearly one in four. That would result in a drawdown of nearly a quarter of your starting account balance. Could you really stomach that and put on the fifth trade, cool as ice? Most of us could not.
Accordingly people tend to reduce the bet size. For example, let’s say you know you would feel emotionally affected by losing 25% of your account.
Well, the simplest way is to divide the Kelly output by four. You have effectively hidden 75% of your account balance from Kelly and it is now optimised to avoid a total wipeout of just the 25% it can see.
This gives 6.6% / 4 = 1.65%. Of course different trading approaches and different risk appetites will provide different optimal bet sizes but as a rule of thumb something between 1-2% is appropriate for the style and risk appetite of most retail traders.
Incidentally be very wary of systems or traders who claim high winning trade % like 80%. Invariably these don’t pass a basic sense-check:
  • How many live trades have you done? Often they’ll have done only a handful of real trades and the rest are simulated backtests, which are overfitted. The model will soon die.
  • What is your risk-reward ratio on each trade? If you have a take profit $3 away and a stop loss $100 away, of course most trades will be winners. You will not be making money, however! In general most traders should trade smaller position sizes and less frequently than they do. If you are going to bias one way or the other, far better to start off too small.

How to use stop losses sensibly

Stop losses have a bad reputation amongst the retail community but are absolutely essential to risk management. No serious discretionary trader can operate without them.
A stop loss is a resting order, left with the broker, to automatically close your position if it reaches a certain price. For a recap on the various order types visit this chapter.
The valid concern with stop losses is that disreputable brokers look for a concentration of stops and then, when the market is close, whipsaw the price through the stop levels so that the clients ‘stop out’ and sell to the broker at a low rate before the market naturally comes back higher. This is referred to as ‘stop hunting’.
This would be extremely immoral behaviour and the way to guard against it is to use a highly reputable top-tier broker in a well regulated region such as the UK.
Why are stop losses so important? Well, there is no other way to manage risk with certainty.
You should always have a pre-determined stop loss before you put on a trade. Not having one is a recipe for disaster: you will find yourself emotionally attached to the trade as it goes against you and it will be extremely hard to cut the loss. This is a well known behavioural bias that we’ll explore in a later chapter.
Learning to take a loss and move on rationally is a key lesson for new traders.
A common mistake is to think of the market as a personal nemesis. The market, of course, is totally impersonal; it doesn’t care whether you make money or not.
Bruce Kovner, founder of the hedge fund Caxton Associates
There is an old saying amongst bank traders which is “losers average losers”.
It is tempting, having bought EURUSD and seeing it go lower, to buy more. Your average price will improve if you keep buying as it goes lower. If it was cheap before it must be a bargain now, right? Wrong.
Where does that end? Always have a pre-determined cut-off point which limits your risk. A level where you know the reason for the trade was proved ‘wrong’ ... and stick to it strictly. If you trade using discretion, use stops.

Picking a clear level

Where you leave your stop loss is key.
Typically traders will leave them at big technical levels such as recent highs or lows. For example if EURUSD is trading at 1.1250 and the recent month’s low is 1.1205 then leaving it just below at 1.1200 seems sensible.

If you were going long, just below the double bottom support zone seems like a sensible area to leave a stop
You want to give it a bit of breathing room as we know support zones often get challenged before the price rallies. This is because lots of traders identify the same zones. You won’t be the only one selling around 1.1200.
The “weak hands” who leave their sell stop order at exactly the level are likely to get taken out as the market tests the support. Those who leave it ten or fifteen pips below the level have more breathing room and will survive a quick test of the level before a resumed run-up.
Your timeframe and trading style clearly play a part. Here’s a candlestick chart (one candle is one day) for GBPUSD.

https://preview.redd.it/moyngdy4f5h51.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=91af88da00dd3a09e202880d8029b0ddf04fb802
If you are putting on a trend-following trade you expect to hold for weeks then you need to have a stop loss that can withstand the daily noise. Look at the downtrend on the chart. There were plenty of days in which the price rallied 60 pips or more during the wider downtrend.
So having a really tight stop of, say, 25 pips that gets chopped up in noisy short-term moves is not going to work for this kind of trade. You need to use a wider stop and take a smaller position size, determined by the stop level.
There are several tools you can use to help you estimate what is a safe distance and we’ll look at those in the next section.
There are of course exceptions. For example, if you are doing range-break style trading you might have a really tight stop, set just below the previous range high.

https://preview.redd.it/ygy0tko7f5h51.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=34af49da61c911befdc0db26af66f6c313556c81
Clearly then where you set stops will depend on your trading style as well as your holding horizons and the volatility of each instrument.
Here are some guidelines that can help:
  1. Use technical analysis to pick important levels (support, resistance, previous high/lows, moving averages etc.) as these provide clear exit and entry points on a trade.
  2. Ensure that the stop gives your trade enough room to breathe and reflects your timeframe and typical volatility of each pair. See next section.
  3. Always pick your stop level first. Then use a calculator to determine the appropriate lot size for the position, based on the % of your account balance you wish to risk on the trade.
So far we have talked about price-based stops. There is another sort which is more of a fundamental stop, used alongside - not instead of - price stops. If either breaks you’re out.
For example if you stop understanding why a product is going up or down and your fundamental thesis has been confirmed wrong, get out. For example, if you are long because you think the central bank is turning hawkish and AUDUSD is going to play catch up with rates … then you hear dovish noises from the central bank and the bond yields retrace lower and back in line with the currency - close your AUDUSD position. You already know your thesis was wrong. No need to give away more money to the market.

Located off the coast of Peru the mystical island’s last volcanic eruption was around 3,500 years ago. Undiscovered until 1528 by the Spanish explorer Diego de Almagro, who named the island ‘Isla Volcán Del Diablo’ after the impenetrable cliffs and sulphurous odour. After weeks of exploration several artefacts were identified as Incan, a settlement used as a place of ceremony and believed to be haunted by the fabled tales handed down over time.

All guests have access to the casino that is based on the top floor of tower 1 with breath-taking 360 degree views over the island and out to the pacific ocean.
An eighteen hole championship golf course takes in the natural contours of the island working it’s way up to the ridge line including the adventurous fourth hole taking in central caldera with a 239 foot drop to the green below.
3 tee boxes, Championship tees (blue), Members tees (white) and guests tees (red) with four pin positions depending on the competition on the day. Pin 1, standard locations, Pin 2, a challenge set, Pin 3, championship pins, Pin location 4, the greenskeeper was drinking that morning, play if you dare…

Course Description
Hole 1: Par 4 Championship: 390yds Members: 373yds Guests: 346yds
A gentle uphill dogleg right to start the round will get us underway. A long iron for the second shot to a generous 2 tier green guarded by two bunkers.

https://preview.redd.it/h2zm6nlodlq51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f8524f758496a79ddb62f4792fe2177fa1f1f0d
Hole 2: Par 5 Championship: 617yds Members: 607yds Guests: 590yds
A true test of 3 shots. This par 5 plays it’s full length into the prevailing wind. Split fairway requires a well-placed drive to give yourself a full second around the dogleg right into a left to right sloping fairway. Another generous two-tier raised green with a large bunker on the left and two on the right.

https://preview.redd.it/7t3eg0xqdlq51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdd0d56d7f0f3bc8b0653b64c2a1733af9485812
Hole 3: Par 4 Championship: 372yds Members: 365yds Guests: 358yds
A large fairway bunker guards the middle of this downhill tee shot. Take this into consideration for the mid iron approach to this uphill two-tier green with bunkers front right and back left.

Hole 4: Par 3 Championship: 143yds Members: 118yds Guests: 118yds
Some may be put off by the fantasy hole that is the par 3 4th. A simple chip shot is all that is required to get the ball dropping 239 feet (xxx metres) onto the green at the centre of this caldera. Even though the volcano isn’t active, there are still remnants of what once was with the bubbling lake. Be careful driving the buggy down into the centre of the volcano. After putting out take a well-earned drink at the canteen.

Hole 5: Par 4 Championship: 454yds Members: 431yds Guests: 407yds
Styled on the Jack Nicklaus designed Great Waters at Reynolds Lake Oconee’s 11th hole, the three-tier green structure is 170 feet deep which will make for club selection for the second shot very important!

https://preview.redd.it/cg7zhsg3elq51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc08fba7cb79648062528502f04f63893a4a0559

Hole 6: Par 4 Championship: 426yds Members: 399yds Guests: 378yds
A straight hole down hill with a creek crossing at the landing zone split by a diagonal fairway bunker will place a premium on the drive. An uphill second to a three-tier green. No bunkers, but getting the ball on the correct tier is a must.

Hole 7: Par 5 Championship: 525yds Members: 513yds Guests: 496yds
Downhill tee shot will again place a premium on accuracy with yet another creek crossing. From there the dogleg right fairway winds its way uphill to a well-protected green with a false front, don’t be short!

Hole 8: Par 4 Championship: 421yds Members: 406yds Guests: 388yds
Driving up to the top ridge line you will be faced with a daunting tee shot protected by two fairway bunkers and a cliff drop of over 600 feet into the ocean below. A short iron into a large three‑tier green protected by a large front bunker and another back right.

https://preview.redd.it/felb4gdvdlq51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7fb85c8865484184dff8d606ccca24c6fde966b
Hole 9: Par 3 Championship: 191yds Members: 167yds Guests: 150yds
A dramatic 100 foot drop to the small right to left sloping green will require a well-crafted tee shot. Protected by bunkers left, back right and right across the front you will do well to walk off with a par.

Hole 10: Par 4 Championship: 374yds Members: 364yds Guests: 353yds
A straightaway downhill par 4 protected by a creek across the front of the green. Only the brave (or the wet) will take driver here, leaving a small chipshot onto a tight green with bunkers front right and behind. A good chance for a birdie.

Hole 11: Par 4 Championship: 382yds Members: 358yds Guests: 340yds
Slicers paradise! This drive will reward those that can hit a left to right slicing ball. Don’t get greedy or the fairway bunkers will come into play. The hole plays downhill off the tee to a tight green surrounded by pot bunkers.

Hole 12: Par 5 Championship: 550yds Members: 530yds Guests: 502yds
A risk reward hole that plays a lot longer than it looks, as it’s all uphill. The fairway has a double dogleg left and requires two very good shots before a mid-iron into a two-tier green surrounded by large bunkers.

