What high impact features do you want that won't require absurd amounts of dev time?

With Payday 2's second anniversary coming up, and the possibility of many features coming out in the coming months (a lot of backordered features), what features will improve this game without requiring all that much development time? Adding a lot of long-requested features during a sale and possible celebration will give new players less to complain about, and draw old players out of the woodwork.
Additional Crime.net options. This would affect all players, new and old. Crime.net hasn't changed at all since contract/difficulty filters were added an extremely long time ago, and with more and more heists being added the contract filter is more of a hassle than it's worth, on top of the fact that new heists are at the end of the list.
Checkboxes for difficulty (N H VH ✓OVK ✓DW) allowing multiple difficulties to be filtered. Checkboxes for contract filter and 5-10 shown in a scroll bar ex:
Scroll up
✓Hotline Miami
✓Hotline Miami Pro
Big Bank
✓Hoxton Breakout
✓Hoxton Breakout Pro
Scroll down
Loud Only, Stealth Only, Hybrid, and No Preference Options when creating a lobby, with signifying icons (Red Gun or red ghost, Blue Ghost, Purple Ghost, etc) to make it clear what type of approach you as a host want to do. This prevents any confusion if you intend to do a loud election day, big bank, framing frame, etc.
Adding more experience rewards to heists. The experience/bug fix beta was an extremely good change for this game, but some heists lack true rewards for extra effort. Transport heists are a very low reward for time invested. A good example of rewarding for transports is experience bonuses for drilling a truck instead of blowing it with c4, and also securing all possible loot. Currently transport heists are only rewarding if you're in and out in ~2 minutes, and while embracing "good robbers" by making it rewarding to do fast, you're not rewarding those who are thorough. Currently Rats : Pro is extremely rewarding when you go for all possible loot, and many more heists need to follow its lead.
Many other heists would strongly benefit from securing all/higher amounts of possible loot when loot is inconvenient or difficult: Bomb : Forest, Bomb : Dockyard (separate bonus for pink truck loot), Shadow Raid, Big Bank (only rewards 15 when there's a possible of 20+), Car Shop, Go Bank, Golden Grin Casino, Election Day.
Changing bots/SWAT turret. Currently bots will get stuck on swat turrets because they don't get the grace period of .35-.45 seconds that players do. Any time a bot encounters a swat turret, they're basically stuck there. Something needs to change, whether it's making it so bots aren't able to have "heavy hurt" animations, or whether they get the grace period that players do. Also, swat turrets should not spawn on normal.
Weekly jobs. Give weekly jobs an option to guarantee a mod of your choosing over the infamous mask. Some people just haven't had luck with daily jobs.
UI Improvements. A down counter, showing hostages during assaults, and press to interact are such gigantic quality of life improvements that they should be in the base game instead of from hud mods.
Skill Rebalancing. Everyone knows moving target is garbage. Everyone knows Stockholm Syndrome is garbage. And yet, both of these skills along with numerous others have stayed in for 2 years without seeing any usage by any sane person.
Skills that need to be reworked or entirely removed:
Perk Deck rebalancing. Not too much effort required.
Melee Rebalancing. I'm just gonna say it: melee weapons have a lot of power creep. Many old melee weapons can lose in every single category to newer ones. Especially now that new melees like the buzzer can do special features like stunning a fucking charging cloaker I think that older melees could use a little help. Also nerf the buzzer so it'll either not stun charging cloakers, or it can only stun if it's fully charged melee.
Weapon Rebalancing. I go against the grain in this case, and think that there aren't as many problems as there used to be.
Infamy 2.0 Rewards. We need them now, but honestly we needed them 5 months ago. You guys had a year to come up with something, yet came up with nothing. Sure, I got to infamy 25 because I love this game, but why should anyone who plays casually go past infamy 7? Purely cosmetic rewards were a huge mistake, not to mention that more than half of the infamy levels weren't even cosmetic rewards!
More mask slots. At this point, we probably have more unique masks than we have mask slots.
Bring back offshore gambling, and keep it here. The artificial scarcity of only having it for like 5 days a year is dumb. Why make offshore cash unspendable?
Preferential character selection. Long past are the days when we only had 4 characters. Allowing 4 preferred characters so you always get one that you want would be a very nice feature. Or simply allow character changing in lobby.
More challenging/interesting achievements. Tabula Rasa and Reputation Beyond Reproach were both good examples of achievements. Please give us more of those.
More skill sets. 5 isn't enough. It's not a cost thing, it's a convenience thing. I can easily fill 10 sets of builds I use, and 15 with experimental builds. Having to erase a build is very inconvenient. I currently use a mod to have more, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Golden Grin Casino Heist: Day 1 - Discussion Thread

