Richard Dobatse, a Navy medic in San Diego, dabbled infrequently in stock trading. But his behavior changed in 2017 when he signed up for Robinhood, a trading app that made buying and selling stocks simple and seemingly free.
Mr. Dobatse, now 32, said he had been charmed by Robinhood’s one-click trading, easy access to complex investment products, and features like falling confetti and emoji-filled phone notifications that made it feel like a game. After funding his account with $15,000 in credit card advances, he began spending more time on the app.
As he repeatedly lost money, Mr. Dobatse took out two $30,000 home equity loans so he could buy and sell more speculative stocks and options, hoping to pay off his debts. His account value shot above $1 million this year — but almost all of that recently disappeared. This week, his balance was $6,956.
“When he is doing his trading, he won’t want to eat,” said his wife, Tashika Dobatse, with whom he has three children. “He would have nightmares.”
Millions of young Americans have begun investing in recent years through Robinhood, which was founded in 2013 with a sales pitch of no trading fees or account minimums. The ease of trading has turned it into a cultural phenomenon and a Silicon Valley darling, with the start-up climbing to an $8.3 billion valuation. It has been one of the tech industry’s biggest growth stories in the recent market turmoil.
But at least part of Robinhood’s success appears to have been built on a Silicon Valley playbook of behavioral nudges and push notifications, which has drawn inexperienced investors into the riskiest trading, according to an analysis of industry data and legal filings, as well as interviews with nine current and former Robinhood employees and more than a dozen customers. And the more that customers engaged in such behavior, the better it was for the company, the data shows.

In the first three months of 2020, Robinhood users traded nine times as many shares as E-Trade customers, and 40 times as many shares as Charles Schwab customers, per dollar in the average customer account in the most recent quarter. They also bought and sold 88 times as many risky options contracts as Schwab customers, relative to the average account size, according to the analysis.
The more often small investors trade stocks, the worse their returns are likely to be, studies have shown. The returns are even worse when they get involved with options, research has found.
This kind of trading, where a few minutes can mean the difference between winning and losing, was particularly hazardous on Robinhood because the firm has experienced an unusual number of technology issues, public records show. Some Robinhood employees, who declined to be identified for fear of retaliation, said the company failed to provide adequate guardrails and technology to support its customers.
Those dangers came into focus last month when Alex Kearns, 20, a college student in Nebraska, killed himself after he logged into the app and saw that his balance had dropped to negative $730,000. The figure was high partly because of some incomplete trades.
“There was no intention to be assigned this much and take this much risk,” Mr. Kearns wrote in his suicide note, which a family member posted on Twitter.
Like Mr. Kearns, Robinhood’s average customer is young and lacks investing know-how. The average age is 31, the company said, and half of its customers had never invested before.
Some have visited Robinhood’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., in recent years to confront the staff about their losses, said four employees who witnessed the incidents. This year, they said, the start-up installed bulletproof glass at the front entrance.
“They encourage people to go from training wheels to driving motorcycles,” Scott Smith, who tracks brokerage firms at the financial consulting firm Cerulli, said of Robinhood. “Over the long term, it’s like trying to beat the casino.”
At the core of Robinhood’s business is an incentive to encourage more trading. It does not charge fees for trading, but it is still paid more if its customers trade more.
That’s because it makes money through a complex practice known as “payment for order flow.” Each time a Robinhood customer trades, Wall Street firms actually buy or sell the shares and determine what price the customer gets. These firms pay Robinhood for the right to do this, because they then engage in a form of arbitrage by trying to buy or sell the stock for a profit over what they give the Robinhood customer.
This practice is not new, and retail brokers such as E-Trade and Schwab also do it. But Robinhood makes significantly more than they do for each stock share and options contract sent to the professional trading firms, the filings show.
For each share of stock traded, Robinhood made four to 15 times more than Schwab in the most recent quarter, according to the filings. In total, Robinhood got $18,955 from the trading firms for every dollar in the average customer account, while Schwab made $195, the Alphacution analysis shows. Industry experts said this was most likely because the trading firms believed they could score the easiest profits from Robinhood customers.
Vlad Tenev, a founder and co-chief executive of Robinhood, said in an interview that even with some of its customers losing money, young Americans risked greater losses by not investing in stocks at all. Not participating in the markets “ultimately contributed to the sort of the massive inequalities that we’re seeing in society,” he said.
Mr. Tenev said only 12 percent of the traders active on Robinhood each month used options, which allow people to bet on where the price of a specific stock will be on a specific day and multiply that by 100. He said the company had added educational content on how to invest safely.
He declined to comment on why Robinhood makes more than its competitors from the Wall Street firms. The company also declined to comment on Mr. Dobatse or provide data on its customers’ performance.
Robinhood does not force people to trade, of course. But its success at getting them do so has been highlighted internally. In June, the actor Ashton Kutcher, who has invested in Robinhood, attended one of the company’s weekly staff meetings on Zoom and celebrated its success by comparing it to gambling websites, said three people who were on the call.
Mr. Kutcher said in a statement that his comment “was not intended to be a comparison of business models nor the experience Robinhood provides its customers” and that it referred “to the current growth metrics.” He added that he was “absolutely not insinuating that Robinhood was a gambling platform.”

Robinhood eliminated trading fees while most brokerage firms charged $10 or more for a trade. It also added features to make investing more like a game. New members were given a free share of stock, but only after they scratched off images that looked like a lottery ticket.
The app is simple to use. The home screen has a list of trendy stocks. If a customer touches one of them, a green button pops up with the word “trade,” skipping many of the steps that other firms require.
Robinhood initially offered only stock trading. Over time, it added options trading and margin loans, which make it possible to turbocharge investment gains — and to supersize losses.
The app advertises options with the tagline “quick, straightforward & free.” Customers who want to trade options answer just a few multiple-choice questions. Beginners are legally barred from trading options, but those who click that they have no investing experience are coached by the app on how to change the answer to “not much” experience. Then people can immediately begin trading.
Before Robinhood added options trading in 2017, Mr. Bhatt scoffed at the idea that the company was letting investors take uninformed risks.
“The best thing we can say to those people is ‘Just do it,’” he told Business Insider at the time.
In May, Robinhood said it had 13 million accounts, up from 10 million at the end of 2019. Schwab said it had 12.7 million brokerage accounts in its latest filings; E-Trade reported 5.5 million.
That growth has kept the money flowing in from venture capitalists. Sequoia Capital and New Enterprise Associates are among those that have poured $1.3 billion into Robinhood. In May, the company received a fresh $280 million.
“Robinhood has made the financial markets accessible to the masses and, in turn, revolutionized the decades-old brokerage industry,” Andrew Reed, a partner at Sequoia, said after last month’s fund-raising.

In 2018, Robinhood released software that accidentally reversed the direction of options trades, giving customers the opposite outcome from what they expected. Last year, it mistakenly allowed people to borrow infinite money to multiply their bets, leading to some enormous gains and losses.
Robinhood’s website has also gone down more often than those of its rivals — 47 times since March for Robinhood and 10 times for Schwab — according to a Times analysis of data from Downdetector.com, which tracks website reliability. In March, the site was down for almost two days, just as stock prices were gyrating because of the coronavirus pandemic. Robinhood’s customers were unable to make trades to blunt the damage to their accounts.
Four Robinhood employees, who declined to be identified, said the outage was rooted in issues with the company’s phone app and servers. They said the start-up had underinvested in technology and moved too quickly rather than carefully.
Mr. Tenev said he could not talk about the outage beyond a company blog post that said it was “not acceptable.” Robinhood had recently made new technology investments, he said.
Plaintiffs who have sued over the outage said Robinhood had done little to respond to their losses. Unlike other brokers, the company has no phone number for customers to call.
Mr. Dobatse suffered his biggest losses in the March outage — $860,000, his records show. Robinhood did not respond to his emails, he said, adding that he planned to take his case to financial regulators for arbitration.
“They make it so easy for people that don’t know anything about stocks,” he said. “Then you go there and you start to lose money.”

It's been awhile since I posted because I’ve been grinding the game and vegas happened. Dashy filled expectations of being a young formal and its funny that ppl only see that now. Congratulations to Optic on winning Vegas the event was lit. My old sub is fucked up and I can't make it public now so I made the new one and copied the main posts over and locked them but their here now for history. My last post said I could write one last one until next rostermania about small stuff and some stuff I heard that I thought was fugaze. Its good I waited because it turns out lots of it was true and I heard straight from lots of ppl involved. Theirs not too much to talk about for rosters bc everything is set for the qualifier so the only topic left is rich guy and who he is. No its not Marc Cuban lol. I think hes one of the bigger stories in cod since he caused so much movement and was the reason I made my burner in the first place.

So I worked on this post for awhile now in MS Word so its easier to read and made it into sections since everybody kept frying me over it lol. This is going to be my last post until next rostermania so thanks for reading and hope it’s been fun and thanks to ppl that dm’d me info and helped me figure this out.

If you weren't around for Seattle Rostermania when the Optic roster of Scump, Crim, Formal, and Karma broke up, I heard from multiple people that the plan was for them to actually leave together and join some rich guy. These are the two posts I made about it and if your confused they can help.

(1) When Rich Guy first came up

Before ww2 even started the optic guys weren’t happy with what they were being paid and felt like infinite didnt care about them. They would joke about leaving and talking to other teams but other players thought it was just banter. Then infinite kept part of their paycheck bc part of it said they didn’t have to pay it bc it was a good behavior bonus which lots of players have and the org decides if you behaved good or not and it happened around new orleans. That’s one of the things they were pissed off about along with infinite taking forever to redo their contracts bc they only made 8000 up from 3000 and it was about to end.