Hole 13: Par 4 Championship: 459yds Members: 448yds Guests: 431yds
Another straight downhill par 4 requiring a well-placed tee shot to avoid the fairway bunkers. From there a long iron into a shallow green with plenty of area to miss right if required.

Hole 14: Par 4 Championship: 406yds Members: 387yds Guests: 359yds
Sulphur lake. The remnants of the volcano are evident here with a minor eruption only 3 years ago killing most of the trees surrounding this hole. After an uphill tee shot a short iron is all that is required to setup a birdie putt. What ever you do don’t go in the water after your ball…

https://preview.redd.it/ssz4ck6xdlq51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35b4992c238c4467378a5f991ee0ae1a3320b58b
Hole 15: Par 4 Championship: 386yds Members: 364yds Guests: 341yds
This long uphill par 4 will knock the wind out of your sails. The green sits over 100 feet above the tee boxes. The second shot is to a blind two-tier green with a large bunker protecting the front right complex. You are better off long unless it’s the diabolical pin 4.

Hole 16: Par 3 Championship: 162yds Members: 152yds Guests: 137yds
Signature hole. This simple par 3 will make or break your round. From the back tee the green sits 46 feet downhill and puts a premium on shot selection. A brave golfer will be pin high looking at a birdie, the foolish golfer will be long and a 600 foot drop to a watery grave. DON’T GO LEFT!

Hole 17: Par 4 Championship: 506yds Members: 479yds Guests: 452yds
A long downhill dogleg right means aiming a little further left to get the kick off the hill and set yourself up with a short iron into a green that slopes front to back. Take half a club less for your approach.
Hole 18: Par 3 Championship: 167yds Members: 142yds Guests: 119yds
A replica of the 17th hole at Bali National Golf Club this stadium hole sits in the middle of the luxury villas. A short par 3 to an island green and your round is complete.

Time to get back to the resort for a swim, you deserve it!

A Fundamental Problem with Mordhaus Combat after ~1.5k Hours That Needs to be Addressed!

OK, So I have been wanting to write one of these for a while and I finally got the chance to do so. I think one of the core mechanical problems with this game can be boiled down to accels being too fast. In an ideal melee slasher there would be a few different tools you could use against your opponent in order to get past their defense in terms of swing manipulation. These tools would each serve their own purpose and ideally would be used at the same rates. Right now the meta for dueling is acceling your opponent 10 times to your 3 drags and the reason for this is simple. Accels are objectively better than drags. Accels atm are so fast that you can strike at a speed near the minimum reaction time of a human. Particular weapons such as the long sword or the pole axe can strike so fast that ping becomes the defining characteristic on whether you are able to parry an attack.
From my perspective this game has been balanced around someone running 20 ping when the average player (especially in a large region like NA) has a ping anywhere from 50-70. This leads to the infamous red parry, or to those unfamiliar a red parry is a term used to refer to a parry that arrives at the server too late to count, due to the player not being able to parry early enough to compensate for the server latency. Sadly this problem leaves players who have a mere 20-30 ping advantage over their opponent a huge step up as they are simply not able to compete at the same high tier level. With a good accel you are able to punish your opponent despite the fact that they were able to read your attack and react to it through red parries. On top of this the current meta in duels is very stam focused with each side acceling a ton and doing massive casino drags in attempts to get around the other players defense. Chamber feint to parry has neutered alot of swing manipulation, especially in regards to drags, adding another facet to why accels are more useful than drags. Another problem I have recently noticed is that double parries have become abundant to the point where if you dont hard accel your opponent after successfully baiting a parry you are guaranteed to have your opponent parry your second attack.
The effects of accels being too fast are larger than merely red parries and a dumbing down of swing manipulation, other mechanics such as feinting quickly become very strong when played correctly. Weapons such as the short spear, arming sword, or bastard sword are all deemed "unreadable" relying on morph feints in order to force your opponent into parrying out of fear of an accel or stab. These morph feints are particularly effective leaving you unable to chamber them as morphs counter chambers and the accels for each of these weapons are so fast that you are expected to early parry in order to block. The constant gamble of having to read these lightning fast morph feints and maintaining and maintaining this gamble on whether your opponent is going to commit to their attack or not is simply not fun nor engaging when dueling. Your best hope is to outstam them but more often than not you wind up dead after unsuccessfully reading 4-5 feinted accels/morph feints. These weapons require extremely little swing manipulation that require any skill outside of learning the most basic of accels. When some attacks come so fast that you are expected to "early parry" or gamble that your opponent is going to commit to an attack in hopes that your parry will go off early enough for you to block their attack, there is something fundamentally wrong with the game. Most successful fighting games try to avoid these gambles as much as possible as rng, though fun in small healthy doses, can lead to the player feeling like they lose by chance rather than a player feeling that they won/lost definitively by skill.
Strangely enough Kicks can even be tied into the current problems with accels aswell. Players, especially at the high tier, have noticed that kick are very over powered; with the ability to force 50/50s and steal initiative from your opponent kicking effectivly has become a staple of high tier play. In regards to accels, kicks force the player whose attacking to have to worry about kicks while they still have initiative. For instance if I decide to drag, ideally, it should be on my opponent to react to that drag and block it in order to regain initiative before attacking again, instead the opponent is able to easily gamble a kick during your attack and interrupt your drag hard punishing you for using swing manipulation. This leads to a disincentive to drag as they now are forced to be on attack and defense while dragging, as opposed to acceling where you are able to punish any kick attempt instantly.
This meta of acceling is further reinforced by the mere practice time it takes to execute these attacks successfully. Having personally trained many new mordhau players I quickly realized the time and dedication that is required to accel at the highest level is a mere fraction of the time it takes to learn how to drag at a high level. Its hard to blame a newer player (who only uses weapons such as long-sword, alt baxe, poleaxe or similar super fast weapons) as they find huge amounts of success simply by staring at the floor and riposte acceling. It seems ridiculous to me that I can teach a player to accel well at near top tier level in an hour but in order for them to drag effectively it requires literally hundreds of hours of practice. The skill ceiling for this game gets significantly hampered by this style of combat and its frustrating seeing these duelers top fragging on a duel server while barely using any swing manipulation at all outside of top tier duel servers like cashmates where massive drags are required in order to get around chamber feint to parry. Dueling casually has become annoying as these players do well while only using a fraction of the tools available to them. But how can we blame them when it simply works.
Tying other frustrating mechanics such as third person or true comboing 1 handed weapons and you are able to get near frame perfect accels that require reaction times faster than any person not wired on caffeine or adrenaline could parry. I understand that finding a balance for accel speeds can be difficult as it can easily render the balance of swing manipulation uneven in the other direction, but my goal for this post would be to see the devs move towards a meta closer to 50% accels and 50% drags rewarding those who execute and use mind games (such as conditioning and well practiced swing manipulation) rather than the uneven balance of staring at the ground with every weapon praying your attack will be faster than they are able to react with the occasional casino drag as a mix-up. We shouldn't reward those who have a higher hertz monitor or better ping unfairly and for those who are stuck at with pings around 50-60+ ping and a 60 hertz monitor the game can feel unplayable at times. (I know this is predominantly focused more towards duels but the effects do bleed into more casual play like insta maul head shots which I know so many players complain about)
Finally I hate to be that guy who points out a problem and neglects to provide solutions so here are some ideas I had in mind in order to remedy this problem. The first and probably most obvious would be a global release time reduction that would result in a slowing down and increase in "readability" of all weapons. A second suggestion and probably the hardest would be a fundamental rework of many of the animations used by weapons that involve more of the body possibly or some other visual indicator on whether an attack is about to begin. And lastly, my personal favorite, a possible adjustment to hit boxes preventing players from starting an attack within another players hitbox. This would hopefully punish those who love to face hug as hard as they can while reposting acceling overheads within the model of their opponent (otherwise known as an insider.) Much akin to the underhand wessex removal change with the introduction of hitstop on over drags I would hope to see a similar hitstop mechanic on those who over accel in this manner. This would force players to use proper footwork along with good swing manipulation in order to pull off the ridiculous accels we've become accustomed to today. Sadly I'm no game dev but figuring out collision within the windup of a swing would be undoubtly extremely difficult so I doubt a change in this form will ever take place.
I want to end this by reminding everyone this is just my opinion as well as those around me and from my experience this is a pretty big problem in the game. If there are any questions about what I wrote I would be happy to help I know some of the terminology can get confusing at times but I'll try my best to explain. I do love this game dearly and hope to see some fixes to these problems soon. :)
PS: Though dated and specifically describing mordhau in a much earlier state I think this video also provides a good partial explanation of the problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLoxheVshFQ
PPS: Since this post is starting to catch some steam I wanted to also point out the fact that all hitstop weapons currently have a broken hitbox making them even more difficult to read. The biggest offender would be the pole axe with evening star being a close second. The hit box of the weapon is infront of the accual animation and this can be seen especially well when you are acceled in the head. This just further adds to the problem of accels being too fast as those particular weapons get some weird buff to their accels as timing a parry on these kind of attacks become even more annoying.
PPPS: I also want to mention how ranked dueling has kind of become a joke among high tier players because the servers that are used are something like 60tic rate, half of the standard for most duel servers a quarter of the 240 tic rate I run on the servers I play on privately. On top of not being able to get a consistantly even ping between yourself and your opponent it makes ranked close to unplayable as you are farmed by some guy with a longsword staring at your feet the whole time.