Day 1 of the Golden Grin Casino is here!
Click here for the update page or here for the Steam announcement
LAS VEGAS IS A DESERT MIRAGE A JEWEL AMONGST THE SANDS.
She boasts more Five Diamond hotels than any other city in the world. Her shine and sparkle attracts tens of millions of dreamers every year. Dreamers that are ready to drop their mortgage on the slots and tables of the casinos. And no casino shines brighter than the Golden Grin.
Funded with foreign investment, the Golden Grin broke ground in '45, and saw its first guests roll the dice early in '46. It quickly gained a reputation as a place where all appetites were satisfied. Crooked games, sex parties, and violence for hire. It made international headlines with the infamous Thanksgiving Massacre in '57. By the 60's, its name was a deserved byword for Vegas' darker, deadlier and seedier side.
All the greats have made their name in the City of Sin. Make yours at the Golden Grin.
The 'Big Fucking Drill'
This time, The Dentist is bringing the 'Big Fucking Drill'. But size isn't everything, because BFD is fully customizable.
Get into Pre-Planning and spend your favors to kit this beauty out with an assload of extras. From turrets to tools, you bring the drill you want!
New Track - Dead Man's Hand
The DLC also contains a brand new piece of music composed by Simon Viklund called "Dead Man's Hand" - a track that combines Payday's exciting pumping electronic music style with brass and jazzy drum fills, Evoking the "glamorous big band" spirit of Las Vegas.

The True Meaning of Horror

It was a relatively easygoing day. I had recently infamy’d for the first time, about a week ago, and was in the process of leveling back. I’d just come back from eating lunch, specifically a pepperoni flatbread from Uno’s Pizzeria, and decided to commence the grind once more in PAYDAY 2. I skipped past the cinematic advertisement and other various logos, and quickly dived into my skill tree to examine my madness. My skill tree looked like it undergone partial chemotherapy, and had then been put under a chainsaw. The skills were haphazardly placed, and had no synergy with each other whatsoever. “I’ll start making a proper build once I hit the 70s,” I said to myself, with That’s The Way I Like It playing in the back of my head.
I quickly joined a public lobby, which I quickly came to like. The host was a jolly fellow, and after the first heist, another player joined, jolly as well. The two aforementioned players (who I shall refer to as Willis and Bruce, respectfully) utilized their mics, and quickly became friendly with each other. I provided arguably annoying/funny commentary on various subjects, which the two of them responded well to. The fourth slot was like a hotel room, with a new player taking its place every heist.
And then we came to the Golden Grin Casino, a job that filled my mind with glorious architectural masterpieces. As we worked to get the three number password, I found myself lockpicking my way into the manager’s office. Bruce said over the mic that I could just shoot the lock and let myself in that way. After I finished, I responded, saying that I couldn’t bring myself to harm such a finely made door handle. Willis only chuckled over the mic, but said nothing.
Later, after we had acquired and utilized the explosives, I found myself in the bathroom, marveling the expertly made toilets. The curves, the pipes, the choice of color, and my God, the toilet seats! All of it just an artistic wonder, which I reveled in for quite some time. “Marveling toilets?” I heard Willis say over the mic.
“They’re exquisitely made.” I replied via text. Again, Willis only chuckled, then left me alone. At this point, my love for the architectural genius was apparent, despite the fact that we were currently robbing the casino. Once we began assembling the BFD, however, is when things began to take a turn for the worse.
Willis stood on top of the drill, shooting away with his Saiga shotgun, with the rest of us scrambling about the floor, all forcefully persuading the police to stop bothering us. Suddenly, I felt a twinge in my heart, and I almost wretched. I quickly spun my character around to see Willis blow apart a plant pot – a beautiful, masterfully made flower plot, built with heart and soul. Even in death, its brilliance shown through my heart, and all at once, it stopped as the pieces hit the bloodstained floor. I looked at Willis, fear and hatred in my eyes. I no longer saw a fun loving man with an aptitude for shotguns. I saw a cold, evil force that I could not stand.
“WHOA” I typed in chat.
“What?” Willis replied, confused.
“You just destroyed that fine, exquisitely made plant pot!” I typed furiously.
“Oh. Yeah.” Was all he said. As if it were nothing. As if the brilliant masterpiece that he had just extinguished meant nothing to him.
“Fucking BELIGERENT!” I yelled through my keyboard.
“Ha, I love this guy!” Bruce said, obviously oblivious to the situation.
I stood, dumbfounded, as the police continued to hurl themselves at us. Did they not understand what terrible act they had just committed? Surely, they had to. Right?
I slowly moved my character through the pot ridden wasteland that was the main room and found myself in a small bar. I shut my character behind the counter, and wept for the loss of humanity, the loss of genius. I do not know how long I sat there, nor do I know exactly what happened after. But when I rose back from the bar, with several freshly caught Pidgeys in hand, I emerged only to be taken aback, my heart racing at the heresy before me. All of the finely made plant pots stood in ruin, their contents spilled onto the floor like animals’ guts, with Willis twisted over, smiling, his eyes red with evil acts. I felt myself dying inside, and knew that the only way to end this situation was to end the job, as quickly as possible. Throughout it all, I hid away any masterworks to keep them safe from Willis, never looking back at its hiding place for fear that Willis would find it. Always, I felt his eyes glaring into me from behind, interrogating my soul. As soon as we got into the van and the money was dealt, I jumped out, leaving the lobby, leaving behind the artistic genocide that had occurred.