Guys in optic started to think they made a huge mistake selling to the wrong group months before.

Then rich guy probably heard about the AMA post. He got someone to get him in touch with the cod roster to see if they were for real about what was said in Crims AMA. Theres a rumor rich guy was one of the ppl that tried to buy optic when they were looking for investors but hecz sold to the rangers guy instead so he knew of the cod team.

(2) CWL Atlanta WW2

So the optic guys talked on skype with rich guy a few times before cwl atlanta which was in march and they planned to meet at the event to talk in person. Supposedly right before they were going to meet infinite decided to drop the halo team and very nearly dropped the cod team the day before the event too. That’s something scump said himself to lots of different players. I heard it was only crim that met in person at first with rich guy on Wednesday before the event and funny theres a post by someone who saw it and posted way before I made my burner account. Basically he saw crim meeting with rich guy at a strip club.

This is going to sound made up but I live in Atlanta and I saw crim having a meeting with a guy in a suit who I think is the ceo of another team. It was the wednesday before Atlanta open and they were both wearing suits. My friends and me sat at a table behind them and we heard them talking about money. they stayed about an hour and when they were leaving his friend in a suit went to the bathroom so i went to crim and shook his hand and said good luck this weekend. He was surprised and it seemed like they went there bc they didnt want anyone to see them meeting. When they left they got into a Roles Royce. I can post more after work if anyone wants to know more...
I didnt think anything of it either when we first saw them but as i watched them it was obvious the guy was from another team. Both him and crim were in suits and i swear I heard crim say he loves the offer or something. This was on wednesay or Thursday night near midnight.
Then on monday one of my friends that was there with me told me that he saw the same suit guy out sunday night with karma and scumpi and that they were talking loudly about teams or something. so my friend brad walked up to them and asked if he could get a picture with all 3 of them. The suit guy said no so my friend said he really wants one with all 3. Karma and the suit guy said no and that my friend could have a picture with just him and Scumpi without the suit guy or else no picture at all. My friend said ok so he just got a pic with Karma and Scumpi. After he got the picture our other friend Travis walked up to the suit guy and told him we saw him and Crim out in suits the other night. He laughed and shook my friend's hand and asked where did we see them. My friend told him we saw them at tattletales and that he said hi to Crim there. The suit guy laughed and smiled and told my friend to keep that secret. My friend asked him which team he was from or if he could even tell them who he was and he smiled and said dont worry about it everyone will find out in about a month then gave a wink. Then Scump got in a car with Silly and Study and left but the suit guy and Karma talked a little more then both of them got in the same uber and said they were going to hang out more at the hotel since it was closing time already.
From what I saw on wednesday night and what my friends saw on Sunday night we all say it was obvious something was happening because of how they were acting all secretive.

One of Crims friends and other pros say he said the post was all true but he took him to an expensive steak dinner first and it lines up with what I know about rich guy. The guys second post says something about rich guy and scump getting into an argument and I can see it happening bc scump is a dick when hes wasted which always happens after events.

Other ppl I talked to said they saw rich guy around the W hotel bar downtown where everyone was staying but didnt know who he was. He was talking to attach but attach was trolling and said he was his cousin when ppl asked him so thats where the intel came from that rich guy was someone attach knew. No one knows why attach was talking to him or why he knew him then either even now.

(3) CWL Birmingham WW2

rich guy took scump and crim out to dinner and smoothed things over. After the team lost they went to the bars and gambled until morning. i heard this is where he upped his offer to them to 20k a month salary each for the next 4 games. Scump and rich guy smoothed out things at the event here bc before that they didnt like each other after atlanta. I heard from a friend of crim that he said scump was rude to rich guy the first time they met in person but I dont know if the argument in the guys second post is the first time they met in person.

This is when formal wanted karma gone and tried to get him dropped since he was costing and gunless would easily be available since rise didnt win yet. Im told rich guy then told crim he only wanted all 4 of them and no one would come close to salary and crim and karma thought all they needed was a team change away from infinite then.

I heard attach say rich guy knew cod would be 5v5 the next year and crim said they would want him as their 5th at the bar in bham. I cant confirm that though but it makes sense on why attach would of been talking to him at Atlanta.

(4) CWL Seattle WW2

I heard rich guy took Crim, Attach, Felo, Dashy, and Study out to dinner at a steak house there then went to a few bars with crim and attach. In the players lounge the optic guys were all saying it was done deal and they were leaving optic. Then we all know what happened with t16 so optic knew they needed a change and thats when the talk of gunless came up with him taking karmas spot but crim and scump really wanted john and octane. John was cool with playing with them but only if it was to the rich guy since he thought hed get so much blame if they didnt win from the fans.

I heard that night they settled on scump crim john and formal and they had a party to celebrate. Karma wasnt told at the time for sure he was getting dropped and wouldnt go to the rich guys team with the others so he still went to the party. We all heard what happened here with a tshirt being made but it wasnt finger paint but was from a stripper party rich guy threw for all the players in the hotel not even those he was going to sign. I heard it got freaky and one of the strippers had green hair. Karma was high and going off no sleep so he went down to the lobby and hecz saw him and told him to take the shirt off and told other non optic players to go back upstairs and stop being retards. There is more than one shirt that got made which is why karma says the one in the pic isnt his.

Then scump crim and a bunch of other players went out to the bars with rich guy. I heard they partied Wednesday Thursday Saturday and Sunday nights based on what other players said especially Saturday and Sunday ppl saw them get back to the hotel real late with rich guy. Everyone thought it was a done deal when they left on Monday morning.

Sometime after that I made my first post about optic leaving. scump and crim were insisting on john and octane but then john couldnt get out of his contract with LG because there wasnt an even trade with him unlike octane for formal. I heard thats what then scared rich guy off because if formal and karma stayed on optic together and he only got scump and crim then he wouldnt get a league spot since it would stay with optic bc of the rules. So in the end formal got traded for octane and scump and crim got new deals. Then optic tried to get Zooma but faze wouldnt sell him. So optic bought methodz contract because tk didnt pay for it and then tried to trade him for zooma bc the other faze guys like methodz. Faze said no and then told Zooma they will give him a raise to 20k a month. He said they had their locks on him and wouldnt let him go. So optic then tries to get Kenny but his contract said he had to give notice of using his buyout 20 days in advance and that meant it would be after roster lock so he was stuck too. So optic got stuck with methodz as the 4th. I heard from an optic content guy they asked karma to come back but he said no.

(5) CWL Anaheim WW2

Im not fully sure if rich guy was here but I heard after this event is when he hired apoc to work for him once the season was fully over ( https://twitter.com/Apoccc ). Apocs been in the scene for a long time and knows everyone so it makes sense why hed do it. It also makes sense because after the season it turned out unilad got sold to someone else and got rid of esports.
I heard rich guy hung out with a few of the owners from other teams but I never got real confirmation.

(6) Pro league stage 2 WW2

In July between weeks 7 and 8 for group B (optic eu unilad rise lg col MF TM) that nameless had a house party on some random night and rich guy went with the optic and eu guys. I think he took all of them to dinner. One of the players said he was the only one at the party that wasnt a caster or a player. I heard they went out to a small bar after.

(7) Champs WW2

This is where it gets good. So Apoc was supposed to start working for rich guy officially when unilad was knocked out but the unilad owner let him do work for rich guy earlier since unilad was leaving esports anyway.

Rich guys original plan was to build around john and attach and start talking to them after the event. Then they were going to go after slasher bc with those 3 on board they could get anyone they wanted to fill out the roster. Also behind the scenes I heard nade was already offering players to come to 100t before champs even started offering 10k. This is the start of the bidding war for lots of players that happened during rostermania.

That fourth they went after was scump. After optic was eliminated in groups scump and methodz were the only ones who stayed while crim and octane flew home the next morning and skipped the autograph session at champs. So its just scump and zinni hanging out with nothing to do so I heard they partied alot with rich guy. From what I know scump and rich guy are actually friends and drink together so thats what happened Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. A player who heard some of their talks said that scump was still unhappy with optic and wanted to leave and start his own thing like nade did with 100t so he went to dinner on one of the nights with rich guy and heard he still wanted a team. Rich guy and apoc told him they wanted to try to try to get john attach and slasher. I heard scump was going around the venue the next few days telling ppl thats what he was going to do.

Someone said John told them rich guy asked him if he would play with scump and he said yes. The thing is so many ppl say they hate each other but their good friends and hang out alot in cbus and other places. Fans always get things wrong or blow things up when its not a big deal. Ppl thought scump hated jkap but in cbus he started working out with him bc he had back pains and it helped. Or ppl thought formal was mad about karma piping lisserboo when it was opposite but no one its not a big deal. One thing true is the players completely hate larew’s +1 even mlg staff bc she’d get drunk at the venue and cussing security out for not letting her back stage just bc larew was on optic.

Scump couldnt leave champs after losing in groups was bc his mom and friends and family were coming into town to watch him. They were seen talking to rich guy at the venue and I heard he took scumps whole group of 15 ppl out to steak dinners the next few nights.

The story about scump being drunk on Sunday at the hotel bar talking to karma was true but he also talked to lots of players like apathy and asked him to team too but its normal for scump and all the players to be wasted on Sunday nights after events. Lots of them talk fugaze but ppl say scump was serious and also said it wouldnt be with optic but sometimes he blacks out so idk. He was carrying a printed contract with him from rich guy and I heard the offer was 50k a month for 3 years plus a small ownership part of the org. Supposedly scump agreed and wanted it down in writing so rich guy flew one of his lawyers in to write it up and give it to him. Lots of ppl are going to say 50k a month is crazy but for scump its definitely not just look how he got 30k subs on twitch plus all the other stuff he brings to the table for exposure like playing with guys like jack and shroud and ninja. Scump is the face of optic and cod so its good to see salaries going higher.