Trying Marvel Strike Force has reinforced my appreciation for SWGOH

I tried MSF, for science. Some popular YouTubers, MobileGamer in particular, keep going on about how MSF has SWGOH beaten in most departments, so I wanted to see for myself.
The visuals and animations are arguably better, I'll concede that (though the characters have some weird bloom effect). If feels more slick and exciting, brighter colours. SWGOH wins for music, however (John Williams, no contest).
That's really where it ends, for me. Take the Star Wars vs Marvel argument out of it.
The premium currency of cores (crystals) has half the value in MSF ($99 gets you 8,630 cores, vs 15,710 crystals). That wouldn't matter if everything was cheaper in MSF, but it's not - refreshes still cost 50, followed by 100, and the daily free income certainly appears to be lower.
In SWGOH, hard nodes are capped at 5 attempts before you have to refresh, easy nodes allow for unlimited sims. MSF caps their "easy" nodes as well, at just 10 attempts. So you're paying to refresh energy and you're also paying to refresh all nodes. This really bothered me.
The drop rates for characters and gear seem about the same as SWGOH. In MSF's favour, it does give out more free "orbs" which contain character shards, but they're random, so it doesn't help you to focus farm a particular character, which becomes more of a problem as the character pool grows larger (which it does, every month).
Focus farming is kind of important, because in SWGOH you only need 330 shards to 7 star a character - in MSF you need 810! You can solve this problem by purchasing packs, and the shards do NOT come cheap.
Levelling up your characters to max in MSF is not always feasible, because you quickly run out of gold. Credits in SWGOH are less of a bottleneck. You can solve this problem by purchasing gold orbs, of course.
Speaking of purchasing, limited time offers pop up on your screen constantly! You are regularly being spammed with full screen banners that you have to manually close, every time you open the game or view your roster.
The biggest issue, of course, is red stars. They offer a massive boost to the character at the highest red star levels, in the same way that relics do in SWGOH, but they are completely random to obtain. Every red star orb is a gamble, it could be a 1-red-star garbage character, or a 7-red-star god tier character, but the odds are severely stacked against you. You can pull worthless duplicates, and the stars are not "additive" - pulling 3 stars when you've already got 4 doesn't increase your stars.
So MSF feels even more like a casino than SWGOH, by a significant margin. In fact, the YouTubers who spend thousands on red star orb openings openly exhibit the gambler's fallacy, talking about "seed theory", etc.
Finally, "more content" - the ultimate criticism levelled at SWGOH. But MSF has only added two major game modes in the last 12 months, and one of those is alliance war. From what I can see, 99% of MSF's "content" is new characters, which we happily dismiss as "not content" in SWGOH.
They do have Blitz, which enables you to spend far more time playing the game if you choose, and enables you to use literally all of your roster - I think an optional time sink, with trivial rewards, would similarly work well for SWGOH, and eliminate the "nothing to do" complaints.
TL;DR:
All of this has simply reinforced to me, as one of SWGOH's most open detractors at times, that we haven't actually got it so bad over here. I'd much rather be playing SWGOH than MSF, and I honestly hope that CG never borrow the RNG-based progression models used in MSF.
The grass isn't always greener, and it wasn't in this case. The YouTubers want to push whatever game they can make the most money streaming, and MSF just fits their model better - it doesn't reward the player better. I'm sticking with Star Wars.

Offerwall revisted part 2

After the first post, I replied to most of the comments and decided I'd try a few more games, while the first post had some mixed reactions, it seemed more positive and helpful to others than not. Well, you know you want to feed the machine for WoL and Death Machine after all... or maybe you already did and you're just wanting to rebuild that stash for Kilfe, FFTv2, or whoever. I have a few suggestions and tips for each. Do note that it's not up to me what's shown on your wall, or why numbers super fluctuate, I'm only trying to share advice on what has worked for me, to make this easier for you. A couple of the comments were... very aggressive as if I stiffed you, sorry for taking all the good stuff I guess? Be aware that the potential numbers I listed was what I got, you may get more or less, I'm guessing as more do or skip a challenge the numbers alter to reflect the popularity. I apologize for not labeling it clearly again, but this is on the Android paywall, I understand that for whatever reason, Apple has shafted it's users, sorry.

One Punch Man 2.0 - Beat 5-4 within 1 week. Fairly straightforward challenge, some of the worlds get kinda big, but if you like OPM, you might dig this a bit, like any gacha game there are tiers of characters and some will help you finish this challenge faster than others. 3 x 3 party grid, field 5, and turns are based on the position on the grid up right, far right, bot right, up middle etc so you have some control on altering specials and turn order. Several codes out there will help you fill up your party faster. Every 4 stages is a miniboss, so 1-8, 1-12 etc, usually the following 3 are much easier... unlike Idle Heroes, you can go as far as your party takes you. Also BIG note, the challenge does vanish from your offerwall... it still paid out pretty quickly on completion. codes
Potential 1260 visiore, took 1 1/2 days, I feel like I had a really strong party, some of my guild mates took 3 and 4 days, ymmv a bit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Left to Survive - Level 6 base in 10 days. Probably the most fun out of all the games I've played lately, a bit unique (at least to me) in gameplay. The game is half base builder, have weapon upgrades to shoot zombies in an old arcade style shooter. I thought this challenge would take longer, but it seems when I hit rank 4 an anniversary event opened up. Did this challenge enough to hit 18000 tier (10k oil as a reward), which also gave me enough points to purchase several things from the event shop. I was scared at first to redeem anything, as I was certain I'd lose materials over my cap... I have roughly a 3k supplies and oil cap, so 10k was quite a lot... the shop had 100000 supplies for like 250 tokens, I had 1000, on top of this, the shop also had 10x 1 hour speed ups for 300, bought that twice, and finished really quickly. The game will force you into 1 pvp match, and attempt to have you raid someone, you can back out of the raid, it'll break your peace shield. The anniversary event should be going on for another 3 or 4 days. Overall different, kinda fun, different change of pace, pretty easy to complete within the peace shield time limit... even easier if you take advantage of the anniversary event.
Potential 1620 visiore, took about 12 hours, was scared to lose resources otherwise it'd have been about 10~
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vikings: War of Clans - Train any T3 unit, no time limit. Do note theirs a timed version as well, but oddly enough it pays LESS, so why hurt yourself on rushing? On top of you only get 1 builder, which as limiting as that is... wasn't the worst issue. That said this one is super time consuming... usually with base building games you need to quickly upgrade your keep/castle to upgrade your barracks to build higher tier troops, not the case here... you need to do that AND research it in the tower. The costs of even the T2 units (and you have to unlock ALL of them) is astronomical, at this point I was getting about 1500 resources an hour, and hitting nodes on the map for about 8k of 1 type per hour. Each T2 (that I can see) is 48 hours to complete, 50k of all resources and 90k silver. It's disgusting, and I imagine the T3 will be even worse. So not only is this gated on time, the resources needed is pretty staggering, you also only get a 3 day shield. Getting attacked may be a problem, they won't get any of the normal resources due to your storage protection... but silver isn't protected until rank 21, so if you're struggling to hit 90k multiple times and possibly even more, it could become a problem. You can join a clan and someone might send you silver, but most of the people I've seen in chat are pretty... derpy to say it kindly. Overall I'd pass on this one, even without it having a time limit I'd still say pass.
Potential 1822 visiore, currently at 2 1/2 days... I wager at least another 7 to finish, more if I become a target... at least it's not timed, but who wants to add onto the stress?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Afk Arena - Train any Legendary hero, no time limit. A bit of luck with this, the upgrade system is just like the OPM one, but just in case you don't try that... 2 of the SAME rare (blue), makes a rare+, any 3 rare+ of the same element makes an elite (purple), 2 of the SAME elite, makes an elite+, 3 elite + of the same element makes a legendary. This game also has a lot of codes that you can get a bunch of quick units. I recommend selling any green tier units for hero shards and using the shop to buy random blue tier units... you should be able to get most/all of them. Push as far as you can in the story, the tower, and the maze event, it too gives tokens to buy randoms (or save up to buy an elite dupe, this will depend on your pulls of course). This isn't too bad, very similar to Idle Heroes in the sense that after the first hour or two, you only need to collect, push, recruit more units every 8 or so hours. Not a hard challenge at all, part of it is luck on pulls, maybe you'll finish faster, maybe you'll need to level a lot and really grind out every crystal you can, it's hard to say... but they do get codes fairly often and it's not timed, so it could be a refreshing break. Do note this challenge also vanishes off of your wall, but you'll still get paid. codes
Potential 756 visiore, finished in 1 1/2 days. Just finished about 30 min ago, but was credited before I finished this post. I doubled up this game while doing Vikings after the first day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also not saying to do or don't, but it seems that someone got lucky...
Lord_Xashen
The "Billionaire Casino Slots 777: Free Vegas Games" one for reaching Level 200 is bugged? I grinded to Level 162 and when I swapped over to check the WotV shop for WoL Shards, the Visiore was sitting in my inbox.
Edit: Not complaining

Total visiore earned to date - 14688, I'm sure I'll try a few more, just they'll have to wait, I move Monday and some of these can be pretty time intensive. I'm considering going for one of the Star Trek ones, and another base builder... once I've settled in of course.
Again, I'm happy to reply to comments or pms if something needs further explanations, or even if you have a story you'd like to share as well.

DanMemo News - June 16, 2020 - 3rd Anniversary Details!

Check out the DanMemo Discord for the live translations!
Credit to Cyb in the Astraea Discord for making the information easily accessible in one channel!
Before we go any further, a couple quick notes.
- There are some minor spoilers for the story of the 3rd Anniversary event. This includes a rather vague summary of the story and character reveals. Wanted to give you that heads up.
- We do have Unit Details. As per the usual, I will be giving my own evaluation of the units. You by no means have to place weight in my opinion of the units. I am in a Top 5 NA Familia and have played since Day 1. But that doesn't change that I have been VERY WRONG before, nor does it change that there are people who are significantly better at this game than I am.
- Lastly, this is going to be LOOOONG. Just another heads up. Ok, let's get into it.

1 - 3rd Anniversary!

Astraea Record: The Rise of Evil
Story Synopsis
Event Details
(Going to be getting details on both the Astraea Familia as well as some bits about the Zeus and Hera Familia)
New Theme Song - (Sang by Ryu Lion's Voice Actress)
---
Characters Seen In the Story
---
NEW COMBAT MECHANIC
We need to talk about this new combat mechanic before we talk about the units, since multiple of them use it.
(ADDITIONAL ACTIONS)
You are going to see units that have abilities that read something like this.
"& For 2 actions after this, additional effect of [Foe] Low Wind M.atk"
There is now an "Additional Action Phase". The clarifying details they provided are below.
- During the additional action phase, more than 1 character can act at once (via these additional actions)
- The additional actions cannot be removed (like assist skills)
- The additional actions do not increase the SA gauge
- After using an SA / combination SA / countering, these additional actions will not be used.
- The additional actions cannot be countered
With those clarifications, I would expect to see this "Additional Phase" at the end of your turn and everyone's actions will all execute at relatively the same time.
So basically, you use an ability that gives you extra actions on your next ability used. You use an ability, and then at the end of turn you get an extra whack/effect.