To answer the question about Pre-Planning if it will be in other heists

Source: http://www.gamespot.com/videos/e3-2014-payday-2-big-bank-heist-stage-demo/2300-6419619/
"Pre-Planning is for the big bank for now. (For now.) We're thinking about implementing it for other missions. It all depends. You don't need to pre-plan that much if your hitting a convenience store."
It also seems he dodged the question about Old Hoxton about how he will be implemented.
Also, concerning the Female Heister, "we just have to find a right time slot to release her"
Also, some information from another video concerning the new heist. sorry if it is long.
"He wants you to rob a big bank first, the then wants to do the diamond heist, the hope diamond. Then he wants to go to Las Vegas and rob the golden grin casino. And finally, he wants you to rescue your old friend Old Hoxton from the first game"
I swear if they save that heist to be the last one to be released from the the whole pack, I'm slightly irked. As much as i like that we're getting new heists, that part just would make me pissed slightly.
"We know we got some competitors out there right now, trying to make their own moves. But we think we're the ultimate heist experience and we want to delve deeper into what makes an actual good heist work."
Shots fired.
"another thing that's new that we do is that we can now do multiple objectives separately, we don't have to do everything linearly."(apparently, only for the new heist for now.)
Now this, i like Though i wonder how we'll be able to keep an eye on someone if they're actually doing their job or not..
"Is like we're going back to the roots of the first game. Back in the first game the maps were much larger. you were dropping people through a roof because they weren't giving you the codes, beating taxman because he didn't give you the codes. So this is more back to the roots. A 1 day heist, a huge heist, with a big big ass Bank vault that you're going to see there. It's easily a 15-20 minute heist on the normal. and those of the gamers that like to die early there's a death wish difficulty they'll be playing 60-90 minutes or who knows how long."
Oh god. That sounds great.
"during the development of the game we used to call masks 'Face Hats'"
nice.

For new players considering buy DLCs on this sale to "get better", here is a hardcore no life player's straight forward review for each DLC.