(8) Rostermania BO4

Everybody leaves champs and rostermania started alot earlier then before. At the start optic didnt know if it was 4v4 or 5v5 yet so they were planning for 4v4 although they found out earlier than the other teams. They thought they had scump locked up but he went awol for about a week and I heard thats bc john and him were calling around to see who would want to play with them. I heard a rumor of slasher scump john Kenny as a 4 and with karma as the 5th.

I heard this is when rich guy had players sign NDAs if they wanted to negotiate so thats why no one really said anything about the details or who he is because he can sue them if they go public. Someone close to one of the players confirmed it. I also heard from another person close to one of the players that rich guy scheduled face to face meetings where him apoc and their lawyers would fly to see the players and talk. One of apocs former players told me rich guy moved him to the USA from England full time to work for him and go around doing face to face meetings with everyone for 2 months. The players were also supposedly shown detailed presentations about marketing stuff salary investments and other things.

Around then John and Scump decided they wanted Clay instead of slasher so he became the new target and they wanted to get it done quick before other teams made moves and so scump could get away from optic without it dragging out. Now idk exactly what happened but I heard scump started getting worried they couldnt get players out of their contracts with their current teams so he decided to go back to optic when crim and him decided to get Teej and dashy instead then add karma if it went to 5.

So karma was still the most wanted FA out there still and everyone wanted him…eu, rise, LG, faze, etc, but for a time he agreed to go to 100t and Nade but then decided he didnt want to go there because he didnt believe in one of the players they signed. John and Karma also wanted to play together so nade thought karma could bring john with him but john said no and he would only go to rich guy or stay on LG. He would only go to rich guy because apoc is his close friend for 8 years. Karma liked it too bc he knew apoc for about a decade. Here’s Karma talking about Apoc in an old video...

So Karma and John got talking and also decided they would want to play with Clay so that became the new core for team rich guy. I heard they stopped going after attach because faze wouldnt sell him and they thought he would be too slow and be a bad fit. Even though rich guy supposedly really liked attach…remember how they were talking in atlanta before anyone knew anything…I heard he wanted to be hands off when it came to roster moves and let the staff decide that. Someone who talked to him told me he wanted to hire the experts and trust their advice and just be the guy paying the bills.

Karma supposedly didnt know what he wanted to do so rich guy wanted to fly to see him with Apoc.

This is unconfirmed but theres lots of evidence to support it that rich guy flew clay to frisco to help meet with karma in person. Clay tweeted out this pic of a steakhouse...

So Karma agreed on the core 3 and they decided to try to get Gunless since they heard they were leaving the scene after selling teej to optic and knowing they didnt have alot of money to invest into cod. Gunless didnt want to go to team rich guy because he wanted to play with formal on LG. Someone said rich guy was going to buy him anyway for 200k but then changed his mind when he found out gunless’s contract would end on December 31st so he’d only have him for one event then he could walk away for free to LG if he wanted. The word on the street is the core 3 convinced rich guy to still go after him bc if they placed top 4 at vegas they would be locked into a league spot and it would be risky for him to tank and be stuck in the qualifier where anything can happen.

That weekend is also when holly had her birthday and rich guy wanted to help win over holly so karma would sign. The story is rich guy took hollys group out at a club with vip service that cost maybe 5000 then a strip club afterwards. She told them to not take pics of him and apoc and it was some big surprise. She supposedly spent alot of time talking to him on a couch in the corner. I posted more details about it here before...

i know alot of u are wondering who rich guy is bc crim confirmed today he exists and partly confirmed what i posted about him going over to karmas house and seeing he was already there. i dont know exactly who it is but a few ppl DMd me a few likely suspects that i wont name without more proof. maybe u guys can help out here. When i posted about crim running into him i thought it was insane timing but now i think rich guy was there in frisco for a week.

A few weeks ago someone DMd saying that their friend in frisco met rich guy but he didnt know who he was at the time. the story is holly had a birthday where she invited her twitch subs to show up. she said the plan was to go out to a nightclub to meet up with ppl and she didnt say who it was. when they got there some big guy met them outside and walked them past a huge line right into the club and they had vip and bottles of goose and champ all night on the mysterious dudes tab at a vip table while holly hung out with him for alot of the night talking on the couch. then they went to a strip club. my source said his friend swears this was rich guy.

This was the weekend before the 5v5 announcement so they thought the roster if it stayed 4 would be john karma gunless clayster. If it went to five and faze still wouldnt sell attach, I heard they were looking at jurd, felo, bance, shockz, censor, or slacked. Someone told me rich would of wanted dashy bc hes a fan of his but he knew he was already signed to optic.

Remember rich guy was paying for apoc to live in the usa the whole time so I heard he stayed there in frisco for 2 weeks. The announcement happens that week that its 5v5 and I heard rich guy and apoc watched it happen with the barlows in their house. Optic guys said karma didnt answer his phone all day so crim decided to go over there the next day to find out what was going on. All the teams were calling him trying to get him but I heard from someone close to holly that karma really wanted to go to rich guy by then. What really happens is crim goes to karmas house in the morning but karma wont see him bc hes playing pubg and wont get off the game bc he didnt want to talk to him. Supposedly crim sat there for 4 hours and decided to leave when he figured out karma wouldnt talk. He almost gets to his car when another car pulls up and its rich guy, apoc, and a lawyer in it…they get out and holly says hi to them then they walk inside the house. So the word starts spreading and optic thinks karma is gone for sure if rich guy is going to fly in like that so higher ups at optic start calling karma and he still doesnt answer but then holly tells them they all went out to dinner. I heard hecz was about to go over there and whoop rich guys ass. Somebody sent me a clip from hollys stream showing apoc was at least in the house. Holly also talks to someone who tries to stay off camera.

The next day I heard optic started talking to other players and their big target was apathy. I heard aches got really mad and called karma and told him to sign back with optic because NV wanted to buy EG and it got stuck when optic talked to apathy. But apathy is too loyal at times and decided to stick with EG/NV after a raise even though splyce was trying to buy that roster because all their contracts expired in November and add jurd to them. So optic called eu about arcitys and he wasnt available and gunless wanted to go to LG but nade and rich guy would start a bidding war for him.

So I heard john and clay were happy and rich guy started doing more face to face meetings with the other players he wanted.

Another week goes by and Karma had a 150K buyout, clay had 100K, and johns contract was ending so no buyout at all. Then optic announces the next vision episode will have the cod roster announcement and everyone that was supposed to be on team rich guy thought it was gunless. Im not sure on the timing of this now but I heard sometime around rich guy then offered 300k each for zooma and attach for a five of john, zooma, karma, attach, clay but faze still wouldnt sell them.

So all the players involved with team rich guy were watching it and were surprised when karma was announced...it aired during the last week of September. The story is he got really nervous because john’s contract ended second week of October so that was the earliest rich guy could sign him and he was scared he would get left out of competing again and was really stressed about waiting 2 more weeks. Someone really close to the other players told me they were surprised because the night before they all group texted and said everything was good including karma. After that clay wanted to stay on eunited and that left rich guy with just John. I heard he called up faze and offered them 800k for their whole roster but they said no. Ghost and splyce originally tried to buy them too. So that would of left john and a bunch of leftovers. 100t bought slasher and signed enable to complete their squad and Rise left the scene and sold loony to splyce and gunless to LG. I heard thats when rich guy decided it wasnt worth signing john + am players so he backed out. All ended good for john though bc I heard he got a raise to 25k. I heard rich guy was pissed but hes still friends all the guys but doesnt talk to karma but is friends with holly.

I also heard rich guy offered 250k about a week after champs to get John out of his contract 2 months early but LG wanted to keep him and thought they could convince him. I gotta say steve LGs owner has big iron balls bc he could of lost john for free instead of taking the 250k but it worked out for him in the end so huge win for him. I think if karma smoked some green and chilled for a few weeks until john was free then the most likely roster would have been the John/Karma/ClaysteGunless core with rich guy taking a gamble on Gunless and adding one of Felo/Slacked to them because Shockz wanted to finish school and splyce wasn’t going to sell jurd and ended up getting loony, temp, aqua, and lamar.

So karmas decision to go back to optic changed the fates of eU, LG, Optic, NV, possibly faze, and mostly rich guy. A different decision could of changed this season too….last year john signed his contract with LG late and it was for exactly 1 year. If he signed it 2 weeks earlier it obviously ended 2 weeks earlier and rich guy could of signed him before the 5v5 announcement and that probably could of gotten karma to commit because he wouldnt of been nervous about optic and not having a spot anymore. From there rich guy pays for clays buyout then the rest is history.

Im also gonna say optic with J in charge is in a much better place now and the players feel like their being taken care of unlike during ww2. I heard rumors orgs are still looking for money and some reached out to rich guy to see if he would invest in them instead of making his own but either way I hope he comes into the scene if its franchise next year since he has balls trying to come in and get the best guys like nade did and makes things interesting.

All the pros in the scene benefitted from nade and rich guy being around since they all got raises and other bonuses so their happy but I can see orgs being mad lol but thats what happens when you have nade opening at 10k then splyce coming in at 12k then rich guy going in at 20k lol.