NEW UNITS
(Strap in)
(Also, I didn't find and we didn't get clear translations for all of the units titles, so I am just going to make a couple of them up.)
---
[Wind of Purity] Ryu Lion
- Stat Block
- She is the Free Unit for the Event
- Get a copy for free, the bonds come from the event
Special Arts:[Foes] Ultra Wind M. Atk with temp mag boost & [Allies] Mag and Wind DMG +40% for 3 turns.
Skill 1 (29 MP): [Foes] Low Wind M.Atk & [self] Mag, Wind DMG +40% for 5 turns.
Skill 2 (41 MP): [Foes] Hi Wind M. Atk with Ultra Uncounter. & [Foes] Str, Mag, Mag Res, Wind res -20% for 3 turns.
Skill 3 (23 MP): [Foe] Hi Wind M. Atk with Ultra Pen & For 2 actions after this, additional effect of [Foe] Low Wind M.atk.
Notable Passives:
- Counters are wind elemental
- Earth Res +25%
- HP and MP 4% Regen every turn
- Worm Killer
(Free Units are normally a notch or two below decent. The same goes for our Best Girl here. [Fight me BeatHokage].)
(She has a subpar stat block, and her skill pool is mediocre at best. A fairly Low Mag Stat and none of regular skills even have Temp Boost. So she is going to tickle at best.)
(I could see her being used as a Sac Unit for Wind Teams that need her S2 but don't have a similar effect. But beyond that, she will at least be an easy for anyone to see/experience the new mechanic.)
(Worm Killer will mean she can at least find some niche use in specific PvE events.)
----
[Scarlet Harnel] Alisa Lovell
- Stat Block
Special Arts:[Foes] Ultra Fire P. Atk with temp GREAT Str boost and Ultra crit. & [Allies] Str, Mag, Fire dmg +60% for 3 turns.
Skill 1 (52 MP): [Foes] Fast Hi Fire P. Atk with Ultra Uncounter. & [Self] Str & Fire dmg +60% + [Foes] Fire Res -40% for 5 turns.
Skill 2 (54 MP): [Foes] Super Fire P. Atk with temp Str boost and Ultra Crit. & [Allies] Critical Rate and Penetration Rate +30% for 3 turns.
Skill 3 (31 MP): [Foe] Hi Fire P. Atk with Ultra Pen and temp GREAT str boost.
Notable Passives:
- Wind Res +35%
- Counters are Fire elemental
- Counter dmg +50%
- Crit dmg + 15%
- Worm Killer
(Yeah... This is just the first unit. There are 5 more... and this is only Part 1 of the Anniversary event...)
(Alise is an absolute monster. I don't know why WFS loves making Fire Units the strongest. But here they go again.)
(Her S1 is one of the strongest single unit damage differentials we have seen. It is a Fast, Safe Hit that will cause her to deal effectively 160% more damage on her own, and also provide a substantial damage increase to the rest of your fire team. Even the mega-self buffers like Aisha and Bete, they only achieve a 140% boost and they are on Low Modifer Attacks that they are likely to get smacked up on. Now, we do have units that buff their damage and lower enemy resistances, but they aren't on the SAME ability. Or they are on non-damaging abilities like Ryu.)
(OH LOOK, THERE'S MORE. Her S2 is going to hit RIDICULOUSLY hard and provides a straight damage consistency buff to the entire crew which she will get on her next use of S2. This WILL hurt more than you think. Especially with her stupid high STR stat.)
(S3 is just a throw-in ST ability so she can be universally useful. SA is a powerful steroid to give units like Idol Aiz even more damage.)
(Alise is strong. Scary Strong. The only thing that might hurt her, is her rather high mana costs. That won't matter for WarGames or Familia Rush. But it will be a constraint in RecordBuster or Seventh Zone. Other than that, she is a juggernaut.)
----
[Vyasa] Ardee Varma
- Stat Block
Special Arts: [Allies] For 4 turns, Agi, Dex +40%, and 50% HP regen. [Allies] Prevents Death if HP > 1%, if HP < 1% this buff is removed.
Skill 1 (241 MP) : Fast Buff [Allies] Prevents death if HP > 1%, if HP < 1% this buff is removed. & [Allies] P.Res and M.Res +30%, 35% HP Regen for 4 turns.
Skill 2 (32 MP) : [Allies] 30% heal. & [Foes] P. Res and M. Res -30%, Crit Rate and Pen Rate -40% for 2 turns.
Skill 3 (39 MP): [Foe] Super Water P. Atk with Ultra Crit & Removes all str and mag buffs except assist skills
Notable Passives:
- 35% dmg reduction on guard
- Fire res + 35%
- HP and MP 5% regen every turn
(We don't get BALANCED TYPE units very often. They are normally a bit awkward because their stats are just a bit awkward. The same is true here. Even more so. Ardee does Physical Damage on her S3, but loses a huge chunk of her P. Atk stat to inflate her Mag stat. This MIGHT make sense if she had a Modifier Style Heal. But since her Heal is just a flat percentage, rather than something like a MID heal, her Mag stat is completely waster. She doesn't even heal on counter, so that mag stat is doing LITERALLY nothing. Now, that doesn't mean she sucks. Good lord.)
(Ok, her S1 costs 241 MP. Which means she is using this ability ONCE. MAYBE twice. That 5% HP/MP Regen will not be enough to cover this cost. It will be a "one-time" save that comes along with a pretty insane team buff. The ability is great in WarGames/ RecordBuste 120+ Difficult PvE / and more. It is a use and forget in WarGames, in everything else, I expect to use it once, and then extend the buff with Priestess/Haruhime.)
(Goodbye Goblin Slayer. You aren't ever needed anymore. Seriously, this debuff is just better. Unless you are fighting with a Physical Based Dark Team, Ardee is going to be better in every other circumstance. Ardee covers both damage types, and her Crit/Pen debuffs are 10% over Goblin Slayer. No matter what, youa re going to want at least ONE copy of Ardee to use as a Sac in PvE events.)
(I expect you will see some WarGames teams that feel unbeatable because of Ardee. But I don't see her as a MUST-HAVE MLB/MHA. She is good and you absolutely want and borderline need one copy to use her S2 for things like RecordBusteSeventh Zone.)
---
[Modest Royal] Riveria Ljos Alf
- Stat Block
Special Arts: [Foe] Ultra Water M. Atk. +70% Skill DMG for every water dmg buff on self & removes all str and mag buffs on Foe except assist skills.
Skill 1 (37 MP): Fast Buff [Self] SA Charge and Water DMG +100% for 4 turns & For the next 3 actions, additional effect of [Foe] Low water M.atk
Skill 2 (55 MP):[Foe] Slow Hi Water M.atk with Ultra Crit with Temp Mag Boost. & [Self] Crit and Pen rate +50% for 1 turn.
Skill 3 (32 MP):[Foe] Hi Water M. Atk with ultra Unguard. & [self] Mag and Dex +50% for 3 turns.
Notable Passives:
- Fire Res +35%
- Counters are Water Elemental
- Crit Damage +25%
- Counter dmg +50%
- Worm Killer
(Good lord that kit is a lot. There is SO MUCH here. Where to start? Ok, let's start with ability order. Her normal "Cycle" is going to be 1-3-2-2-2-2. So let's take the abilities in that order and cap it off with the SA and final thoughts.)
(*This is Probably the first unit that has the Self SA buff that doesn't feel like garbage. Yes, Idol Ais has it, but it is on her SA, so that doesn't count in this circumstance. Riveria is more than doubling her damage while also getting that 100% increase to SA charge. This is an insane self buff. The only question I have here. Is I am not sure on the exact "math" of the Additional Action of a Low Attack. She doesn't have a SUPER Damage modifer on any of her Skills. This is probably because she is going to be doing an "extra hit" because of her S1. I don't know if this is actually better or equivalent. *)
(The other issue here is that I am 99.99% certain you won't be able to extend those actions to additional turns with units like Haru/Priestess. Which means that in order to "maintain" that extra damage. You are going to have to waste a turn reapplying her S1 to get the additional actions. Which, her S1 doesn't deal damage. So again, there is some BIG BRAIN math here to do on whether "losing a turn" to get the extra whack is worth it, compared to just spamming her S2.) - (This won't matter in Riv/Ottarl Recordbuster, where you will have to re-buff ANYWAY, but it will matter everywhere else.)
(Her S3 is a considerable self-buff that puts her total self-buffs up to 150% in straight damage. Which is very considerable. Especially since this S3 is on a High-Damage mod and should have that additional whack on it from the S1. Follow that up with a great throughput buff on her S2. She should be dealing very VERY consistent high levels of damage)
(Her SA is a big nuke. The StMag cleanse is basically meaningless, since you will want someone like Rogue Bell or NY Anya to consistently clear those off.)
(Riveria LOOKS good. But if I sound confused about her actual effectiveness, it is because I am. I can't truly make a verdict on this unit because there is just a LOT of math here that is hard to determine. She needs to use all 3 of her abilities to be "online", compared to people like NY Bete that only need to use 1. That is a lot of "set-up" time. It may very well be worth it, but with this new mechanic and the interaction of that with the lower damage modifiers. It is hard for me to say exactly.)
---
[Strong Back] Gareth Landrock
Special Arts: [Foes] Ultra Earth P. Atk with temp Str boost and Ultra Unguard. & [Allies] P Res and M res +50% for 4 turns.
Skill 1 (187 MP): Fast Buff [Allies] Earth dmg +50% for 5 turns. & For the next 3 actions, additional effect of [75% chance to null a p. atk on allies, except for SA].
Skill 2 (54 MP): [Foes] Super Earth P. Atk with temp Str boost and Ultra Unguard. & [Allies] Removes all str and mag debuffs except assist skills.
Skill 3 (27 MP): [Foe] Hi Earth P. Atk with Ultra Pen. & skill dmg +50% for every str buff on self.
Notable Passives:
- Counters are Earth Elemental
- Thunder Res +35%
- P res and M res +20%
- Penetration Damage +15%
- Worm Killer
(Ehhhhhhhhhhhh. Gareth is... not that exciting. If each unit has a "budget", the majority of his was spent on his S1. Which, don't missunderstand, that Additional Effect will be absolute ASS in WarGames...... if you roll into a Physical Team. But he just doesn't DO much beyond that. The Team-Wide Earth Damage buff is nice. But it is JUST Earth Damage., He doesn't boost anything else at all.)
(We saw some people running [Catty] Chloe to some success, although limited. Same with Halloween Bell. But both have fallen out of Meta pretty hard. Sure 75% is better than their 50%. But it doesn't even happen on his first action. With every team that isn't Stall (and even then...) just frontloading SO MUCH DAMAGE, and a lot of WarGame'sm matches being largely decided in the first turn, maybe the 2nd. I don't see Gareth getting the chance to have an actual impact. If his S1 provided something like P.Res and M.Res while also then giving him this additional effect. He might have a stronger home. But I see him finding a home in some super niche teams, and otherwise being an overall disappointment.)
(I mean, even his SA isn't that exciting. 50% resistance is nice. But Ardee provides 30% on a basic skill. I can't recommend pulling for Gareth at ALL. Maybe get a copy on the idea of using his S1 as a Sac buff for Earth Teams. But beyond that, he just kinda seems bad. I could be wrong, of course.)
---
[Celestial Libra] Astraea
- Stat Block
Assist Effect: [Allies] 30% HP regen, null 1x Phy. & Mag Atk. except for SAs
(Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well. She is really good. She is a WarGames Goddess if there ever was one. We are seeing more and more "mixed Damage" teams, and she gives you a null for each. Her HUGE Agi stat will contribute to the still Agi based Meta. She allows some solid AF frontline protection against basically any team you come up against, and allows you to have backline Nulls that will be even more protection. Yeah, she is pretty insane.)
(As a note. She isn't a MUST HAVE for anything. You could absolutely still have a MURDEROUS WarGames team that doesn't include her. She doesn't do a TON for PvE events. Her HP Regen as an assist is the highest in the game by a WIDE margin. She is great, but not a MUST HAVE.)
---
[Wise Prum] Finn Deimne
- Stat Block
Assist Effect: [Allies] SA charge gain +33%, Str, Mag, Agi, End, Dex +10%
(On the other hand. Finn is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE MLB unit. I can not express enough how absolutely insane Finn is as a unit.)
(Before this, Casino Syr was still the only assist that provided SA Charge Boost. And at MLB she provided 100% increase charge to a single unit. Even basically 2 years after she came out, Casino Syr is STILL used ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Having the SA Boost enables a ton of strategies in things like Familia Rush or Record Buster that just Aren't possible otherwise.)
(Finn is literally just a drastically better Casino Syr. If you aren't using Sacs, you are getting 132% SA Charge every turn. Which beats out Syr by 32%. And even if you ARE using sacs. You are still going to get one 33% boost on the first Sac Unit. Which means, that while you are going to be getting 99% a turn from your units instead of 100%, you would need to go for 33 turns before Syr starts to give you more SA Charge than Finn. Which, I don't want to see the event that asks you to go for 40 turns.)
(Even beyond that. Casino Syr ONLY provides the SA Boost. Finn also comes with a 10% Stat Boost in every category. Sure you might use something like Artemis for a larger STR buff. But you likely won't be getting better boosts in literally every stat.)
(Finn is a MUST HAVE unit that you will need to MLB. He is the all-star unit of the event that will likely be used for 2+ years to come.)
(Also, there is the very VERY real possibility, that him existing completely opens up new strategies. Currently, we just CAN'T get 3 SA's in Familia Rush. Even with units like Tiona that give themselves the 100% SA Charge buff, you still just BARELY come up short. Finn + Casino Syr + A SA Buff Unit, might mean 3 SAs in 7 turns is possible.) - (Looking at you, Riveria-Chan.)