Please note these reviews are focused "to get better", meaning I mainly explain and review the additional weapons or perks. For people that is lazy and do not want to read the wall of text, general rule of buying DLC is you are only able to equip one primary and one secondary. You do not have to buy every DLC to "get better". For Overkill difficulty, it's very possible to beat any level without DLC weapons easy and many vanilla weapons are capable of using in Deathwish, the highest difficulty. However, for Deathwish or even taking down captain in Overkill without having no DLC is a bit of pain. Most veteran player's general rules are "one for killing, one for utility". On current version of PAYDAY 2, generally speaking, M308, Deagle, Mosconi, Judge are often considered as top tier for killing and grab Flamethrower, Thanatos, GL40, RPG, China Puff and Light Crossbow for utility. These utility weapons are only comes from DLC. There are a lot of variation other than these to beat the highest difficulty and you are able to beat it without DLC, but these utility weapons changes the game drastically.
If you ask me if you only got money to buy 3 DLC to beat Deathwish, I would say Butcher's BBQ pack just for molotovs, Golden Grin Casino for getting Buzzer and pick one from these: Wolf pack for China Puff, The Overkill Pack for RPG, or Gage Shotgun Pack for HE rounds. I have second account just for fun and bought these to beat Deathwish as 0-60 rep.
The official Soundtrack
It gives you the soundtrack, nothing less, nothing more.
Armored Transport
This DLC gives you Commando assault rifle, Swedish K SMG and a pistol. Generally speaking, all of these guns sucks. However, Commando has very fast reloading speed making you keep fighting without worry about downtimes. Swedish K has 80 damages but Krinkov is better since it has faster fire rate. Swedish K is also concealable so it might suitable for crit builds for some people. I would personally pass. Forget pistol. Deagle or Bronco is king except you are buying Point Break DLC. The maps are all small levels except train heist. Not a popular maps nowadays.
Gage Weapon Pack #1
Biggest addition is in fact getting Auto-fire weapon mods unlocked. Many guns requires Auto-Fire mod in order to make it perfectly optimize. Else I would say wait until you understand how perfect optimization is important for this game. Eagle Heavy Rifle is my main rifle. It is great gun but takes time to get used to. It reaches 85 damage using silencer, 80+ accuracy and 100ish stability. 1 shots Overkill Tan swats and 2 shots Elite swats on Deathwish. Spec Ops SMG is highest tier SMG. Fast fire rate and reloading speed. Signature .40 is meh. There are a lot of other options for 80 damage pistols and it has least magazine size. Frag Grenade is not for killing trashes but solely used for stunning Bulldozers. Worst throwable but better than throwing cards anyway.
A Merry Payday Christmas Soundtrack
It gives you original songs and santa masks. That's it.
Gage Weapon Pack #2
Do not expect too much for current LMGs. It's pickups are great and gives you very big mags, but the free community LMG called KSP 58 is almost similar to these. Buy if you liked the free LMG and want some more. I would pass.
Gage Mod Courier
People often says this DLC is essential, not anymore. This DLC used to be only way to optimize your weapon against Deathwish but there are a lot of options to build your guns on current version. This DLC's biggest sales point is you can easily get these mods which helps new players tons (getting weapon mods are too random). It gives you variety of optical sights too. Many people loves these optical sights. If you are perfectionist to optimize your guns, this DLC is a must too.
Gage Sniper Pack
Only reason of buying this is to get Thanatos .50 cal sniper rifle. Rattlesnake is shit rifle and R93 is almost same to the free sniper rifle. Thanatos however, able to 3 shot Swat turrets, 3 shot to the body of Deathwish Bulldozers and killing anything else in a shot. It is also great way to get rid of annoying captain very quick. Very useful utility gun.
The Big Bank Heist
The map is very well-made. People loves doing it loud or stealth. This DLC also gives you Falcon rifle which is capable of hitting 80 damage with almost same stats of Eagle Heavy and only battle rifle that has 40 ammo cap if you are using extended mag. Most people say Falcon is best battle rifle in game.
Gage Shotgun Pack
This DLC is one of game breaker. It gives you ability to change the ammo type of Shotguns and HE rounds are essential for Deathwish loud. HE rounds are easily killing Shields and stunning Bulldozers to death. Raven shotgun is basically same as Reinfeld but has more ammo cap. Street Sweeper is secretly great shotgun to clear trash cops (even on deathwish) and M1014 is highest DPS shotgun as primary. To be honest, none of these shotguns are that great anymore. I love M1014 though. Must buy if your goal is dominating Deathwish. It also gives you variety of shell types other than HE rounds. Flechette and 000 bucks are useful for some setup too.
Gage Assault Pack
This DLC gives you the game breaker explosive device called GL40 and also adds rifles. These rifles used to be one of best rifles then weapon rebalance patch ruined it. Clarion rifle has fast fire rate and slow reloading, shooting 30 bullets and maybe 3 of those bullets could hit cops. Galil, I even forgot the ingame name is useless gun and G3 is downgraded version of Eagle Heavy/Falcon Rifle. However, the GL40 is one of game breaker weapon. It kills Elite swats in a explosion and it has unexpected good pickup rate. High concealment allows you bring this along pistols for your fantastic crit dodge fugitive builds. GL40 is one of highest tier primary.
Hotline Miami
Yeah, you might saw a lot of people saying "this DLC is one of must". No longer. The level is pretty great and fun, but all of SMGs went downfall already because of weapon rebalance patch. UZI used to be ultra accurate, Skorpion was one of best SMG as big magazine and Tec-9 could hit 40 damage while maintain great pickup rate. They nerfed these gun's reloading speed secretly before the rebalance but were still usable. Then weapon rebalance has came, many SMGs got better stats over these 3 submachine gun.
Gage Historical Pack
The LMG is meh. Fast fire rate, lower accuracy than other LMG. It is good gun, but harder to be used for newbies. Patchett used to be one of best SMG people said, then weapon rebalance has came, it became one of shittest SMG ever. I see nobody using this anymore. Nagant is basically reskin of R93 or free Sniper rifle. Forget about the pistol. It's useless.
The Diamond Heist
This DLC gives you no additional weapons. The map is easy/fun to be stealthed and spawns crazy amount of cops at loud.
Clover Character Pack
This gives you ability of choosing Clover character as prefered, a rifle called Queen's Wrath and Burglar perk. Burglar perk is widely used for stealth players since it is only perk which gives you benefit for stealth, still not dramatically great. Queen's Wrath is highest fire rate gun that can use Quadmag. Without Gage Mod Courier, it is shit gun. With the Mod Courier DLC, it becomes a mid-low tier rifle.
The Bomb Heist
It won't gives you weapons. Two maps will be added for your hosting. One is called Dockyard and another one is Forest. Nobody playing forest anymore since the level design is one of worst one. Dockyard is challenging for stealth and moderate difficulty for loud. Buy this if you loved Dockyard. I believe nobody loves Forest.
Dragan Character Pack