(9) CWL Vegas BO4

So rich guy was at Vegas but idk if he went inside at the event. He was at the casino with players and a few people came up and talked to him. He was doing $500 and $1000 roulette and blackjack so he attracted attention. I heard he was mainly playing with Felo, Clay, and Revan but holly and nufo came up to bet on roulette with them too. One egirl told me they talked to him and he was nice and bought people some shots. All the players including optic guys hung out with him at the hard rock bar after the event and then took them out for a wild night at the nightclubs and strip clubs and apparently he did that every night with different people in the scene. A caster told me they approached him and said his name and acted like they already met before when they didnt and he was chill about it. People were calling him Edgar in person including Scump.

He sold his technology company for $650 million he founded and now is a executive at the company that bought his so hes one of those silicone valley guys.
Hes sort of young and likes to party and goes out to clubs so lots of players like to hang around him.
Hes about 6’3 and looks like hes half thai or hispanic. Hes like half white.
He lives in New York city and travels alot and people have DMd me saying he has lots of business in Atlanta, Houston, San Francisco, Singapore, and all over Europe.
He owns a bunch of other businesses now like fast food restaurants and more tech companies.
He has alot of investment in EA and other stocks
People said hes real smart and a chill guy but some people were intimidated by him.
A cod team was supposed to only be the start for his org since they wanted to expand to every game quickly.
I have what I think is his full name but don’t want to post it and link their non burner twitter without confirmation in case it’s wrong. If one of the players involved wants to secretly DM with me to confirm then I might come back and post it.

(12) Final Thoughts

I think Rallied is the guy that got edgarich guy into contact with optic since he was seen with him at the strip club in Atlanta after the event and hanging out with him in Seattle. It might be Felo too.
I think Methodz knows what Scump and EdgaRich guy talked about at champs since I heard he went to dinner with them and they had nothing else to do since they got fried in groups.
Optic is damn good and Dashy will soon be the best player in the game no question.
I think its baller he went to meet players in person to sign them like its the NFL.
There’s other small things that eventually led to Optic needing to make a roster change because it got so toxic. One of them Scump said was that Formal didn’t share the MVP money from Champs when all of them agreed to do it before. What Nade said before about players wanting to be friends with teammates first also happened here when Formal didn’t want to chill outside the game like Scump does with Crim, John, or Saints.
I heard edgarich guy was planning on getting into cod during BO4 but tried to get in early when he saw the original Optic roster was available because of Crim’s AMA.
EdgaRich guy was really going to spend over a million on buyouts on top of salary which is fucking crazy.

Week 40: Experts in authoritarianism advise to keep a list of things subtly changing around you, so you’ll remember.

This week’s list is not the longest, but it is certainly the most heartbreaking. Trump’s comments on Charlottesville legitimized the worst of us, and spawned a watershed moment for our country. His remarks were met with widespread condemnation and reactions, and precipitated a mass exodus of corporate CEOs, wiping away any lingering doubts that Trump’s goals were ever truly linked to job creation. For the first time, real questions about fitness for office were raised out loud by both sides. This week in Trump’s shrinking, chaotic regime it became even clearer that Trump answers to no one but himself. He continues to attack and attempt to intimidate Republicans into submission, as part of his continuing efforts to consolidate power.

In an impromptu news conference on Charlottesville late Saturday afternoon, Trump said, “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.”
White supremacists and neo-Nazi leaders cheered Trump’s “on many sides” comments, taking his words as a defense, or even as a tacit approval, of their action.
On Sunday, the WH issued a statement to “clarify” Trump’s Saturday comments, saying Trump condemns all forms of “violence, bigotry and hatred” while naming white supremacists, KKK, and neo-Nazis.
32 year-old Heather Heyer was killed Saturday after a car driven by James Fields rammed into a crowd of counter-protestors in Charlottesville. Nineteen others were injured.
Daily Caller and Fox News deleted a post titled, “Here’s A Reel Of Cars Plowing Through Protesters Trying To Block The Road,” which included a video encouraging people to drive through protests.
Two state troopers, Lieutenant Cullen and Trooper Bates, who were keeping watch on the demonstrations in Charlottesville, were killed when their helicopter went down.
On Sunday, a candlelight vigil planned for Heather Heyer in Charlottesville was cancelled due to a “credible threat from white supremacists.”
Neo-Nazis disparaged Heyer, and the KKK celebrated her death. Neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer was taken down after activists, led by my Sunday tweet, contacted domain hosts Go Daddy, Google, etc.
After US hosting companies refused to host The Daily Stormer, the website briefly relocated to Russia, for which they thanked Trump, before being kicked off there too. China rebuffed them too.
In the wake of Charlottesville, numerous tech companies including Facebook, Google, Spotify, Uber, Squarespace and many others took action to curb use of their services and platforms by alt-right groups.
A Unite the Right organizer was disavowed by his family. Several marchers who were identified on social media lost their jobs. Others were asked to denounce their activities or were expelled by colleges.
On Sunday, Trump’s popularity hit a new low at Gallup with 34% approving and 61% disapproving (-27).
On Monday, Sessions said the car ramming into Heather Heyer and 19 others “does meet the definition of domestic terrorism” under US law.
On Monday morning, Merck’s CEO resigned from Trump’s American Manufacturing Council saying as a “matter of personal conscience, I feel a responsibility to take a stand against intolerance and extremism.”
Later Monday, Trump tweeted @Merck is a leader in “higher & higher drug prices,” and “taking jobs out of the U.S.”
Later Monday and Tuesday, four more CEOs resigned from Trump’s American Manufacturing Council over his handling of Charlottesville.
Trump countered, “I have many to take their place. Grandstanders should not have gone on.” Trump offered no new names publicly.
On Wednesday, NYT reported the CEOs on Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum held a morning conference call to discuss whether to disband the policy forum. The Manufacturing Council planned a call that afternoon.
Before the policy forum, and possible manufacturing council could formally disband, midday Wednesday Trump tweeted “rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople,” he was ending both.
On Thursday, the WH announced the Presidential Advisory Council on Infrastructure, which was still being formed, would not move forward.
On Monday, Trump said he is “seriously considering” a pardon for ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio, saying, “He’s a great American patriot.”
In the aftermath of Charlottesville, the Phoenix mayor called on Trump to delay his planned rally next week, saying Trump’s plan to pardon Arpaio could “enflame emotions and further divide our nation.”
Minutes after the Phoenix mayor’s statement, Trump tweeted a link for tickets to his Phoenix event.
Advocates said there has been a spike in reports of anti-LGBTQ violence since Trump took office. As of August, there are already more hate-related homicides than in all of 2016, excluding Pulse.
A Virginia high school sent a letter to parents saying selection for AP and Honors classes would at least partly based on race.
On Monday, the Holocaust memorial in Boston was vandalized for the second time this summer.
On Monday, reading from a teleprompter, Trump gave his third version of comments on Charlottesville, calling the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists “repugnant” and saying, “racism is evil.”
On Tuesday morning, Trump tweeted then deleted an image of a train running over a CNN reporter.
On Tuesday at Trump Tower, with Mnuchin, Chao and Cohn by this side, Trump turned what was supposed to be remarks about his infrastructure plan into an “off-the-rails” news conference on Charlottesville.
Reversing himself for the fourth time in four days, Trump said “I think there’s blame on both sides” — insinuating that the “alt-left” was just as much to blame as white supremacists and neo-Nazis.
Trump claimed not all the white supremacists and neo-Nazis were bad people, “you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides.”
When asked about Bannon, Trump said “He’s a good man. He’s not a racist,” and that the press treats him, “frankly, very unfairly.”
Trump claimed alt-right protestors had a permit, but counter-protesters “came charging in without a permit” and “were very, very violent.” WAPO gave the claim that counter-protestors had no permit 4 Pinocchios.
Trump equated taking down the statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville to taking down statues of Washington (“George Washington was a slave owner”) and Jefferson (“Because he was a major slave owner”).
Trump’s staff, expecting brief remarks on infrastructure, were stunned by his action. One senior WH official told NBC, Trump “went rogue.”
POLITICO reported Trump was “in good spirits” Tuesday night, and felt the “new conference went much better” than his Monday speech.
Alt-right leaders praised Trump’s Tuesday comments. Richard Spencer said he was “really proud of him,” and David Duke tweeted, “Thank you President Trump for your honesty & courage to tell the truth.”
Axios reported within the Trump WH, Bannon unapologetically supported Trump’s instinct to blame “both sides,” and that he and Trump “instinctively searched for “their” people in that group of protesters.”
Mnuchin’s Yale classmates wrote an open letter calling on him to resign immediately, saying Trump “declared himself a sympathizer with groups” whose values are antithetical to Yale and decent human beings.
In a Republican primary in Alabama Tuesday, Trump’s chosen candidate Luther Strange, who he very publicly supported, came in second.
On Wednesday, Pence cut his international trip to Central and South America short to come home. The stated reason was to join a national security meeting on Friday, although rumors flew with other theories.
On Wednesday, Fox News’ Shep Smith said his show “reached out to Republicans of all stripes across the country today” and couldn’t find a single one willing to come on and discuss Trump’s Tuesday comments.
In a letter, fmr CIA director Brennan told CNN’s Blitzer Trump’s comments on Charlottesville were “despicable,” and that Trump “is putting our national security and our collective futures at grave risk.”
On Wednesday, the Generals of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and National Guard tweeted to condemn the racist violence in Charlottesville, declaring the nation’s armed forces unequivocally against hatred.
Sen Corker, one of Trump’s first senate supporters who was also under consideration for VP, said Trump “has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence” to be a successful leader.
European leaders, including Merkel and May, denounced Trump’s comments on Charlottesville. Martin Schulz of German said Trump “is betraying our Western value.”
Rep Steve Cohen of TN, a ranking member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice, introduced articles of impeachment in response to Trump’s comments on Charlottesville.