The Scope of 3rd Anniversary Event
(I am not sure how they are defining the "Worth" of these events.)
(DanMachi Seasons are 13 Episodes, and at 20 minute episodes, that is only around 4 hours of "content".)
(If you combine Part 1 and Part 2 of the Argonaut story, you get damn near 7 hours of content. Here they are saying that this is going to be EVEN bigger.)
(Also, just a heads up. This is what we are getting for the next 3ish months.)
No, Seriously, the 3rd Anniversary is going on for like... Ever

(Oh my sweet lord. That took 3 hours and is creeping up on 30,000 characters.)
(I am ultimately pretty happy with the new units. I didn't really have a direct "wishlist" for the new event beyond something we hadn't seen before. I wanted to see something in a new design space, and the "Additional Actions" are exactly that.)
(I am a bit concerned that this 3rd Anniversary is broken into THREE parts) (+1) (That is a LOT of events, and a LOT of units. They have historically pushed the envelope with the Anniversary units, and the Argonaut units are STILL relevant today. I am expecting very similar things with these units. I imagine that Alise is going to just be a staple unit for a LONG time. Finn as well. Ardee will always see use, at least as a Sac.)
(I can only imagine what we are going to see in Part 2 and 3. Especially if we look at just how good the Part 2 Argonaut Units were.)
(Regardless of all that. I am most excited to see the story of the Astraea Familia. Ryu has been my favorite since the very beginning of my introduction to the series. Her Story is one that is only vaguely told by herself, and hinted by others. This will be an absolutely incredible event. I am quite excited, and I hope all of you are as well.)

Last Minute Sideshop TI10 Battle Pass Dota 2 Guide

Hello Dota 2 community and everyone that bought the Dota 2 The International 10 Battle Pass,

here is my last minute TI10 Battle Pass Sideshop Guide before the TI10 battle pass ends for everyone that still hasn´t spend their sideshop gold or forgot that sideshop exists, because while it´s still there, Valve decided to hide it.

Chapters:
1. How to access the sideshop
2. Guide: How to play the TI10 Battle Pass sideshop
3. Closing thoughts and enjoy Arcana

Sideshop TI10 Battle Pass Dota 2 images: https://imgur.com/a/TUuRwri

1. How to access the sideshop
Before you can access the sideshop, you have to go to “Steam“ -> “Dota 2“ -> “Properties” -> “General” -> “Set launch options” -> type in “-console” and thus start Dota 2 with -console in launch options.
Once that is finished, you have to go to the left top corner in Dota 2 and open the settings. Then go to “Hotkeys“ -> “Advanced Hotkeys“ (on the bottom in the middle) -> “Interface“ (right top side) and set a console command for your keyboard.
Finally open the console with your hotkey and type in: dota_show_sideshop
If the console automatically opens when you start Dota 2 you can skip the steps mentioned before.

2. Guide: How to play the TI10 Battle Pass sideshop
The goal is to get 35 blue gems. You can get something between 10-15 blue gems from 3000 sideshop gold.
Now about sideshop, if I had let´s say something between 9000-12000 sideshop gold again I would ALL in on the purple tier 4 Heroes (Necrophos, Dragon Knight, TA, Kunkka, Doom).
You want to have 3 star purple or golden ones. I am making this post, because golden heroes (Techies, Lich, Void, Gyro, Medusa) are extremely difficult to get. I have wasted way too much sideshop gold aiming for that 3 star golden hero that gives me 3 blue gems instead of going for 3 star purple heroes that only give me 1 blue gem, but you see purple heroes way more.
If you go to your TI10 collection you can recycle each Immortal Treasure 1+Immortal Treasure 2+(maybe also Immortal Treasure 3? I haven´t tested it) duplicate for 100 sideshop gold . If you spend 50-100€ on the battle pass and played some games every week in the last months you will end up with a few thousand sideshop gold that way.
If you think about money: One 35 blue gem Arcana, if you are lucky, is a TB/Legion Commander Arcana that costs 30€ on the steam market. So basically if you play your sideshop very smartly you will get an Arcana for free with let´s say 9000-12000 sideshop gold. That means you can spend 100€ for the Battle Pass and get a 30€ item back in return plus everything else that you get for the time you invested into the Battle pass.
Spend your sideshop gold on tier 1 heroes (AM, Axe, Bloodseeker, Drow, Razor) for red gems and three 2 stars tier 4 heroes that will eventually create a valuable purple 3-star hero that gives you 1 blue gem.
The same Tier 2/Tier 3 combined to a 3-star hero give you way more red gems than the tier 1 heroes, but they show up way to randomly. Golden Tier 5 heroes show up very rarely, it´s not worth it you would need 20000-30000 sideshop gold to eventually get a 3-star golden hero that you can use for 3 blue gems (or be very lucky).
Also one thing I noticed, which is very discouraging is that let´s say you have two 2 stars TA and two 2 stars Kunkka and only need one more two star TA/Kunkka to combine them to one 3 star. Whenever you collect one, the sideshop gives you the other one. In the next rounds the other hero will pop up twice or three times and you are like “damn, if only I didn´t collect this one, but the other one”. It happened so often that I don´t think it is coincidence, but the design of sideshop makes you want to feel bad LOL.
Anyway if you get the Arcana you save yourself 30€. Yes you can not sell the item immediately, but in a few months/or a year you can sell it. The restriction on selling dota 2 items is constantly evolving so I don´t know if its 3 months, 6 months or a year right now. Regardless if you get the Arcana you are paying 70€ instead of 100€ for the many months of battle pass experience and basically get a free Arcana if you play your sideshop right.
Note: If you have Dota Plus you will get shards for every Quirt´s / Sithils Reward you claim.
Is it too much that you need to play sideshop very smartly and about 9000 sideshop gold for 35 blue gems? Definetly, but it is what it is.

When Battle Pass was released many people questioned whether it´s worth it to buy it, but if I could do the whole TI10 Battle Pass again you can get 500-700 levels by spending only 100€ easily if you have great time management (aghanims labyrinth refreshes every few days, complete 3 star guild quests daily, do your cavern quests, do the achievements, wagering, rylai spin luck to get battle pass levels, tips, bounties).
You might still say 100€ that´s a lot of money for a battle pass, but it has been a good experience for months throughout a very difficult covid-19 time and let´s say you would do a different hobby, man football shoes cost 100€ and that´s just the shoes without even having trunks or a sport shirt.