This DLC gives you ability of choosing Dragan as prefered character, an assault rifle and infiltrator perk. Infiltrator perk is usable for Deathwish and some people tend to use this on Deathwish too. Infiltrator perks are basically melee perk with healing ability and better "armors". Forget about the assault rifle. It became shit after weapon rebalance update. It had purpose before, not anymore. The rifle has no visual recoil, though.
The Overkill Pack
RPG is one of greatest way to kill Bulldozers. Also best way to kill your team mate to be kicked. RPG is also capable of killing Deathwish captain in 2 shots. Minigun is great weapon if used by right hands, though most people tend to spam it and goes out of ammo very quick. Many veterans likes using RPG for Deathwish.
The Butcher's AK/CAR Mod Pack
Only reason you want to buy this is to get DMR kit. Combined with Gage Mod Courier, your AMR will become a monster rifle. 60 mags and 1 shotting Deathwish Elites are awesome. However, it is not spammable like M308 since DMR kit does not makes the gun as semi-auto weapons. Semi-auto weapons has much less recoils than full auto ones so you can basically spam M308 as fast as you want and all bullets gonna hit cops subsequently while AMR DMR has to either control recoils or wait until the recoil is "ended". So, AMR DMR is not upgraded version of M308. It is different gun. Forget about other features. It's not that fantastic.
The Butcher's BBQ Pack
Another must-have DLC. This DLC gives you Molotovs. Molotovs stops cops and burns for while, stopping any units except Shields. You can even throw molotovs against Bulldozers and they are basically never fight back. Flamethrower can stop any units and penetrating Shields, meaning nobody able to push the frontline unless your magazine hits empty. Piglet Grenade Launcher is basically GL40 with slower on every actions but holds 6 grenades in magazine. Steakout shotgun is also one of greatest shotgun as primary since it holds 20 shells before reloading, allowing you keep killing trash cops nonstop where no other shotguns do. I can recommend this DLC for anybody because of molotovs, best in slow on throwables. Dragonbreath is useless by the way.
The Butcher's Western Pack
Skip. All these weapons are shit. Dynamite is upgraded version of Frag Grenade since cops cannot hit it in the air, but all other guns are solely "for fun" ones. Maybe you may like the explosive bow and some people loves it, but I would go for crossbow if you want a explosive primary that has longer range than GL40.
The Overkill B-side Soundtrack
I bought every DLC at the first day including exclusive ones, this DLC was first DLC that I did not even consider buying.
The Alesso Heist
The level is fun for loud, annoying and hard for stealth. I have seen a lot of people asking me for stealth this level and none of them stayed in my lobby after they got found by a guard then security camera found the crime to fail. This DLC gives you downgraded version of Bronco Revolver too.
The Golden Grin Casino Heist
All of serious player has this DLC solely because of Buzzer, a melee weapon that has unique effect. It stuns anybody except Bulldozers. Why is it important? It's because the stun can stops cloakers charging at you. At many situation, this Buzzer melee weapon is ONLY solution to not being downed. Also, while you stun regular cops, they are easily able to be dominated to help your teammate get out of custody. Veteran players are using this or katana as melee slot, and only. The level has a lot of scripted cool features and fun to play. You will also get a semi-auto rifle called Cavity which used to be able to hit 80 damage, they nerfed it to 60+ for some reason though. It is concealable so can be used for crit build players too.
Sokol Character Pack
Yet another game breaker. Trust me, you will never die once you leveled his perk called Grinder. Many people even blaming Grinder because this perk alone made the whole game easier thousand times. The perk heals you when you damage somebody, and the healing effect is biggest over any other perk at current patch even after nerf. You will never die in Overkill no matter how you play as long as you keep fighting. I am mainly using this perk for Deathwish without any defencive skill and playing fine. The perk is that overpowered even after the nerf. Highly recommend for anybody who want to wear suits and keep running around to slaughter everything. Note that Grinder perk has no effect when you are using heavy armors. This DLC also gives you Valkria Rifle which also became useless because of weapon rebalance patch.
Gage Ninja Pack
This DLC gives you 3 weapons and 1 throwables. Pistol Crossbow is weaker version of HE rounds from Gage Shotgun Pack, Lebensauger .308 Sniper rifle used to be best gun in game but F'd up after weapon rebalance patch. Kross Vertex SMG however, is considered god tier SMG. Fast reloading speed, very accurate, 1200 fire rate gives you very high DPS and is stable.
Yakuza Character Pack
A Japanese character called Jiro will be added. He only speaks Japanese so get ready to be annoyed if you cannot understand it. Micro UZI is god tier SMG as "spammable" gun thanks to it's fastest fire rate. It can be also used by crit dodge build players because of it's high concealment. Also this DLC gives you a Katana. While Buzzer is hands down best melee weapon in game, some people prefer Katana over Buzzer. Katana has no real unique ability, but it's range, speed, damage and DPS is best of best in current version of this game. A lot of Infiltrator player prefer Katana over Buzzer mainly.
Gage Chivalry Pack
People calls this as worst DLC ever, it's not true. This DLC gives you a crossbow called "Light Crossbow" which has very high amount of starting ammo and can be used as explosives. It kills Elite swats in a shot and of course can use as Shield/Bulldozer killer. On top of that, The crossbow has very high concealment numbers meaning you can use this with crit builds. Unlike Pistol Crossbow from Gage Ninja Pack, these crossbow has almost zero bullet fall, meaning you can "snipe" Shields at long range easy. Heavy Crossbow can be used to take down Heavier units like Tasers, but it's slow reloading speed making the crossbow harder to use. The long bow is capable of killing bulldozers in a hit when used with crit builds, but very hard to learn.
The Point Break Heists
It adds two levels and both of those are well made. Loud only but very fun to play. Large scale map and waves of cops are intense. But I cannot stress enough how the pistol you will received is secretly overpowered. The Baby Deagle is NOT even baby version of Deagle but much, much superior to it. What you get is basically upgraded version of Deagle in every way except slight less accuracy. Fire rate, pickup rate, reloading speed, everything else is just superior to Deagle AND it's concealable, Deagle itself is being called "the reason why weapon rebalance made the game even easier". Imagine when you get the upgraded version of it. If anybody asks me what is best weapon to kill regular cops, Cloakers and Tasers, I will instantly answer it is Baby Deagle.
The Goat Simulator Heist
Gives you a shotgun called GSPS, downgraded version of Locomotive shotgun. Trust me, the gun is shit. I am sad because the gun has great firing sound making me want to use all time. The level is large and hard, fun to play, but hard.
Wolf Pack
This will adds two maps imported from PAYDAY: The Heist. Both of those are loud only. It also gives you a grenade launcher called China Puff. It is equipped in secondary slot and basically same function of GL40 but can shoot 3 grenades subsequently. It is one of greatest utility secondary and people thought the China Puff is breaking game even more. Overkill however, secretly set so switching weapons from primary to China Puff takes 1 seconds long so it is balanced in my personal taste. Still a top tier utility weapon.