By Friday evening, 16 charities had pulled their events from Mar-a-Lago, costing the Trump Organization hundreds of thousands, or possibly millions in lost revenues.
Citing violence at Charlottesville, Texas A&M and the University of Florida cancelled scheduled speaking appearances by white supremacist Richard Spencer, both citing safety concerns.
On Thursday, Michigan State University denied a request by Spencer to rent space on the campus for a September event.
Students and graduates of Lehigh University students petitioned trustees to revoke Trump’s honorary degree, citing Trump’s “both sides” remarks.
Thousands gathered at UVA on Wednesday night for an unannounced candlelight vigil. They chanted “love wins,” and sang “We Shall Overcome” and “Amazing Grace.”
At a funeral for Heather Heyer mother, Susan Bro said, “They tried to kill my child to shut her up. Well, guess what? You just magnified her.” Bro told NBC Thursday she has received death threats from hate groups.

Trump continued to tweet about Confederate statues after his news conference, “can’t change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson — who’s next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish!”
The great-great grandchildren of Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis and Stonewall Jackson called for Confederate statues to be removed. They also condemned the white supremacist and violence in Charlottesville.
They also suggested statues be moved to museums. Bertram Hayes-Davis, great-great-grandson of Jefferson Davis suggested, “In a public place, if it is offensive and people are taking issue with it, let’s move it.”
In the days following the Charlottesville alt-right rally, 13 US cities and Duke University said they would remove Confederate monuments. Several other cities are considering same.
After a terrorist attack in Spain, Trump tweeted about what General Pershing did when terrorist were caught: “There was no more Radical Islamic Terror for 35 years!” Politifact rated Trump’s claim, Pants on Fire.
Trump continued to do battle with Republicans, targeting Flake who he called “toxic” and “WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate,” and Graham who he said “can’t forget his election trouncing.”

James Murdoch donated $1mm to the Anti-Defamation League in the wake of Charlottesville. As many of social media noted, Fox News played a major role in stoking the hate of far-right extremists.

In an interview Thursday, former VP Gore said if he could give Trump one piece of advice, it would be to resign.
On Friday, the 17 remaining members of Trump’s presidential arts and humanities panel resigned Friday in protest over his Charlottesville comments.
Trump’s WH responded late Friday, saying Trump was going to disband the arts and humanities panel anyway.
Trump and Melania said they will not attend this year’s Kennedy Center Honors in December. According to Huckabee Sanders, the decision is meant to allow “honorees to celebrate without any political distraction.”
The decision was made after numerous honorees announced their intentions to skip or protest if Trump attended. After Trump’s cancelation, event organizers said, “We are grateful for this gesture.”
NBC called this week Trump’s “worst week yet,” and said he was more isolated than ever.
Hope Hicks took over as the interim WH communications director, as Trump continued his search to replace Scaramucci. Hicks is the fourth person in that role.
Trump’s personal lawyer John Dowd forwarded an email with secessionist Civil War propaganda. The email also stated the group Black Lives Matter “has been totally infiltrated by terrorist groups.”
Trump’s DOJ issued a warrant to DreamHost demanding the company turn over all IP addresses related to DisruptJ20.org, a website used in planning actions to interrupt Trump’s inauguration.
A week after the inauguration, the DOJ had asked for information such as people’s physical and email addresses and DreamHost had complied. DreamHost’s lawyers called the latest request a “complete overreach.”
NYT reported Mueller, for the first time, is seeking to interview past and current members of Trump’s WH beyond Manafort, including members of the communications team.

NYT reported on an investigation by Ukrainian investigators and the FBI of a Ukrainian malware expert named “Profexer,” for his part in a network of hackers allegedly engaged by Russia to hack the US election.
Also under investigation is a Russian government hacking group, Advanced Persistent Threat 28 or Fancy Bear, believed to be involved in the DNC hacking. Much of the work was outsourced to private vendors.
In the first know hitch, Mueller’s special counsel lost a top FBI investigator, Peter Strzok. It is unclear why Strzok stepped away.
A US District court judge ruled that as part of a libel suit brought by Webzilla CEO Aleksej Gubarev against Buzzfeed, Steele could be questioned about the funding and sourcing of the dossier.
Rep Rohrabacher, an advocate for the Kremlin, said he plans to brief Trump on his meeting with Assange. Assange told Rohrabacher that he was not behind the DNC hack, and that the Russians were not involved.
Assange is trying to strike a deal so he can stop living in asylum at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. In Week 23, Sessions said the DOJ was preparing charges against Assange whose “arrest is a priority.”
The National Parks Service reversed a ban on plastic water bottles at national parks. The move came after confirmation of Trump’s Deputy Interior Secretary, who previously represented Deer Park Water.
In a tweet, the Trump Organization featured a photo with the caption, “From our Presidential ballroom to intimate historic room,” to advertise meeting and event space.
Raising ethical concerns, Justice Gorsuch is scheduled to address conservative groups at Trump Hotel DC in September, less than two weeks before the court will hear arguments on Trump’s Muslim Ban.
On Friday, Trump friend and ally Carl Icahn resigned as a special adviser to Trump, although Icahn had done nothing in that role. The WH said Icahn had been fired on Monday.
Icahn resigned hours before The New Yorker published a piece on his conflicts of interest (see Week 20). The head of a watchdog group said, “This kind of self-enrichment and influence” was “unprecedented.”
Trump tweeted photos from Camp David of him signing the Global War on Terrorism War Memorial Act. Of the 14 people at the signing, there was only one woman and not a single person of color.
In an interview with The American Prospect on Wednesday, a venting Bannon referred to white supremacists as “clowns” and “losers.”
Contradicting Trump, Bannon said on N. Korea, “there’s no military solution here, they got us,” and added, “it’s just a sideshow.”
In new interviews, Bannon said he viewed the post-Charlotte racial strife and turmoil as a political winner for Trump.
On Friday, Trump fired Bannon. According to Bannon allies, he submitted his intention to leave the WH on August 7.
Axios reported Bannon met with the billionaire Mercer family for five hours Friday in New York and “together they will be a well-funded force on the outside.”
Bannon told Bloomberg that he would be returning to run Breitbart, and that he would be “going to war for Trump against his opponents — on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America.”
Bannon told the Weekly Standard, “The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over,” saying Trump will not achieve his campaign promises. Bannon vowed to continue the fight from the outside.
In an op-ed titled, “I Voted for Trump, And I Sorely Regret It,” past avid supporter Julius Krein wrote of his disillusionment with Trump, and the realization that Trump would not achieve his stated goals.
Right-wing radio host Limbaugh backed white nationalists and told his 26 million listeners that America is on the “cusp of a second civil war,” blaming international financiers who are trying to bring down America.
On Saturday, Boston hosted a Free Speech Rally organized by conservatives and libertarians at Boston Commons. Friday, Mayor Walsh said 500 police officers would be there, and urged people to stay away.
Thousands of counter-protestors marched through downtown Boston to condemn white supremacists and neo-Nazis. Police estimated 15k peacefully marched.