3. Closing thoughts and enjoy Arcana
I would not recommend Valve to add Sideshop to 2021 Battle Pass. It is gambling like the slot machines in casinos and addictive.
For the same reason I dislike all neutral items in dota 2. While some are individually OP like Spider Legs, Apex etc. they just drop in the neutral camps at certain times, but you don´t know which one you will get. Same thing happens in sideshop. You know you get tier 1 heroes constantly, but which one? Tier 2-3 sometimes, but also which one? Tier 4 rarely and tier 5 very rarely. You do hundreds, thousands of re-rolls hoping for the hero you need to get your 3 star hero finished and blue gems. But it´s so random and addictive. Dota is for 12+ years old and gambling in casinos is 18+. Same for neutral items in unranked/ranked.
Just a reminder, there was a time in dota 2 without random neutral drops and gambling sideshop in battle pass…

About Slotland Casino [REVIEW]

Slotland is a highly experienced and enjoyable online casino that specializes in slots and video poker games. They have been in business since 1998 which is extremely impressive and it is clear that they are offering a superior product at this point in time. This popular online casino is owned by Slotland Entertainment S.A. which is a well-known gaming company that also owns their sister site WinADay.
Not only does Slotland make their own games, but you will never find these unique titles on any other gambling site. Let’s take a closer look at some of the key ingredients that Slotland is made of and try to figure out why it is that they have been successful for so many years.

Reputation of Slotland

Players Not Accepted: BY, CN, CZ, FR, ID, IN, KZ, LT, LV, MY, PT, RU, SK, TR, TW, UA and VN
Even though they have been in operation since 1998, it appears as if Slotland has made its way onto a couple of blacklists across the internet. When we investigated the casino further, we found that this was simply because their progressive jackpot video poker games play like slot games, and their old roulette games were apparently broken in a way that was unfair to players.
With that being said, there are a ton of gamblers who still enjoy their experience with Slotland and they don’t even offer any roulette games anymore. They are licensed and registered by the Government of Anjouan, which we have to admit we have never heard of before today. This might be because the only online casinos that they have licensed are Slotland and their sister casino WinADay.
After more research we found that this small island off of the southeastern corner of Africa has apparently licensed more than 300 offshore banks as well, so we feel that they are a relatively trustworthy entity. In addition to this, they also are responsible for issuing brokerage licenses, finance licenses, and insurance licenses. The only red flag that we can find is that there is zero information available on the internet about complaint and dispute resolutions from their operations.

Software and Client at Slotland

There is no downloadable software to worry about on Slotland since every game is accessible via web browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Once you make an account and make your way to the game library on Slotland you simply need to click on the yellow “Instant Play” button that is underneath each game to give them a whirl. Unfortunately, there is no option to practice these games for free like most other casinos offer.
Before you begin to play these games you will be prompted to decide whether you wish to allow Adobe Flash Player to open the game. If you do not wish to use Adobe Flash Player, some games will allow you to play the HTML version of the game. Playing on the HTML version will not change the games in any way except that the graphics will be much less impressive. We are shocked at how colorful and clear all of the games are when played in Adobe Flash player since it might be some of the best graphics we have ever come across.
It seems as if the best way that Slotland could improve their software is to add in some more games since there are currently only 61 games in total. This is far below the industry standard, but they more than make up for this deficiency with eye-popping graphics and the fact that you can only find these games on Slotland.

Slot Games at Slotland

Slot Providers: Slotland Entertainment (Proprietary) Slot Betting Limits: $0.01 to $8.50
There are a total of 50 slot games available on Slotland.eu, which is far less than we expected from a casino that has “Slot” in their name. However, the quality of these games and their graphics is extremely high so we will give them a pass for valuing quality over quantity.
The number of reels that you will find in these slot games ranges from 3-reels to 9-reels. The number of paylines that you will find ranges from 8 paylines to 40 paylines.
Many of these slot games share a progressive jackpot which is also shared with the video poker progressive games. Even the games that are not participating in the progressive jackpot appear to come with a ton of bonus features which keeps the games fun and your potential earnings high. A great example of this would be the Zodiac game which does not have a progressive jackpot but still comes with FOUR bonus features.
We are extremely impressed by the innovative nature of some of these games since some of them do not appear to be your usual average slot game. For example, Slotris incorporates the game of Tetris into their slot and your spins determine the shape of the piece that drops next. Another example is the Slot 21 game which incorporates a blackjack mini-game into the slot game.

Table Games at Slotland

It is clear that Slotland does not feel that table games are an important part of an online casino since they left them out entirely. Whether they are correct about that or not is undetermined, but they do offer one slot game which has a blackjack mini-game built into it.

Baccarat at Slotland

Sorry, Baccarat fans. You will not find any sort of Baccarat games on Slotland Casino.

Blackjack at Slotland

Types of Blackjack Offered: Slot 21 You will not find any traditional blackjack games at Slotland Casino since they do not appear to be very fond of table games in general. However, one of the slot games named Slot 21 comes with a bonus blackjack game for those who are really itching to test their luck at this popular two-card table game.

Roulette at Slotland

If you are looking for roulette games, you will have to take a spin at another casino since Slotland does not currently offer any.

Video Poker Games at Slotland

Video Poker Games Offered: Jacks or Better, Double Bonus Poker, Aces & Eights, Deuces & Joker Wild, All American, Tens or Better, Joker Wild, Jacks or Better Progressive, Wild Heart, Striking 7’s Video Poker Betting Limits: $0.10 to $25 per hand
Video poker games are clearly the second most popular game that you can find on Slotland and nothing else really comes close. While you will find classic video poker games such as Jacks or Better and Double Bonus Poker, you will also find unique games that are tough to find on other casinos such as Wild Heart or Striking 7’s.
One of the most exciting parts of this collection of video poker games is that some of them come with a progressive jackpot attached to them. For example, Striking 7’s and Jacks or Better Progressive currently share a progressive jackpot of over a quarter of a million dollars which can only be won by hitting a natural royal flush while simultaneously betting the maximum amount of $10 per hand.
However, you should be warned that the odds of winning the jackpot are not the same as the odds of hitting a natural royal flush. Considering the fact that you need a natural royal flush to win the jackpot, this means that the game designers altered the odds to make these video poker jackpot games more like slot games, which is why some review sites have chosen to blacklist Slotland.

Specialty Games at Slotland

Keno 101 is the only game you will find on Slotland which is neither a slot game nor a video poker game. This popular lottery-style game simply requires you to pick what numbers you think will be the winners and also comes with a Quick Pick option which will select random numbers for you. You can bet anywhere from $0.50 to $10 per round.

Live Dealer Games at Slotland

Sorry folks, you won’t find any Live Dealer games in the game library of Slotland. If you can’t live without having a human dealer while you play, you can check out our list of highly recommended brick-and-mortar casinos here.

Mobile Games at Slotland

There is no mobile app available on Slotland, but you can access the casino through your mobile web browser. All you need to do is download Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to your phone, visit www.slotland.eu and then log into your account to begin playing.
The devices that you can use to access their website include iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Wii consoles. We have never seen a Wii console as an option for an online casino so we give them props for being so innovative in this area.
As is the standard for mobile versions of online casinos, you will not be able to access every game that you normally would from a computer. In fact, the only type of games that you can play on your mobile device will be slot games. However, you will still be able to redeem any bonuses from your mobile device without any issues.

Welcome Bonus at Slotland

The welcome bonus promotion at Slotland gives new players a chance to claim up to $1,075 in bonus funds over the course of their first TEN deposits. This might seem like a lot of deposits, but the level of investment that is required is relatively low compared to other casinos.
On your first deposit, you will be greeted with a 100% match bonus up to $100, since $100 is the maximum deposit for your first three deposits. On the second and third deposits, you will be granted a 50% match bonus for up to $50 in bonus funds each time. For the seven deposits that follow those, you will be rewarded with a 50% match bonus on a maximum deposit of $250 each time. When all is said and done, you will need to deposit a total of $2,050 to receive a total of $1,075 in bonus funds.

Other Promotions at Slotland

Once you have already taken advantage of the Welcome Bonus, you might be wondering what else Slotland has in store for you. The rest of their promotions program involves a tiered VIP, a ton of deposit bonuses, a weekly raffle drawing, and a unique newsletter which provides bonuses to its readers.
This is a fairly well-rounded list of bonus promotions, and if you combine that with the low playthrough requirements on every single bonus it is clear that this program is superior to that of most online casinos. We are extremely impressed with the effort that they have put into giving back to their regular players and highly recommend getting involved with as many of these promotions as possible.

VIP Program

The VIP Program on Slotland provides frequent gamblers with a way to win extra match bonuses, a subscription to the VIP newsletter, higher chances in the weekly draws, and special VIP customer service. The three VIP levels that currently exist are Bronze Level, Silver Level, and Gold Level.
Unlike other casino VIP programs, you will not belong to any VIP level when you first sign-up on Slotland. Once you have deposited at least $3,000 they will consider adding you to the Bronze Level, although this is not guaranteed to get you in since they use other unspecified criteria to decide who qualifies. The final level, otherwise known as the Gold Level, will provide you with 15% cash back, a $200 welcome bonus, a 200% match bonus in addition to all the other perks that Bronze Level players receive.

Newsletter Bonuses

Slotland is smart to realize that most people do not read newsletters that come from online casinos, so they decided to add some incentives to get people to do so. By checking out the monthly newsletter that is posted right on their website, you will be able to find out what the game of the month is and exactly what perks come from playing this game.
Usually, the prizes for this promotion include a match bonus that you can claim twice per day using the code “GOTM” as well as a random cash drawing. For every 100 rounds you play on the game of the month, you will receive a ticket into the random cash drawing where $600 is up for grabs among the four players whose tickets are chosen. Every month these prizes will change and so will the game that you must play to clear the playthrough requirements, so be sure to keep an eye out for any new newsletters that pop up on their site.

Monthly Mystery Bonus

The monthly mystery bonus is another promotion that utilizes the monthly newsletter since the only way to earn this bonus is to play in the mini-slot game that can be found there. The only catch is that you must redeem this bonus during the first seven days of the month in question.
The results of your spins on the mini-slot game will decide which reload bonus will be waiting for you during the following month. The reload bonus that you are given will range anywhere from 30% to 100% for players with a low VIP status while the more experienced VIP players will be rewarded with a bonus that is anywhere from 45% to 150% of their deposit.
>> Claim Free Chip Bonuses <<

Weekday Bonuses

No matter what weekday it is, there is guaranteed to be a deposit bonus that you can claim as long as you currently do not have any other active bonuses. Each bonus comes with its own wagering requirements and is only valid for specific types of games.
On Mondays, you will receive a 50% match bonus using the bonus code “50MOBILE” and you are only allowed to play slot games on your mobile phone. On Tuesdays, you will receive a 60% match bonus using the bonus code “KENO60” and you must clear this bonus using the game Keno 101. On Wednesdays, the match bonus is set at 75% and you have to clear the bonus using oldies slot games such as Booster, Golden 8, Lucky Ducts, and Lucky Stars. For Thursdays, the match bonus will be 40% if you use the bonus code “VPOKER” which can only be cleared using video poker games. Lastly, Fridays will reward you will a 50% match bonus that can be cleared using any slot game of Keno game.