Transcript of the the Q&A featuring Ilija and Mitja

I had really hard time trying to make sense of the questions. On top of that I couldn’t always tell Mitja apart from Ilija so the answers might be botched and/or mixed up.

Q: What’s your inspiration for doing what you do?

A: I just love video games, this is my dream job. Every day I go to work full of passion.

Q: How many years have you been in the industry?

A: 6 years now.

Q: Are you planning on adding more things from mods, like the restart button?

A: Yea, many of our developers started out as modders. If the feature is good we could add it.

Q: How many Butcher heists can we expect?

A: Depends on the reception from the community. We’ll make the decision based on that.

Q: Could you possibly make an appearance in the game if you haven’t already?

A: We wouldn’t do silly things like that outside of heists like White Xmas. Maybe I’ll be in come next Christmas?

Q: Will the new DLCs be included in the GOTY edition?

A: I honestly don’t know. Both Mitja and me are in the development side of things.

Q: Are there easter eggs in this particular map?

A: Oh, yes. That’s all I’m going to say.

Q: Who came up with the concept of the Bomb heist?

A: The whole team really, it was the first thing we came up with in the whiteboard.

Q: What would your mask look like?

A: Just my regular face but upside down, I’d look through my own mouth.

Q: What are some lines used by the new heister?

A: A lot of Yugoslavian swear words. We wanted to give the heister a Croatian flair.

Q: Tell us more about process of making DLC, where do you take ideas

A: Inspiration is everywhere. We come up with some gameplay ideas and we try to polish them as much as possible.

Q:Will Greta from the series ever make an appearance?

A: Well, it’s a possibility.

Q: If we have the heist bundle do we have to pay for this DLC?

A: I’m not really sure to be honest.

Q: Favorite gun from the new DLC?

A: I really like the pistol.

Q: Is Ilija ever going to be a playable character?

A: I’d have to do the voice acting so definitely not.

Q:Will we get a 7-day heist ever?

A: It’s a possibility, we just need to come up with a good idea. We wouldn’t make one just for the sake of making one.

Q: What do you personally like the most about the maps?

A: I like the Dock because it works well on stealth and loud. The map is very big and the players have a lot of room to get better at the heist.

Q: Who/what was the inspiration for the new heister?

A: Basically the whole studio. We thought it’d be funny to make him Croatian.