At the behest of Bannon, Trump aides Prince and Feinberg, both who benefited from military contracting, developed an alternative plan to the one proposed by the Pentagon for Afghanistan. Their plan was to rely on contractors (mostly non-American) instead of American military troops.
Twitter users who were blocked by Trump’s personal account are suing him in federal court, saying he violated their First Amendment rights.
Trump tweeted that Comey had “leaked CLASSIFIED INFORMATION” and “That is so illegal!” The Columbia law professor who received some of Comey’s memos, said the memos he received were not classified.
Saturday evening, NYT reported that Donald Jr., Kushner and Manafort met with Natalia Veselnitskaya, a lawyer with close Kremlin ties, at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016.
Donald Jr. initially claimed the meeting was related to an adoption program. Kushner had failed to disclose the meeting in his security clearance. Manafort, who was Trump’s campaign manager at the time, had no comment on the meeting.
On Sunday, NYT reported Donald Jr. met with the Veselnitskaya after being promised damaging information on Hillary. The meeting took place two weeks after Trump became the GOP nominee.
On the question of whether Trump campaign colluded with Russia, NYT noted Donald Jr.’s meeting is “the first public indication that at least some in the campaign were willing to accept Russian help.”
A spokesperson for Trump’s lawyer told the NYT, “the president was not aware of and did not attend the meeting.”
Donald Jr. hired attorney Alan Futerfas to represent him in the Russia probe, adding to a long list of attorneys defending Team Trump.
WAPO reported the acquaintance who set up the meeting was Rob Goldstone, who was active in the Miss Universe pageant and works as a manager for Russian pop singer, Emin Agalarov.
As news was breaking on Donald Jr., Russia’s Lavrov threatened that Russia is “considering specific measures” as retribution for Trump not returning two compounds seized by the Obama administration.
On Tuesday, Donald Jr. preemptively tweeted his email exchange in setting up the Trump Tower meeting. Donald Jr had been contacted by the NYT for comment, asked for more time, then tweeted.
Shortly after his tweet, the NYT story broke. In addition to the emails, the story details the changing accounts by all involved parties.
Per emails, Donald Jr was offered information that “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” and “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
Donald Jr.’s response was: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”
Donald Jr. forwarded the email chain — with the subject line, “Re: Russia — Clinton — private and confidential” — to Kusher and Manafort ahead of the meeting.
The email was sent by Rod Goldstone on behalf of a mutual friend, Emin Agalarov. Emin is the son of Aras Agalarov, a real estate tycoon referred to as the “Donald Trump of Russia,” who has close ties to, and was awarded the “Order of Honor of the Russian Federation” by, Putin.
The meeting took place in Trump Tower, one floor below Trump’s offices. Trump continued to deny knowledge or involvement all week.
According to emails, the meeting took place at 4:00 pm. Donald Jr. said it lasted 20–30 minutes. At 4:40 pm same day, Trump tweeted in response to a tweet by Hillary, “where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted?”
Julian Assange tweeted, “Contacted Trump Jr this morning on why he should publish his emails (i.e with us),” indicating he has been in contact with Donald Jr.
WAPO reported Donald Jr. changed his story about the meeting with Veselnitskaya four times in the first four days of the story coming to light.
NYT reported Trump personally signed off on Donald Jr.’s first statement Saturday night saying his meeting with a Russian lawyer was to discuss adoption policy — a known lie.
After releasing his emails, Donald Jr. gave an interview to Fox News telling his side of the story. Trump called his son “a high-quality person” and added, “I applaud his transparency.”
Yahoo reported that Trump had a Moscow real estate deal with Aras Agalarov, the same Russian oligarch who set up the meeting with Veselnitskaya, to construct a Trump Tower in Moscow.
A letter intent was signed by Trump, then as the presidential campaign got underway, Donald Jr. was assigned to take the lead. Ivanka also looked at spots for Trump Tower Moscow with Emin Agalarov.
The deal did not happen because the Russian economy floundered, in part because of US and EU sanctions imposed after Crimea and Ukraine. Doing away with US sanctions could help put the deal back on track.
In April 2016, Emin and Aras Agalarov told WAPO they wanted Trump to be elected. Emin said Trump’s election would be “an amazing breakthrough” that would forge peace between Russia and the US.
CNN reported Mueller’s investigators plan to examine the meeting and email exchanges disclosed by Donald Jr. as part of their broader Russian-meddling investigation.
On “The Late Show” Tuesday night, Joe Scarborough announced he is leaving the Republican Party. “It’s a shame there are so few Republicans speaking truth to power,” Scarborough tweeted.
NYT reported Tuesday that Trump’s long-time personal attorney and lead counsel for the Russia probe, Kasowitz, has been the target of Trump’s frustration and ire, and may resign.
ProPublica reported that as Trump’s lead attorney on the Russia probe, Kasowitz is unable to see classified information because he isn’t seeking security clearance, and may have trouble getting one.
On Wednesday night, Kasowitz threatened a stranger in an email, saying “I’m on you now,” and “Watch your back, bitch,” etc. Later, he apologized through a spokesperson, saying he was working late that night.
McClatchy reported that Congressional and DOJ investigators are focusing on whether Trump’s campaign pointed Russian cyber operatives to certain voting jurisdictions in key states.
Kushner, who is already a “person of interest” for the DOJ investigations, will be investigated for his role overseeing the digital operations, and for possible cooperation with Russian efforts.
Of note, the Russians knew to target women and African-Americans in two of the three decisive states, Wisconsin and Michigan. Clinton lost WI, MI and PA by a combined 77,744 votes out of 13.9 million ballots cast.
WSJ reported that in light of Donald Jr. emails, US intel investigators are re-examining conversations captured in the spring of 2015 of Russian government officials discussing associates of Trump.
Rep Brad Sherman of CA introduced articles of impeachment against Trump. Rep Green of TX was the only other Democrat to join.
AP reported that Trump’s mysterious friend “Jim,” who Trump frequently referenced on the campaign trail and more recently ahead of his trip to Paris, may not actually exist.
Trump faced heavy criticism after telling France’s first lady during his first state visit to the country, “You’re in such good shape.”
Democratic members of the House Judiciary Comm sent a letter to Sessions asking why the DOJ settled a $230mm Russian money laundering case against Prevezon for $6mm two days before trial in May.
Veselnitskaya represented the family of Pyotr Katsyv, whose son owns Prevezon. Democrats want to know is she was involved at any point in settlement negotiations.
Prevezon was part of Russia’s largest tax fraud scheme. Magnitsky, the lawyer who exposed the alleged fraud, was jailed, tortured and killed in Russia. Veselnitskaya has been trying to undo the Act in his name.
The case against Prevezon was initially brought by US attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by Trump.
Axios reported Trump’s outside legal teams wants him to wall off Kushner from discussing the Russian investigation with Trump.
On Thursday morning, NPR reported Sessions had defied a judge’s order by not supplying the required forms to show his foreign contacts. The court’s 30-day deadline expired Wednesday.
Later that afternoon, a day late, the DOJ did release one heavily redacted page of Sessions’s SF86, showing only that he had checked a box “no” on whether he had met with any foreign governments in the past 7 years.
New Republic reported that Trump’s relationship with Russia dates back to the 1980s, and over decades Russia has laundered money through Trump’s real estate and casinos.
Gorka told CNN that Trump is considering returning the Russian compounds because “we want to give collaboration” a chance. US intel found evidence the compounds were used for spying on the US.
Thursday, Trump said he would invite Putin to the WH at the right time. Trump also continued to not acknowledge that Russia who hacked our election, saying it could have been China or N. Korea.
NYT reported that Kushner has supplemented his federal disclosure form three times, adding more than 100 foreign contact names.
Chicago Tribune reported that Peter W. Smith, the GOP operative who detailed his efforts along with members of the Trump campaign to get Hillary’s deleted emails from Russian hackers, committed suicide.
Smith’s interview with WSJ’s Shane Harris was the first report of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Smith’s suicide happened nine days after the interview occurred.
Smith left a curious suicide note, citing a bad turn in his health, and writing, “NO FOUL PLAY WHATSOEVER.” Harris said when he spoke to Smith, he had no indication “he was ill or planning to take his own life.”
NBC reported at the June 9 meeting, Veselnitskaya was accompanied by Rinat Akhmetshin a Russian-American lobbyist, and former Soviet counterintelligence officer with ongoing ties to Russian intelligence.
AP confirmed that Akhmetshin attended the meeting. Donald Jr. had not disclosed Akhmetshin’s attendance, not had Kushner in his forms.
Daily Beast reported Akhmetshin was previously accused in federal and state courts of orchestrating an international hacking conspiracy.
Grassley, chair of the Sen Judiciary Comm, called on Donald Jr. to testify as early as next week. Grassley said he would subpoena him if necessary.
Grassley filed a complaint against Akhmetshin in March, saying he was effectively engaged in lobbying work as an unregistered agent for Russian interests. Akhmetshin lobbied for Congress to repeal the Magnitsky Act.
FP reported that the private email account of a top US intelligence officer working in the secretive arm of the State Dept focusing on Russia, was hacked. Russia is suspected of being behind the hack.
Yahoo reported Trump lawyers knew about the emails three weeks ago, although Trump claimed he learned about them, “a couple of days ago.”
Friday, CNN said there were at least 8 people at the Donald Jr./Veselnitskaya meeting.
On the Friday Fox News hand-off from Shepard Smith to Chris Wallace, Smith said “Why is it lie after lie after lie?….The deception, Chris, is mind-boggling…Where are we, and why are we getting told all these lies?” Wallace answered, “I don’t know what to say.”
Veselnitskaya told WSJ that she had been meeting regularly and sharing information with Russian authorities and Russia’s top prosecutor, Yuri Chaika — the “Crown prosecutor” referenced in Goldstone’s emails.
Amid a legal team shake-up, Trump hired Ty Cobb to become point person inside the WH for matters related to Russia, and Kushner lawyer Jamie Gorelick stepped away from representing him on Russia.
Maddow reported on a lawsuit filed by United to Protect Democracy on behalf of three citizens against Trump and Stone for their role in the public sharing of information hacked by the Russians. If it goes to trial, discovery could reveal information on how stolen info was disseminated.
Friday, a judge order a retrial of the Code Pink activist who was arrested after she laughed during Sessions’s confirmation hearing.
Lawyers for the only known DREAMer to be deported, filed supporting statement showing ICE agents wrongly forced him across the border.

The EASHL mode in NHL 16 has been revamped to use stock classes with no customized attributes or height/weight. You customize the look of your skater then select a build at game time. Builds have their own pros & cons and an average height/weight for that type of player. Attributes are based on an average second liner, though speed and acceleration are the same across the board.
Club customization is limited to existing logos and jerseys - no custom color schemes or jerseys at this time. You can select your home ice and team play-by-play name.
On 9/9, EA announced a badge/prestige system for EASHL where players advance from Level 1 through Level 50 based on points, milestones, and other tasks that award XP. Once players hit level 50, they advance one prestige level and go back to level 1. Badges show up on leaderboards and in the dressing rooms & side select screens.

HUT Returning User Bonus

On August 28, EA confirmed that the returning user bonus is in the form of gold packs. This year, returning users will receive up to 10 mega packs based on coin balance, number of games played, and collection size for your NHL 15 team.
Packs contain 25 untradeable gold items, 4-8 rare, with a minimum 7 players.
By comparison, NHL 15 was up to 30 packs, 12 cards (including some silver cards), 4 rare with 3-4 players per pack.