Weekly Free Draw

For every dollar you deposit during any given week, you will be rewarded with one raffle ticket into the weekly free draw. Each Wednesday, a total of 20 players will be chosen to receive prizes and you will have to check your email to see if you won. The first place prize is an impressive $500 while 2nd through 10th place will receive $100 and 11th through 20th place will receive $10. If you are a winner, you will be required to wager your prize 1x before you can withdraw any of the money.

Bonus Terms and Conditions at Slotland

Each bonus promotion on Slotland comes with a different playthrough requirement which is specified on the webpage that is dedicated to that specific promotion. These playthrough requirements appear to range anywhere from 1X to 18X, which is EXTREMELY easy compared to other casinos. In fact, this might be the easiest playthrough requirements that we have ever seen since most casinos set their requirements between 30x and 60x. There also appears to be a very lenient timeframe in which you have to complete these requirements since 90 days is more time than most casinos will give you.
However, just like on most other online casinos, not every game will contribute equally towards clearing the playthrough requirements for each bonus. In fact, the only type of game which will count 100% of your wagers are slot games. Keno will contribute 50% of your bets towards the wagering requirements, video poker games will contribute 20%, and roulette games will contribute 1%.
One strange clause in these terms and conditions that we have not seen before is that any players from the countries of Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Hungary, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Tanzania or the United Kingdom will have playthrough requirements that are 5x as hard as normal. For example, if the playthrough requirement for a specific bonus is originally 10x, players from these countries will need to wager 50x their bonus amount before they withdraw funds.

Customer Support at Slotland

Customer Support Options: Email, Live Chat
There are two ways to contact the customer support team at Slotland and the only key ingredient they seem to be missing is a telephone contact method. However, the Live Chat feature works INSTANTLY whenever the Live Chat button is yellow and says “Live Support Online”. Despite the fact that they advertise 24/7 customer service, this button is sometimes grey and says “Live Support Offline”, so you will need to use email in those instances.
Speaking of email, there are numerous email addresses that you can use to contact them and you will normally receive a response in under an hour which is relatively fast for this method. The email address that you choose to contact will be decided by the issue that you need to speak to them about. For general inquiries, you can contact them at [email protected]. For billing inquiries, you can contact them at [email protected]. Finally, any VIP players will be permitted to contact them at [email protected] which has a quicker response time guaranteed.

Deposit and Withdrawals at Slotland

Minimum Deposit: $25 Maximum Deposit: $100 ($250 after your first three deposits) Deposit Methods: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller Withdrawal Methods: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Check, Wire Transfer, Skrill, Neteller
If you are a cryptocurrency enthusiast, then you will truly appreciate the fact that Slotland accepts three different forms of this digital currency. While it is normal to see Bitcoin on the list of deposit options for an online casino these days it is equally abnormal to find sites that accept Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash.
All deposit methods will be completed instantly and free of charge. They also have the exact same minimum and maximum limits. The only real difference between the cryptocurrency methods, e-wallet methods, and the bank card methods is that your bank might charge an international transaction fee of up to 10% if necessary since all transactions are processed in U.S. dollars.
If you plan on taking advantage of any of the deposit bonuses that we listed in the promotions section above, you will need to enter your bonus code BEFORE making a deposit. You can do this by clicking on the “Bonus Code” option on the side menu once you access your account cashier.
Once you are ready to withdraw the funds that are in your Slotland account there is a total of seven methods that you can choose from. Each of the methods that are available to players from the U.S. comes with a minimum withdrawal limit of $100, which is a little high considering the fact that the minimum deposit is $25. Players from other countries will be able to withdraw a minimum of $25 by using Neteller or Skrill.
When you choose Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Bitcoin Cash as your withdrawal option, your transaction will be processed the very next business day. This is much faster than the check or wire transfer withdrawal methods which will take 5-10 days to process and receive. Therefore, we recommend using one of Slotland’s supported cryptocurrencies so that you can take advantage of the high level of efficiency that these three coins offer. On the other hand, players from other countries will be able to take advantage of the 24 to 48-hour processing times of Skrill and Neteller.
In the event that you have a lucky day and win more than $5,000, you will need to make special arrangements to withdraw your money in increments. The best way to do this is to email them at [email protected] and they will work with you to figure out a payment plan.

Slotastic Casino Full Review

As the brand name itself indicates, Slotastic is an online casino with a central focus on slots. Despite this, the website offers some gaming variety as its library also features a number of table games, video poker, and casino specialties.
This is a RealTime Gaming-powered casino that welcomes customers from all over the world, including the United States. The casino’s About Us page tells us Slotastic appeals to a motley customer base, consisting of more than 1 million registered players since its launch in December 2009.
The casino is home to more than 300 games available for play on desktop computers via its download platform. There is also a native Android app while iPhone users can access Slotastic in their browsers. Slotastic grabs the attention with a flashy yet organized lobby and an intuitive cashier that supports some of the most common banking methods in the world, such as Visa, Skrill, and Neteller. Similarly to other US-friendly gambling sites, this one, too, allows for payments via cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin.
The casino maintains the interest of its players by providing them with a great variety of promotions and bonuses, including several welcome offers. Let’s dive deeper into the bonuses awaiting new Slotastic players.

Slotastic Bonuses and Promotions

Slotastic poses as a great online gambling destination for bonus seekers who insist on having a wide choice of limited-time and ongoing promotions. These include free spins on exclusive slots, instant cashbacks, bonus matches on deposits, and a great loyalty scheme.
New customers can make a pick from three different welcome bonuses. The first offer is geared toward the preferences of slot buffs. It consists of 117 free spins on RealTime Gaming’s classic Bubble Bubble.
This bonus is awarded for deposits of at least $25 with the promo code BUBBLETASTIC. It appealed to us because there are no restrictions on the maximum winnings you can cash out. However, you need to wager the winnings amount at least 10x before you ask for a withdrawal. You can use this bonus code a single time only.
The second option newcomers at Slotastic have is a 150% welcome bonus of up to $300, granted on their first deposits of $25 or more with the promo code WINTASTIC. The bonus is valid on first deposits only and is intended for free play on the available slots and keno games.
It has wagering requirements of 30x the bonus and deposit amounts. There is no maximum cashout limit on the winnings you can withdraw. Only the slots, the scratchcards, and the keno games contribute toward the playthrough, but you cannot use the bonus credits to participate in the slot tournaments for free. The value of each free spin is limited to $0.01 per active line. Bubble Bubble is a 50-line slot, which is to say your bets should not exceed $0.50 per spin.
All bingo and table games like craps, baccarat, casino poker varieties, roulette, and blackjack are excluded. If you play them, the casino will terminate your bonus. The same goes for the video poker varieties which are also blocked from bonus participation. Maximum wagers with an active bonus in your account should not exceed $9.99 or else the winnings will be voided.
The third welcome option is geared toward the needs of new players who are looking to make their first deposits with the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. They can receive a 250% up to $1,000 in free credits in exchange for a minimum deposit of $25 via Bitcoin. The code for this one is BTC250.
The terms coincide with those for the other deposit-match offer, i.e. the bonus is subject to wagering of 30x its amount plus the deposited sum. Only slots, scratchcards, and keno have a contribution (of 100%) toward the playthrough. There is a maximum bet restriction of $9.99. Players from the following locations are not entitled to welcome bonuses – Sweden, Bulgaria, Belarus, Indonesia, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Russia, and Mauritius.
If these perks fail to satiate your appetites for free reel spinning, you can redeem more free spins for the slot Hen House on a daily basis, i.e. once you have finished wagering your welcome bonuses. Players get 10 free spins for a deposit of $10, 20 free spins for deposits of $20, or the maximum of 50 bonus spins for deposits of $50 or more.
You must use the SPINTASTIC promo code in the cashier. Wagering of 30x the winnings is applicable, with max bet restrictions of $0.02 per active payline. The casino’s terms state no maximum cashout applies to this offer.
In addition to these gifts, Slotastic treats reel spinners to a great range of limited-time deposit bonuses, cashbacks, and free spins. As a matter of fact, there are so many offers, it would be next to impossible to cover them all here. It is best for interested players to regularly visit the casino’s cashier where you can see all the bonus coupons that are currently available.
There is also a three-tiered loyalty program you automatically become a part of upon registration. The casino rewards customers with 1 comp point for every $10 they bet on the website. The points can be converted into free credits at a rate of 100 points for $1. Respectively, you need to generate at least 100 points before conversion is possible.

Slotastic Software Providers

If there is one thing most US-friendly online casinos have in common, it must be the software they run on. Slotastic utilizes the software platform of a single supplier, the well-known RealTime Gaming. This is a company with over 20 years of experience in the field of casino solutions development.
The casino boasts a well-designed website that enables you to browse the different gaming categories and locate all the important information with ease. The lobby pretty much has the standard RealTime Gaming interface. After you log in, you get to see the categories of Slots, Table Games, Video Poker, Specialties, Progressives, and Favorites.
The current value of the progressive prizes is displayed in the jackpot meter under the main menu. You can access the cashier with a single click of a button and get to see your available balance at all times. Several useful buttons take you to the live chat facility, the promotions page, and your notifications.
Slotastic gives its players a choice from several options. Customers who intend to play on Microsoft Windows-based desktop computers can download and install the casino’s software, which, unfortunately, is not compatible with any other operating systems. Mac users can load the lobby and the games straight in their desktop browsers.
The casino works just fine in the browsers of smartphones and tablets running on Android and iOS. You can access it in any browser, be it Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari as long as it is up to date and your wireless connection is reliable enough. Slotastic has also released a dedicated application for Android. You can download it from the casino’s website for free.