Q: Any update on new Infamy levels? it’s been a year.

A: Yeah, the answer is that we can’t say anything.

Q: Rumor has it that Dragan’s actor has robbed a bank, was that a contributing factor for casting him as a heister?

A: No, he was in a couple of Swedish movies. His history is just a nice coincidence.

Q: How much involvement did Overkill had in the making of the Bomb?

A: Just enough to help out. They helped us test the map but they let Lion Game Lion do its own thing

Q: How long did it take to make the heists?

A: They’ve been in development for five-six months. You need to take into account that it’s a new studio, things are being set up and so on. Five months is just an estimate.

Q: What are the steps of making a DLC?

A: We start out by brainstorming and playing with ideas, maybe someone saw a movie, played a game or just had a random idea. Then we spend time whiteboxing, that’s where you make a really ugly level with white boxes just to make things work. Cleaning things up comes last.

Q: What games do you play besides PD2?

A: (Mitja) I play FPSs and 3rd person action games. half-Life 2 is my favorite, I also really like Deus Ex games. (Ilija) My favorite game is either Half-Life 2 or Portal. Lately I’ve been stuck playing DOTA and I hate myself for it

Q: Can we expect more heists coming from outside contrators?

A: Yeah, it’s Overkill and Payday, you can expect anything, anytime.

Q: Will there be more Dentist heists after the Golden Grin? Will Butcher replace him as a main contractor?

A: Well, you can expect anything anytime. There isn’t such thing as a ”main contractor”, we make the heist first and then decide which contractor suits it the best.

Q: Any plans for adding old heists or new animations for, say, lockpicking?

A: We have to wait and see, there’s nothing I can say officially. That’s definitely my favorite answer

Q: Any more maps with a wintery environment? White Christmas was fun even if the white was cocaine.

A: Yeah, why not, maybe in the future.

Q: Who made the HUD? I really like the interaction circle over PDTH’s equivalent.

A: A guy named Carl made the HUD. From what I remember the biggest reason of making the interaction circle a circle was that sometimes bright backgrounds blended too well with the interaction bar.

Q: Favorite mask and gun?

A: (Ilija) I like the sniper rifles, I don’t really have a favorite mask (Mitja) I really like the Lion’s Roar.

Q: Are we going to see five-man heists?

A: Umm, I don’t know, we could probably do it but it’s not likely. Then again, anything can happen

Q: Will you ever make an April fools event?

A: That’d be cool, actually. We might, we have an office full of trolls.

Q: Will Overkill or Lion make more gauntlet-type heists like Heat Street and Green Bridge ?

A: Sure, if we come up with good ideas. Hoxton breakout is pretty much a gauntlet.

Q: How long can Overkill put out new content?

A: At least until 2015 or 2016? A long time, as long as people keep playing we keep making.

Q: What happened to the hector heist ”bring me the head of....”

A: Someone has been digging through the game files. It’s one of the heists we didn’t finish because it wasn’t good enough.

Q: What can expect from DLC made by Lion game Lion?

A: More chaotic and crazy things, with a Balkan touch.

Q: How soft is Almir’s beard? Is it bulletproof?

A: It’s pretty tough, but not quite bulletproof. But it is pretty.

Q: What are your thoughts new heister and working for the Payday gang?

A: Working on PD is amazing, it’s a game I really like to play. I’ll do my best to make awesome heists for you in the future. Not what he was asked but oh well.

Q: Any hints for the secret?

A: Hmmm. YES! It’s blue.

Q: Will we ever get a public release of the map editor?

A: It’s something we want to do in the future. I’ve said it before, but we really can’t say when or how. We really want to make it happen one way or another.

Q: Will it be Steam Workshop-oriented?

A: Uh, er, blue?

Q: Would you like to see it as a Steam Workshop-like feature?

A: Yeah, sure.

Q: In future, how are you involved with PD2?

A: Well, making more heists for sure. New masks and weapons, too.

Q: Any ideas about the new infamy levels? Can you tell us a timescale?

A: We have plenty of ideas, but I can’t share any of them. I couldn’t tell you when we’re planning to release them, that wouldn’t be fun.

Q: What gave you the idea of making the heist Croatian?

A: We’re a studio based in Croatia, we thought it’d e a nice little touch.

Q: Will there be some movie/book heists like Ocean’s Eleven?

A: Yeah, we always use movies -or whatever people encounter- as inspiration. Movies definitely are a big inspiration. I don’t know about that specific movie, but sure.

Q: Will the Butcher sell us weapon like Gage?

A: She might.

Q: Why did you choose to be a sniper?

A: I didn’t choose sniper life. Sniper life chose me. The lines were recorded in a mini-bedroom at like 4 in the morning.

Q: What was your favorite bug or glitch?