NHL 16 improves on the arenas from last year with unique elements and bug fixes. The team is continually updating an Arena Atmosphere page with screenshots of some of the changes and additions.
PNC is confirmed in, as is the Islanders' home ice (Barclays Center) in Brooklyn. ~~United Center is not (yet) in.~~ United Center confirmed in as of 9/9.
Due to certain rules/regulations relative to gambling-related materials in E-rated games, Arizona's Gila River Arena will not be in the game (taken from the Ask EA page above):

May 15th, 2017: Decomprosed Interview

Tell us a little about yourself.
I usually say “Oh, I hate talking about myself” when prompted with this question, but I won’t do that, even though I kinda just did. Screw your rules, me. Kinda. Anyway, my name is Sade. I’ll be 27 in two weeks, which means I can finally die and join the 27 club. Just need to get famous real quick. I’m a nomad and an artist of various mediums who doesn’t seem to understand the concept of “heavy workload” or “public decency” or “positively contributing member of society”. I live on a bus that’s been converted into a mobile bookstore with my best friend, seven anoles, a dog, and a cat (among quite a few dead things), and though I don’t like talking about myself, I probably could for hours, so I’ll leave you with this: have you ever thought about what the inside of your face smells like?
When did you first become interested in horror?
From a very young age, I lived and breathed all things horror. My father introduced me to most of the things I love in life, and horror was no exception. I very fondly recall sitting on the couch with him and watching the ‘88 creature feature shlockfest Pumpkinhead. After that, I was obsessed. He would let me run amok in the video rental store (remember those?), and I would always beeline straight for the horrosci-fi section. This man had me watch the original Final Destination the day before I was supposed to take a flight to visit my grandparents. He let me watch The Wizard of Gore when I was ten! I never stood a chance.
What truly got me into horror as a genre, however, was reading. Libraries and bookstores were second homes to me, and I would spend hours in them after school and on weekends. My father was a pretty avid reader, so there were always good things to pick through. I still have my copies of the horrosuspense anthology 999 (edited by Al Sarrantonio) and Stephen King’s Everything’s Eventual that he gave me as a kid.
I love trash. I am a trash person, and I consume trash media greedily. Splatter, camp, b-movies, exploitation, grindhouse, and so on. Some of my personal favorites are Dead Alive/Braindead, The Driller Killer, Ms. 45, Slime City, and Evil Dead.
What's the most terrifying thing you've personally experienced?
I have an uncanny ability to put myself in extremely dangerous situations and places I have no business being party to. I’ve had a lot of paranormal experiences, and have also had some very close calls with very bad people related to the drug world. But I’m going to have to say that, as beautiful as it is and as much as I love it, there’s nothing more terrifying than nature. Its power and capability for severity have always astounded me.
At Hampton Beach, as a child of ten or so, I was swimming in the ocean. It was a bright day out, and fairly hot. The kind of bright that blinds you if you spend too much time looking at the sand. I’ve always been equally terrified and entranced by the ocean; the thought of a body of water so vast, so unknown, filled with creatures I’d only seen in movies or read about in books, and so much more than we could ever discover. It’s intoxicating. I was swimming not too far out from the shore when there was a huge swell, and I got caught in an undertow. My body felt as though it was being thrown by something enormous and powerful, like I’d been snagged by some giant underwater beast and was being dragged to the depths. I was pulled out, rolling what looked like just under the surface, still able to see through the water into the sunlight piercing the surface, and I could feel myself drowning. It happened so quickly, so harshly, and in those moments, I thought I was going to die.
How did you initially discover NoSleep? What prompted you to begin writing for it?
I’ve been on Reddit for a very long time, far longer than I’d like to admit. I’ve cycled through a bunch of different usernames and circles. I’d peripherally known of NoSleep, but never really checked it out. In June of 2016, I stumbled across the sub, lurked for a while reading as much as I could, and fell in love with the atmosphere and general direction the community had. I created a new account under the name decomprosed and, sitting in the corner of the bar I was working in at the time, wrote the story Junk Food on my phone. It wasn’t very good and was terribly cliche, but it reignited something within me that I’d lost a long time ago. I’ve been writing since the age of six (boy, lemme tell you how much I worried my teachers), but during a long abusive relationship in which I was constantly told I was terrible and shouldn’t show anyone my work, I stopped. In discovering NoSleep, I rediscovered my passion for writing.
What NoSleep stories and/or authors have had the strongest impact on you?
Like many others, when I first joined up, I read the Top - All stories. Additionally, unlike a lot of people as far as I’d seen, I used to camp out in the New tab fairly often, so I got a chance to see things before they’d had any impact on the community (if at all). Some of my favorites of all time have been Real hunger can’t be fed. I know that now, Pac Man Fever, Room 733, the first half of the Free Petz to Good Home series, Eden Musee, What Makes Us Human, the Record Keeper series, My dog was lost for three days. What came back wasn't my dog, and The Devil’s Toybox.
There are a ton more I’m missing from this list, but I used to read a lot of the sub. Nowadays, not so much. As for specific authors, I just wanna throw a shoutout to grindhorse for being another purveyor of the absurd and surreal and iia for showing me very early on that you can be absolutely fucking disgusting––yet still beautiful––and be well-received. u/sleepyhollow_101 has my soul locked in a sigil-scrawled box somewhere in her closet and occasionally takes it out to poke with a stick. On a similar note, no one’s writing on NoSleep (and pretty much in general) entrances me more than cold__cocoon’s does. Their ability to craft a world that feels so unendingly, richly organic and birth characters that feel like people I’ve met in reality and in dreams is astounding.
What are some of your biggest influences in media? Have any stories, on NoSleep or otherwise, or any books, films, or music ever had an impact on your writing?
That’s a pretty massive question, to be honest. Can I just be a dick and answer this with “yes” and move on? People like to say that they don’t take influence from the media they consume, but I think that’s pretty absurd; impossible, even. We’re constantly changing our outlooks on things based on what we take in. I’m a voracious reader––always have been. I hungrily consume heavily visceral and graphic films. I’ve always looked to the vastest extremes in media and art for what I always hope can be a transcendental experience. To be quite honest, though, I take more from my personal experiences in the world than I do from my choice of entertainment.
Some of my personal artistic mentors have always been John Waters, Edward Gorey, Diamanda Galas, William S. Burroughs, Aleister Crowley, Sheila Legge, Egon Schiele, Clive Barker, David Cronenberg, Lydia Lunch, Max Ernst, Sylvia Plath, and Junji Ito. And so many more.
But what inspires me the most?
In a word: Trash. I love traaaash. Filthy guttery punky garbage dumpster trash. Trash cinema, trash food, trash people. Trash everything. I live by the moral code of John Waters. Filth is life, and life prospers best in conditions that are filthy.
Other than writing, what are some of your hobbies? What other creative mediums do you enjoy?
As I said earlier, I’m an artist of quite a few mediums and I don’t have hobbies, I have absolute compulsive obsessions. Here’s a list. Motherfuckers love lists. Dancing, painting, taking apart and fixing vintage electronic systems (VCRs, cassette decks, 8track players, etc.), surrealist art, kicking boulders, occultism, dead places/urban exploration, 80s goth culture, oddities, body modification, the paranormal. I don’t know. What do people like? Am I people?
Aside from writing, I also paint, draw/illustrate, dance, make music, draw, and scream a lot. Screaming is an art, you know. I like to do voice acting.
I used to love drawing, but ended up thinking I was terrible at it. About a month ago, I tried my hand at it again and realized I was actually pretty decent, and fell back in love with the medium. I started up an instagram and have been drawing every single day.
Likewise, I sat down for the first time in years and tried making music again, and found I was able to commit to the sound I wanted like never before. Taking my project name from the iia story Soft Teeth, I began scraping together some sounds and have been working heavily on a yet-to-be-titled album. You can hear some of the demos on Soundcloud, and I’ll be releasing it as a pay-what-you-want download on Bandcamp in the coming weeks.
Besides being a musician in that I play instruments, I take more to the side of sound design. With producing, I aim to unsettle as much as I can. There are things you can do with sounds that one could never achieve with words or images, and I’m fascinated by the aspect of tweaking a two second clip of noise into something of tangible auditory beauty or disgust.
In the future, I plan to produce most of my work through various platforms, utilizing a combination of sights, sounds, and words to tell stories on different levels. I’m also about to launch a multimedia press named de.ta.ch, which will allow me to have complete control over the final product.
You're the creator of /TheDirty31, a subreddit where users challenge themselves by writing and posting one new story daily in each month containing 31 days. How did you come up with the concept for D31? Are there any stories or moments from the sub's history so far that were particularly memorable for you?
I’ve always loved torturing myself. I hate deadlines and structure for the most part, but I’m also a massive masochist. I was writing pretty much every single day, but I thought, “How can I make this worse?” I decided on writing and posting a new story for every day in October of 2016 (much like the art challenge Inktober).
But! aside from being a masochist, I’m also a huge sadist. I thought to myself, “How can I suck others into this; force friends and strangers to share the pain?” A user named thequietestwhisper requested a way to keep track of the stories I was posting each day. These two things combined into the twisted beast of The Dirty 31, and it just grew from there.
It’s hard to pick out a specific story from amongst the hundreds, but I’d have to say the general world-weary feelings of dread and support that the group as a whole held during that initial run were pretty spectacular. It was much like war (in that we were all stranded on foreign soil, eating our own toes, and no one truly won). valkeezy has been doing a phenomenal job holding the stitches together since I haven’t had any time to dedicate to it, and the recent addition of distantoranges to the mod team was a top notch choice.
You've mentioned that you plan to release your series, Drift, as an ebook. Are you able to share any info on the status of that?
Unfortunately, the progress of publishing Drift kind of fell to the wayside, as things do. As mentioned, I’ll be starting an independent press soon, and Drift will be put out both physically and electronically through there. I’ll be setting up a mailing list for my projects eventually, and all further news will be published on my personal website.
When writing Drift, you chose to use an alt account, establishing a background for the protagonist by posting in drug related subreddits prior to sharing the story to NoSleep. How did using an alt help enhance immersion for the series?
Writing and publishing the series was an absolute blast. I wanted to create something that was unique and immersive, but didn’t have the time to commit to anything like setting up a phone number or a website, so I went with something I knew a little too well; drug culture. I created the account LivFreeAndDie and immersed myself in the various drug-related subreddits. People were receptive. I created a backstory through comments and posts, slowly and organically manufacturing and bringing up connections to people and places I had conceived for the series. Then, at a critical point, after I’d mentioned the decline of my “brother’s” health and the search for this made-up drug, I launched the story. I wrote all four parts (roughly 20,000 words) as I posted them, and the reception was fantastic. The first part remains, to this day, my highest upvoted NoSleep post. Users would continually comment about having checked my post history and finding connections to the elements of the story at hand, and I think it definitely kicked things up a notch.
The whole immersion aspect of NoSleep is something I have a thorough love-hate relationship with, but I more than enjoyed it for Drift.
You recently made the decision to no longer post your work online, instead opting to solely contribute to print based mediums. What prompted that change?
Spending too much time posting on NoSleep, in my opinion, was starting to dumb down my writing. I don’t mean this as a slight to my fellow authors, nor to the community in general. The rules and regulations, the inability to break the world; I was beginning to see it shape my writing. What had once rebirthed my love for the craft was beginning to become all that I wrote for, and I resented it. After a lengthy thought process and a few conversations with my friend, I came to the conclusion that I needed to break away from the sub and try something new, or I was probably going to stop writing altogether. I picked up my typewriter for the first time in forever and banged out the first draft of the first story I’d felt truly happy with in a while, entitled FIRST CONTACT. From that point, I decided to write as many of my first drafts as I could on the typewriter (I named her Stoya), and it’s brought me a lot of fresh perspectives I don’t think I would’ve otherwise found.
To clarify, I will still be submitting writing to online publications, but I likely won’t be posting work on Reddit or Tumblr anymore. I may still post the sequel to Mourning Wood, the story which made me a household name (households that need to be torn down, obviously), since I feel like I owe that to this fucked up little family.
Along with brokenlotus you co-own and operate The Road Virus, a mobile bookstore specializing in horror, sci-fi, and fringe literature. Can you tell us a little about the origin of TRV, and your future plans for it?
My best friend Em and I discovered a mutual love of books, bookstores, and libraries within one another. It’d been a dream of both of ours to own a bookstore since we were kids. Living in San Francisco at the time, this would have been completely impossible with rent prices and competition. So, we did the next best (and totally sane) thing and bought a bus that had once serviced the Perry County (Indiana) Public Library as a bookmobile. With Em’s past as a librarian, and my being an author, forever nomad, and always having dreamt of being a long haul trucker, it was perfect. Ridiculous, but perfect.
We’re sitting in Florida right now finishing renovations with the help of a longtime NoSleeper, Cody (throwawatsalesman), about to officially embark out onto the road full time, and we’re beyond excited for the weirdness that lies ahead.
We plan to travel the US for the next two years, at least. We converted the front half of the bus into a bookstore and the back half into an RV. A brick and mortar is definitely on our minds for the future, but in the meantime, we’re looking to bring fringe literature to all of the desolate parts of the country (and hopefully beyond).