Slotastic Banking

Banking is one of the aspects where Slotastic Casino definitely bears improvement. We would like to see more deposit and withdrawal options added in the future as befits an operator that supports play from most countries worldwide.
For the time being, Slotastic customers can make deposits with commonly available payment solutions such as credit cards by Mastercard, American Express and Visa, e-wallets by Skrill, ecoPayz, and Neteller, the prepaid Paysafecard, Neosurf, and the cryptocurrencies Bitcoin and Litecoin.
EasyEFT is also available but can be used by players from South Africa only. Another option is to call customer support on the number we have provided in the table above. The support agents will help you deposit over the phone. No additional costs are associated with the deposits.
The minimum and maximum limits depend on the deposit method you use. You can top up your account with $25 to $500 with the credit cards or deposit anywhere between $5 and $2,000 with e-wallets like ecoPayz.
Deposits with Paysafecard can range between $5 and $300 while those made with the Neosurf vouchers have limits of $10 and $250. Cryptocurrency depositors must comply with limits of $25 and $2,500.
There are but a few options where withdrawals are concerned. Players can cash out the wins from their Slotastic accounts with Bitcoin, MoneyGram, ecoPayz, Skrill, Neteller, checks or wire transfers. The minimum limits on withdrawals are $25 for ecoPayz, $180 for courier checks, and $100 for the other supported solutions. The maximum is $2,500 per method ($3,000 for checks) and $10,000 per week.
You have the option to reverse your withdrawals while the requests are still pending. We personally think this works to the disadvantage of some players. People sometimes get tempted to continue gambling until they give whatever they have won back, so manual flushing is always the more preferable option in our opinion.
So what are the processing times for withdrawals from Slotastic? It all depends on what method you use. The quickest way to cash out would be to use the supported e-wallets or Bitcoin where withdrawals take place instantly after approval. Withdrawals with courier checks and wire transfers may take up to 10 business days.
Unfortunately, there is no good news to report where transaction costs are concerned. If you are looking to avoid extra charges, you should withdraw with the cryptocurrency or the e-wallets. The fees associated with the other available withdrawal methods are eye-watering. You have to pay $30 extra per courier check and $60 extra per wire transfer. You might also end up paying additionally for currency conversion since Slotastic works with USD only.

Slotastic Mobile Casino

Slotastic provides mobile players with two options. There is a highly functional in-browser application that requires no additional software installation. This enables you to play without wasting any storage space on your smartphone. You simply have to type in the casino’s address in your browser or scan the QR code posted on the website. Android users can download a native app to install on their devices.
We regret to say there is not much versatility for mobile players at Slotastic, though. The in-browser app is home to 100 or so mobile games, most of which are slots. There are around 15 video poker variations including Deuces Wild, RealTime Gaming’s trademark Loose Deuces, and Jacks or Better.
The mobile casino is short of table games, but you still get to play European Roulette, Suit ‘Em Up Blackjack, Classic Blackjack, and Tri Card Poker. Some of the most popular RealTime Gaming jackpot games have also been optimized for play on the go. The biggest pots drop in the progressive Aztec’s Millions.
You can add games to your list of favorites by tapping the star icons next to the thumbnails. Tapping the info button shows you all you need to know about the games you are interested in, from their volatility level to their themes and special features.
Slotastic’s in-browser app compensates with a simplified, yet elegant and user-friendly design. The circular mobile lobby features oversized round buttons that take you to the different categories of games, the cashier, your favorites, the games you have last played, and the main menu, where you can view your bonus coupons, comp points, promotional messages, and the contact page.
The support chat is accessible at all times via a large-size button that remains glued to the lower right corner of your touchscreen regardless of which page you open. Similarly to the desktop version, the mobile casino can be loaded in English only.

Slotastic Casino Games

Slotastic is a relatively small online casino with a gaming library that comprises around 300 distinct games. Note that the full suite is available via the Windows-compatible download software only. Those who access the casino and play in their browsers are facing half the number of options, with a little over 150 titles. This limited choice makes sense considering the casino uses software by a single supplier only.
There is the standard set of RealTime Gaming titles you can play. Slots make for the largest portion of the portfolio although video poker, keno, scratchcards, and tables games are also available. But enough beating around the bush – let’s examine the gaming library in more detail.

Slots

This casino is called Slotastic for a good reason. It features a solid collection of RealTime Gaming slots with versatile themes, ranging from ancient civilizations and mythology to magical creatures and Vegas lifestyle. Branded slots like Ritchie Valens La Bamba, The Big Bopper, and The Three Stooges are also included.
Slotastic organizes its slot collection on the basis of reel number, features, and jackpot. The 6-reel titles are a must-try including games like Super 6 and Lucky 6. Some of the slots from RealTime Gaming’s Real Series have randomly triggered local jackpots that can drop on any spin regardless of the amount staked. Some of the most appealing slots from this category include Aladdin’s Wishes, Achilles, Ancient Gods, Cleopatra’s Gold, Fire Dragon, Naughty or Nice, and Ghost Ship.
Hairway to Heaven, Naughty or Nice Spring Break, and Polar Explorer have the so-called “Feature Guarantee”. This ensures players will trigger a bonus feature within a designated number of spins. One example is the slot Aztec’s Treasure where the feature meter is set at 150 spins. Players who choose this slot can have the confidence they will trigger a bonus feature at least once every 150 rounds.
The Win-Win feature some slots are equipped with is equally rewarding but in a different way. It gets activated at the end of a round of free spins if you have generated profits smaller than 8x your triggering bet. You need to play all paylines to benefit from the Win-Win feature, though. Some of the Win-Win slots include Loch Ness Loot, The Three Stooges, and Triple Twister.
Slotastic caters to fans of classic slots with several 3-reel titles like Double Ya Luck, Sevens and Stripes, Scuba Fishing, Santastic, and Jumping Beans. Other slot titles that appealed to us include Cai Hong, Bubble Bubble and its sequel, Enchanted Garden II, Eternal Love, Gods of Nature, and I, Zombie.

Table Games

Slotastic is home to a standard suite of table games that features around 18 variants of roulette, blackjack, and casino poker. Baccarat and craps are also available. Fans of the Devil’s wheel have a choice from American and European Roulette where the bets range between $1 and $50.
Blackjack buffs enjoy a greater versatility, having a choice from the standard version of the game, Perfect Pairs, European Blackjack (this is a no-hole-card game), Face Up 21 (RealTime Gaming’s take on Double Exposure), Pontoon, Super 21, Suit ‘Em Up Blackjack, and Match Play 21.
Several variations of casino poker are also available. You can play against the virtual dealers in a game of Vegas Three Card Rummy, Tri Card Poker, Pai Gow Poker, Caribbean Hold’em (which is pretty much the casino version of Texas Hold’em but with an exotic name), and Caribbean Stud. The baccarat and craps games can be found in the Specialties section.

Progressive Jackpot Games

We counted roughly 75 games with local progressive jackpots. This means the prizes are pooled from bets made on the Slotastic platform only. Respectively, you cannot expect gargantuan pots from these games – their prizes typically escalate to four-figure amounts only. Some of the most popular slots with local pots include Small Fortune, Jumping Beans, Rudolph’s Revenge, Samba Sunset, Secret Symbol, Penguin Power, Paydirt, Mermaid Queen, and Mister Money.
You have a more limited choice if massive pots are what you are after. The casino features several slots linked to a wide-area progressive network, with prizes accumulating across all RealTime Gaming-powered websites.
The pots in Aztec’s Millions and Megasaur are symbol-driven whereas the prize in Spirit of the Inca drops whenever it reaches its boiling point. The jackpot of Aztec’s Millions is way overdue since it has not dropped since 2009. The table games Caribbean Stud and Caribbean Hold’em are also linked to progressive networks.

Video Poker

Fans of video poker are catered to with 14 distinct variations of their favorite game including Loose Deuces, Aces & Eights, All American Poker, Bonus Deuces Wild, Bonus Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe, Deuces Wild, Double Bonus Poker, Double Jackpot Poker, Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, and Sevens Wild.
Each of the above-listed games is available in the multiple-hand format, with players having a choice from 1, 3, 10, or 52 hands at a time. Just keep in mind each hand you play requires an individual bet. For example, if you are playing five credits of $0.50 per hand in the 52-hand variant of Jacks or Better, you are practically wagering $130 per round.

Slotastic Licensing and Regulations

Slotastic has not published any information in regard to licensing, ownership, and regulations on its official website, which only works to its detriment. In our opinion, it is common courtesy to inform one’s customers who they are gambling with and under what license. There are no details on who audits the games for fairness and what their theoretical return is. We hope to see higher levels of transparency from Slotastic in the future.
After a little digging on the web, it was established Slotastic allegedly operates under the licensing and regulations of the British Virgin Islands. Customers’ funds and personal information are protected with SSL encryptions.
Slotastic also embraces responsible gambling. Players can self-exclude, take a temporary break from gambling, or set limits on their deposits. The casino does not allow for real-money play from the UK and New Jersey.

Slotastic Customer Support

Slotastic players who need help are facing several avenues of communication with the casino’s support staff. The easiest and quickest way to contact them is via the live chat. The chat facility is staffed at all times of day and night, which is certainly beneficial for the casino’s vast multi-national player base.
The downside is that when all human agents are busy servicing other customers, you may end up chatting with the “friendly” Chat Bot. The latter is pretty much useless since it provides you with a link to the FAQ section most of the times.
You are automatically connected with a real human being as soon as an agent is available, though. The support staff makes an overall good impression with their professionalism and friendliness. You can also drop Slotastic’s support a few lines via email at [email protected]. Support is provided over the telephone as well. The number you need to dial is +1 866 890 6738.

Conclusion

Slotastic has both its downsides and advantages. The biggest positive here is that the casino welcomes play from a huge number of jurisdictions including the United States. Another benefit is that the website is jam-packed with bonuses and promotional incentives. If you are looking for generous offers, this is the place to drop by. We also liked the website’s design. All categories are easy to spot and the games load quickly both on desktop and mobile.
The biggest con here is the absence of regulatory information. As we said earlier, we hope to see this fixed in the future in the interest of transparency. It would have been great if the casino supported more payment options as well.
The gaming library itself is definitely not the most diverse one, with only 150 games in the casino’s flash version. Despite its downsides, Slotastic will appeal to RealTime Gaming fans from the US who insist on fast withdrawals and lots of bonuses.