A: There’s been a few crazy ones, sometimes in PDTH the camera would turn upside down when you jumped.

Q: Will you start putting characters in heist DLCs? (instead of them being in a separate DLC)

A: We’re both developers, we don’t do any of the business or PR side of things. We really don’t know.

Q: Will you let us buy your sniper from Gage?

A: Hah, no.

Q: Why isn’t there a Plague DoctoDoctor’s Mask achievement called ”The Doctor is In”?

A: Uh, I don’t know?

Q: Do you like your role in the game as a sniper?

A: yeah, it’s fun

Q: What franchise would make for the best crossover heist?

A: (Ilija) Oh. I’d say Inception, probably. (Mitja) I would choose Truman Show.

Q: Are there any missions where you would have liked to be in?

A: I would have loved to work on Big Bank and Hotline Miami.

Q: What are the main challenges of designing a level like Shadow Raid or Hotline Miami, is there different challenges for stealth and loud?

A: Most levels have the same challenges, 4 people can be in different places in different times.

Q: Are you going to be in any future missions?

A: If it fits in the mission

Q: Any news on the new GenSec enemy?

A: Well, you won’t get any hints. I can’t tell you when it’s coming either.

Q: Will the new Butcher heists allow us to act on an international scale? Could we start our own Payday syndicate?

A: Maybe, everything is an option. We’re not totally limited to D.C., but I can’t tell you the specifics.

Q: Do you think it’s a good idea to sell playable characters separately?

A: I think we answered this kinda already, Personally I don’t know. When i like a game I buy the DLCs, if I don’t like it then I won’t.

Q: Regarding the Casino heist, could it involve things like slot machines and lots and lots of them? Similar to ATMs.

A: (Mitja) Wanna answer that with a non-specific answer? (Ilija) Sure. We will see about that.

Q: Whose idea was it that you need to have two persons to get to the Diamond?

A: I and [someone else] played with the idea quite early on. It is a coop game, let’s make a real coop puzzle. We’ve had some ideas about 4-person puzzles, too.

Q: Anything like No Mercy coming up?

A: I’m not going to answer that sort of questions, I don’t want to spoil the upcoming announcements.

Q: What was behind the decision of going from larger PDTH heists to smaller heists in Payday 2?

A: I don’t think the heists are smaller, three days of Rats practically equates to a single, bigger heist. I think it’s just the opportunity to split the heists into days so we can take the players into different locations.

Q: Any hints on the secret?

A: Yeah, you need to throw a bag below this bridge and then arrange the flares into a pentagram to summon Satan.

Q: Will the old voice actors ever record new lines?

A: Yeah, definitely. The question is better suited for the sound guys though.

Q: Will you at some point install a mute button on Bain?

A: We actually talked about that once, an option to turn him off for a hardcore mode might be fun.

Q: Where is the 7-day heist and safehouse customization?

A: Standard boring answer: You have to wait. As for the week-long heist, we’ll make one as soon as we come up with a good idea for one.

Q: What tips would you give for an aspiring game developer?

A: A really good question. The answer is simple, make shit, build a good folio and play a lot of games. Make sure you have something good to show. Nowadays it’s fairly easy to put things on youtube, Steam Workshop and so on. Just make things until you become good.

Q: Have you personally fired weapons for Payday?

A: Not really, but when Simon got married a bunch of us visited a shooting range.

Q:...do these civs have keycards?

A: Oh, I can’t answer that question....

Q: What is you opinion on modding the game?

A: I think it’s great, people should do it. That’s how I got into the industry, it’d be retarded for me to prevent other people from doing that.

Q: How far do you want to take the level before you can say that it’s finished?

A: Well, as far as we can before breaking anything.

Q: Will you work on Payday after Overkill starts working on Walking Dead?

A: I don’t know, but I feel like I’ll stay on Payday. I like Payday 2, it’s my thing.

Q: Will the Payday gang make any cameos in movies?

A: I don’t know, but I hope they do. It’s a nice little thing to have.

Q: Will there be any VAC bans in the future?

A: That might happen, I’m not really sure.

Q: What level provided the most issues, either through layout or implementation?

A: Framing Frame Day 2. It’s kinda hard to explain, on some levels you just can’t make the tools match the heist. It’s a really shot day too but it took so long to finish.

Q: Was the Bomb inspired by the old PDTH heists?

A: In a way, all of the levels are inspired by Payday: The Heist. We do many thing differently, but in the end Payday 2 is still a sequel.

Q: What’s most challenging aspect in level design?

A: In Payday 2 you have 4 people who can be anywhere, giving feedback to all players everywhere is hard. The coop aspect is the hardest.

Q: Why did you make Train Heist non-stealthable?

A: That’s a valid question. Let’s end this in a hopeful note, I promise to look into it and see if there is anything to be done about it.