Much of your writing features lgbt characters, and you've stated previously that queer horror has a noticeable lack of representation on NoSleep. Why do you feel that is?
As an openly queer person myself, I write what I want to see. And what I want to see is representation. A lot of the blowhards who seem to have a problem with the concept of LGBT+ people being, y’know, people, tend to come up with the brutish argument of, “Oh, this just seems forced” at the inclusion of any typically “othered” character makeups.
The following is a list of actual comments I’ve received:
“Wait so are you a guy or not - Edit: yep Carl is a dudes name"
"I feel sorry for you. But I can't understand whether you are a man or a woman? You say you have a husband named Ed now, but the toothless man said "boys will be boys" to you and your brother."
"so... you're a girl, but you said you had a girlfriend, that makes no sense"
"the narrator being gay took me out of the story"
"This isn't how a gay guy would act"
"You made that character gay just to be different"
The unabashed ignorance and immunity to reality that some people on NoSleep seem to hold and promote is beyond me. But I get it. You know what you know, right? Well, if that’s what you know, then I think that the shit you know needs to change. Drastically. Queer people, gay people, trans people; they exist. It’s not a fad or a passing flame. There are literally dozens of us!
Given that most published authors are straight white men––at least those lauded by pop media––the world of literature would be a very fucking boring place if people only wrote what they were. But there is a fine line to walk; that of representing but not exploiting or making a cheap gimmick or stereotype of (and I say this as a person who loves and appreciates garbage exploitation films). An author I highly respect and love, Harlan Ellison, does this impeccably. The easiest way to write a character who’s based on something you don’t know or have never experienced is to do research and write them first as a person, and then as the model you’re trying to represent.
Are there any topics you feel are too controversial for you, or that you prefer not to mention in your writing?
No, not really. At least I haven’t come across one. My writing has touched on most of the things people mention in these answers: abuse, rape, racism, child death. I find therapy in the process of creating, and I’ve dealt with a lot of the things I write about first or secondhand. It’s a fluid sense of catharsis, and one I hold dear.
Do you have any favorite reader reactions to your writing?
Among the gamut of variations of “what the fuck” (“what the shitting christ is wrong with you” was a good one), I would have to say the entirety of the thread of my story Mourning Wood was my favorite. The plant/gardening puns were many and egregious. Besides shitting themselves over how “fucked up” a scene was, people have also come to me and told me that some of my stories were the most beautiful and sad things they’ve ever read, and that’s something I cherish.
What stories or projects of yours are you most proud of?
For writing, I would have to say the Red Wings stories are my favorites. Writing in her voice has been my favorite word-based experience thus far. I’m going to be turning them into a full length novel at some point; I’d love to see it in graphic novel form. I also love From the Mouths of Babes, which was a /ShortScaryStories post. I love doing short, punchy, biting surreal pieces. It’s where I’m most comfortable. Utilizing an amalgamation of surreal, visceral descriptions with achingly real characters and vast worlds is always my goal.
For visual art, two pieces come to mind. This abstract self-portrait and this portrait of a witch and her feline familiar. I only started drawing about a month ago, but I’m quickly developing a stark lowbrow style, and I’m enjoying myself.
And in general, The Road Virus. My friend and I bought a goddamn bus and are traveling the country selling books. Dream come true.
What advice would you offer new contributors to NoSleep?
Don’t forget who you are, and what you want to write. NoSleep can be so, so many things. It can be an inspiration, a launching pad, an endless pool from which to derive meaning in your words, words that might’ve otherwise never seen the light of dark; but it can also be harrowing and damning, making you question yourself, second-guess your stories, constantly be seeking validation from your peers and online readers, some of which like to spit acerbic haunts from behind a projected keyboard shield. You’re better than you think you are, so stop worrying about what everyone else wants, or thinks, or whatever. Write for the sake of writing, post for the sake of feedback, do whatever you feel the need to do in order to make your writing work for you. But don’t let NoSleep become the concrete formula for your process. Write every day. Engage in the OOC sometimes. Join the IRC if you’re feeling up to chatting. And for the love of hell, read a fucking book. I’m aware that some people “just don’t like to read”, but you cannot improve as a writer unless you read. Also, it’s just fun. Learning is amazing. Channeling yourself into other worlds you’d otherwise never see is king. Live deliciously, or live not at all.
What are your short-term and long-term writing goals?
I would like to be paid large sums of money and/or gold bars for shitting out a listicle on Thought Catalog every other full moon. That, or at least find sustainability in my writing. I want to be read. I want my physical books to be in physical hands and for people to lick their physical thumbs and turn their physical pages (jk actually don’t do that it squicks me out). I want to write for magazines, to have articles published. I’d like to reinvent myself as a new journalist (the movement, not the freshness) and put myself in the rough to gain access to interesting stories from immense worlds. I’d like to make my website a frequently-used platform for blogging my thoughts and feelings (what are those again?). I want to show more people that writing can be bizarre and surreal without being meaningless.
I want a lot of things, and I’m slowly picking up the tools to perform them every single day.

David Niven was pretty wonderful in the ‘67 spoof version of Casino Royale. In general, I think Brosnan’s Bond had too much self-aggrandizing swagger. He was always just a little too… I don’t know, primped and proper, for me. I like my bond rougher, dirtier. The other guy… uh… Shawn Canary? Yeah, the Australian. Now he was a man. Yee-haw. I’ll be honest, and I welcome the crucifixion, but really loved Daniel Craig’s version. He fulfilled a lot of the key points of what made Bond for me; self-assured, rugged, brutal when necessary. But simultaneously sensitive in a way that wasn’t cheesy or played out. He pulled it off in a way that really felt right for the new generation, a more action-packed and fast paced blood-pumper.

I feel like I’ve lived ten different timelines in my almost 27 years, and I don’t say that lightly. I’ve done a lot, seen a lot, experienced a lot. Living in another country like you’re not a tourist is, in my opinion, one of the only right ways to truly travel.

Fuck, there are at least two kinds of candy. How do you expect me to make decisions like this? Sour Patch Watermelons are bomb. I love a good Snickers. Some may call me a pervert, but I fucking love me some marmite/vegemite. That counts as candy––unless you’re a terrorist or something. All sorts of Japanese candies I can’t remember the names of (one of them was possibly a scorpion dick; I don’t know, things got weird). Tamarind chewy things of all kind.
Unlike SOME people (not naming names, but definitely naming bears), I have NEVER shamed a cow. I’ve pet a few. They are so velvety. I have secret knowledge that brokenlotus once pissed on a cow. She was drunk, she thought it was an oddly warm/soft wall. These things happen.
